Meal prep time savers
Anyone have any tips?

TDEE or adding back calories burned?
I've been stuck in a plateau and want to be making sure I'm hitting the right calorie goal. Which do you find works better?

Meal planning tools?
I would really like to start planning the majority of my meals for the week in order to better pace my calorie consumption and manage my nutrition goals. Does anyone know of any meal planning tools, such as apps, that may help me do that? I'm trying to find ones that will let me enter foods I like and create meal plans for…

Breaking a plateau by recommitting to accurate logging. Who is with me?
If you've been on here long enough, you've probably experienced this at some point: You get started on MFP, and things are going swell--so swell that you don't worry about that salad dressing or the butter you use to coat your grilled cheese, you can just eyeball it. You don't weigh your bread because you just assume you…

How long did it take you?
I'm working on my last 10-15 pounds (at least, I think I am. Not sure what my goal weight is. All I know is that I'm 5'1", 124 lbs, and still have quite a belly). It's going TERRIBLY slow. Is this normal? I know everyone is different, but it's hard to stay motivated when you don't have any kind of timeline to go by.

Is there any such thing as too much natural sugar?
I'm trying to reduce processed foods from my diet as much as possible. So I started buying every kind of fruit/vegetable I can get my hands on. But now I'm worried that my diet is too fruit/sugar-heavy, even though it's a lot of natural sugars. I've heard a lot of conflicting reports on sugar, and not all of them specify…

Back to basics
I'm down to my last 10-15 pounds (I hope) that I need to lose. I know those are typically the hardest, but it doesn't help that I'm getting worn out when it comes to my health journey. So I'm hitting the reset button. I'm going to recalculate my TDEE and get back to the gym on a more regular basis. I also could use some…

Recipe sources that give calories
Hi folks, I've set a goal to try out one new recipe each week (last week was taco bites-yummy!). I'm looking for websites that not only provide recipes but the calories in those recipes. Any advice? Thanks!

Roommates creating temptation!
I recently moved into a townhouse with 3 friends I've never lived with before. They love their junk food. In fact, their eating DQ in front of me as I type. I'm dying. I'm all for the occasional treat, but not as often as they are. I've tried having my own small sweet snack to tide me over, but looking at their medium…

BORED! Is this normal?
I spend about an hour and a half a day, 4-6 days a week at the gym. I plan on slowly decreasing this amount because, as a college student, I know I won't have this kind of time once the school year kicks in (or once I graduate and get a full-time job). I vary my routine every day to make sure no two days are exactly alike;…

How did you get through your plateau?
Hello friends, I dropped 16 pounds over the past few months. My period came around, and I gained 2.5 back. I didn't think too much about it because weight gain is common around that time of the month. But it hasn't gone away. I weigh myself almost daily but only record Fridays, and unless I lose 3 pounds overnight, I am…

How did you figure out a calorie goal?
I haven't had a loss in about 3 weeks--in fact, I gained about 3 back. I was eating 1200 calories a day, eating back exercise calories. After getting frustrated by not having a loss for so long (this is my first "plateau," for lack of a better term), I put up a post on this forum to get advice from fellow MFP users. It got…

Does this # sound right or is my HRM wrong?
My workout today was an hour and a half long. The first 45 minutes was an interval run. The second half was 3 sets of squat-thrusts (burpees), lunges, and squats for a total of 30-40 of each exercise. Normally, I would stop my HRM after the interval run and restart it it before my strength training. Today, I just let it…

2 weeks til moving day. How do I shop??
I am moving in exactly two weeks to a new apartment, and my fridge/pantry are becoming pretty empty. I know that what I have probably won't last me two weeks, but I don't want to buy anything that won't get used up before then. Any advice? Should I come up with a meal plan? Thanks!

Beginning strength training
I do a lot of cardio and love it, but I know I need to add strength training into my routine. There is a circuit at my gym. I do that without the cardio bits. I also do some squats, but I don't think this is enough. I am a complete stranger to the weight room, so when I hear terms like, "lateral raise" or "triceps…

Eating out at non-chain restaurants
Any advice for logging food you didn't prepare yourself? I don't go out very often, but when I do, it's almost always a locally-owned bar or restaurant. I had a cup of chili and half a small basket of fries (I know, I know--but I just finished finals!), and I'm not sure how to go about logging it. Thanks!

Meal planning tools?
I would really like to start planning the majority of my meals for the week in order to better pace my calorie consumption and manage my nutrition goals. Does anyone know of any meal planning tools, such as apps, that may help me do that? I'm trying to find ones that will also take my MFP limits into consideration. Thanks!

Flushing out a bad meal
Hello! I'm a college student in the midst of finals. Today, after working out for about an hour, I decided to splurge and get Jump! Asian express for lunch. I had steamed white rice, "grilled chicken" (it was awful. I'm not 100% convinced it was real chicken), water chestnuts, baby corn, and shredded carrots covered in…

My period has me STARVING!
The week before my period wreaks havoc on my eating habits. Yesterday, I came home and ate about 650 extra calories. Today, I tried to workout until I reached 650 calories and not eat them back. I know this is NOT a good idea, but it's not something I do often--check my diary. Despite eating about 1500 calories…

Is there such a thing as "too intense"?
I met with a nutrition student on my campus for nutrition counseling, and he said my workouts may be "too intense." Is there such a thing? My workouts are an hour a day, 3-6 days a week and typically include some sort of combination of: 30 min. circuit 30-45 min. jogging @ 5.0 15 min stairmaster 15-45 elliptical He says…

Tips for a beginner in the kitchen?
I am a senior in college, and all I eat are grab-and-go meals--lots of fruits and veggies, which is great, but my diet is still a little too heavy in fat and slightly low in protein. It's also really boring because I feel like I'm eating the same stuff every day. Does anyone have any recipes, websites, etc. that they…

Fitbit or heart rate monitor or Jawbone UP?
Looking to purchase a reliable calorie counting tool. Any recommendations? I'm torn between these 3 products!

Heart rate monitor wrong?
I bought a heart rate monitor at WalMart a while back because I've heard machines frequently overestimate calories burned; however, I sincerely hope my heart rate monitor is UNDERestimating calories burned. After being at the gym for an hour, it told me I had only burned 90 calories! My sessions at the gym include a…

Clueless
I am a college student, and I have no idea how to cook or what it really means to eat a "healthy, balanced" diet. I feel like I eat the same things all the time because I rely on really simple meals. Any suggestions on resources to help me learn more? Thanks!

Can't figure out how to enter my exercise
I just spent about 40 minutes working out to a YouTube cardio video. I'm not sure how I would enter that into the exercise tracker. Any advice? Thanks!
