How to measure body fat
So I got my calipers and measure tape in today. Using the calipers (on my stomach only) I am getting a little over 26%. Using the tape measure and measuring my neck, waist and plugging the numbers into an Army PT app, I am getting 23%. When my son gets home, I am going to have him help me do the 4 location test with the…

I see veins!!!
Small success, but it feels great. I dropped 14 pounds pretty quick but have been hovering around 222 for about a month. HOWEVER, I lift three days a week and see much more definition in my arms, chest and shoulders and yesterday for the first time in years I actually had veins popping out while I worked out.......hehe…

How long before I sohould up my calories?
Adjusted them up to 2000 3 weeks ago. FitnessFrog shows my TDEE 2944 at a "light exercise" level ( I do strength training 3 days a week and HIIT 1 day a week). I am pretty much at a standstill for a couple weeks now as far as weight, but I ordered a set of body fat calipers and a measuring tape and want to start using…

How to figure ideal weight
Found a few websites, but they all give a bunch of different numbers based on different formulas. I know ultimately, I will make the decision when I get close, but this is supposed to help me set a goal......lol

Small Success
I started 40 days ago today. I have lost only about 12 pounds, but I have lost over 4% body fat and am starting to tone up a bit. Anyway, today a co-worker (whom I hadn't seen in about a month) said "You've lost a lot of weight haven't you?" Awesome!!! That's the first time anyone has said that to me!

Need Advice from some big guys, 6’ +
OK, so I am 6’5, 224 pounds looking to get down to 185 and about 10-14% body fat. I've been at this for about 6 weeks. I started out about 236, 30% bodyfat. Now I'm at 224, 23% bodyfat. I've been stalled about try a week after upping my calories to 2100 from about 1400. I am thinking about dropping calories to around 1600,…

How many calories should I eat? 6'5'' 224
I am 6' 5'', current weight is 224. I ultimately want to head to around 190'ish with around 10% body fat (currently around 24%). I am looking for input from others around this size/weight. I am new to this, and in the desire to have the weight "fly off", I started too low (1400ish). Upped my calories to 2100 and started…

Do I really need to worry abiout macros?
The only one I currently worry about is my protein. I'm lifting 3 days a week hardcore and doing HIIT 1 day a week, so I am trying to always hit my protein goal and hit my bodyweight in protein (translated to grams of course) on workout days. For example if you weigh 200 pounds, get 200g of protein. If I do this,…

Any l-carnitene users?
I am thinking about using this to supplement my training. I currently do resistance training 3 days a week and HIIT one day a week. I currently use BCAAs, whey protein, Creatine and a multivitamin. When I used to take carnitene, taurene and something else. Anyone use it that could tell me pros/cons etc? *edit* argenine was…

Fat burning supplements
I currently use whey protein, Creatine and BCAAs. Years ago, I used to use l-carnitene, taurene and argenine. Anyone here use any of these? I read that omega-3 and l-carnitene together are awesome to help burn fat. Anyone use them? I currently lift 3 days a week and do HIIT one day a week. I swim a couple days a week as…

How long will I gain at higher calories
Ok, I know according to everything I have read that I should be eating more calories. My BMR is around 2100 (not counting exercise) and I have been eating between 1400 to 1800 (varies a lot from one day to the next). I never eat back calories from exercise, which is 3 days a week resistance training and one day HIIT. So I…

Not eating enough, but not hungry
I really struggle with this. I am 42, 6'5'' and currently weigh 224 pounds. I have been working out for about 6 weeks. I started at 236 pounds. 3 days a week I do a 15 minute high-intensity total body workout, circuit style to maximize EPOC. Then one day a week I do 15 minutes of HIIT using cardio equipment. I am getting…

Last run at glory....
Just kidding! I’ve always been in decent shape, however after going from an active contracting job to teaching8 years ago, I have slowly declined. I was typically around 185 pounds at 6’5, worked out etc. At age 42, I have decided to get back in shape. At 236 pounds starting out and around 30% body fat, I know I have my…
