16:8 IF question about supplement calories
I just started 16:8 IF, and I normally take a supplement packet with my morning coffee that has 19 calories in it from MCT oil (no carbs or sugars). Is this enough calories to be considered breaking my fast or is this fine to have during my fasting time?

Anyone "pacing" for medical reasons? Support?
I have chronic illness that limits my activity and I also must pace my activities so I can manage flare-ups. I use a Fitbit to track. Anyone else here? I am in need of some friends, and it would be great to meet others who are also pacing for medical reasons. Thanks!

cooking steel cut oats for one overnight
Has anyone cooked a single serving of steel cut oats overnight in a mini-crockpot or otherwise? Not looking for recipes, only cooking method. Any recommendations for a mini-crockpot model, any have automatic warming after x hours? Thanks for sharing experiences. Sorry if I've missed this, previous posts are recipes or…

anyone hear dealing with Post Exertional Malaise (PEM)?
I am seeking friends who get PEM. If you do, I'd like to hear from you. For those of you who don't know what it is, don't worry, you don't have it. ;)

Giving up artificial sweeteners--creative alternatives for drinks wanted
I am giving up artificially sweetened drinks...my main consumption of artificial sweeteners is Splenda (sucralose) in tea (hot and cold) and Sparkling Ice (flavored sparkling water) and rarely, a diet soda. I drink lots of water--even before giving up sweeteners--and looking for alternatives for tea and water, primarily. I…

Hey buds... :)
How's everyone doing? There hasn't been much action in the group. Everyone plugged in and being successful? Any struggles? The scale FINALLY started to budge for me. It's a great lesson in patience and trusting the process and realizing losing weight isn't an absolute. Our tools are all estimates, our calories are all…

Group check-in...how's everyone doing?
Hi weight loss buddies! How's everyone doing this week? I've done pretty well--I've tracked every day although some meals were hard to accurately track. I got a Fitbit on Wednesday and still learning how to use it in the best way. My HRM is a Polar F4 and about 10 years old and dying. My hubby replaced it with a Fitbit…

Polar FT4/FT7 display
I have an older Polar F4 that is dying on me. I'm looking to replace it and haven't really considered any other brand than Polar but one review for the FT4 on Amazon said that the display print was so small that they couldn't read it and went with a different brand instead. I have to wear readers and on my current F4 I can…

introducing myself
Hi all: I've been on mfp for a couple months now but struggling with consistency. Broke my streak, gained weight back, mostly stress eating. I re-committed last week but then broke my streak again over the weekend in terms of logging in and logging my food/exercise. Right now life is pretty emotional and stressful, and it…

homemade hummus advice
I made my first batch of homemade hummus last week and it wasn't the best. I used organic salt-free tahini and think that was part of my problem. Any advice or good recipes to share? It didn't help that my blender broke while trying to puree it :(

food scale users--no oz./gram options for foods
I got a food scale, went to record my food and for the first several items there is no option to record in ounces in the food database. My choices were a serving or the whole container. I thought the scale might be helpful for caloric dense items or things like a loaf of bakery bread one sliced themselves...so many people…
