Ladies, What do you look for?
I'm trying to learn more about women. Not to be weird or strange just to help me better understand how ya'll think. I've got 6 years in Psychology and I think Freud said it best when he said, "The great question that has never been answered, and which I have not yet been able to answer, despite my thirty years of research…

Looking for Friends
I've been on MFP for about 3 months now. I've made some good friends on here but am always looking to meet more people. I'm really interested in meeting folks from overseas as well, because to be honest, I just think that's cool. So if you're into working out, losing weight, being encouraging, and challenging... feel free…

Winter Doldrums and Working Out
Does anyone else have a tough time working out when the days get shorter and the darkness gets longer? I know my workouts have taken a severe plunge since the winter has come upon us. I have also slacked on recording things on here as well. I need help.

Need a little encouragement
How long did it take you to lose weight? I feel like I'm losing so slowly. I'm eating the best that I ever have. I'm exercising, not drinking, etc. I just feel like I'm not dropping weight, inches, anything. Maybe I'm impatient. That's probably it. I just don't get why I was smaller about 6 months ago when I was eating out…

Thermogenics: Good Idea or Heart ATtack waiting to happen?
Does anyone use thermogenics? I've heard good and bad about them. I do like coffee, about 16-20oz a day will get me through and is tolerable in terms of not feeling jittery. However, would it behoove me to try a thermogenic for my workout routine? Just wondering if it would be a good idea or not.

Just felt like sharing...
I just recently bought some nice jeans. LIke probably 2 months ago... tops. Well, now they're falling off of me. I guess that's a good problem to have. A definite NSV!

Exercise/Gym Time: How often and how long?
How often do you exercise and for how long? Do you stick to the gym or find other ways of moving throughout the day. I was exercising about 6 days a week but now I'm down to about 4... around 45 minutes each time. I feel like I need to be doing more but I'm just "not feeling it" on most days. I don't want to burn out...…

Eliptical or Arc Trainer?
I recently discovered the Arc Trainer at my gym. It's the first time I've heard of the machine so I have tried it a few times. I could go for a long time on the eliptical machine and really enjoyed going further and further with every workout. However, I do 20-30minutes on the arc trainer and I just feel like it works me…

Personality or Looks: What do you notice first?
I engaged in an conversation with a girl on here recently about relationships. She said that she has noticed since losing weight that more of the "*kitten*" have come out and come forward. I know that guys tend to notice looks first, and women, personality... but let's be honest.. what really attracts you to someone in the…

When did you start losing weight?
I have a question. About how far into your exercise routine and diet change did you start really losing weight and dropping inches? I seemed to have lost 10lbs quickly but after that it's a very slow process and can be somewhat discouraging, especially if you're an impatient person like myself. Just curious as to what is…

Protein: Bar or Shake?
I recently started a weight training program with a trainer at my gym. I'm going to be lifting 2-3 days a week and he really emphasized having protein after I workout. Considering I will be going to the gym early in the morning before I work I'd like something I can have on my commute to work. Should I go with a protein…

Confidence
I've notice since I've started losing weight that I am more confident than before and that I have a strong inner desire to continue to push myself further and further, and harder and harder. I'm proud of myself. Really. I've not been able to say that too often. My only hope is that I can continue this race with great…

A little nervous...
I have a "health assessment" on Monday at the gym I'm working out at. I am excited because it will help get me on a program to be better but I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little nervous. The reason I'm a little nervous is because even though I know it's absurd and silly, I can't help but think of what the trainer will think of…

Skinny and Crazy or Obese and Sane? Please Read
I'm a counselor. I currently work with teenagers but have worked with adults as well in an outpatient setting. I'm also a person who struggles with the ups and downs of a mental illness. I have Bipolar Disorder. I am very open about my illness because I control it, it does not control me and I've come a long way on the…

Weight and Relationships
Has anyone ever had problems in their relationships because of their weight? I feel like I cannot meet anyone because of mine so it's set me on a very specific path to lose alot of weight. I just am attracted to a certain type of girl (as I'm sure many people have a 'type') and I know to even get in the same ballpark I…

Weighing In
How often do you weigh yourself and what time of day? I've had scales tell me differences from 2 to 7lbs. Which one should I believe? I tend to be a bit obsessive about the number on the scale and am trying to work through that so any help on how often I should weigh myself and what number I should go with will be…

Am I the only one?
Did anyone go through a time of wanting to rush the weight loss process or feeling guilty when falling off the wagon. I feel like I'm working really hard and being really consistent, but the slightest bit of weakness and I feel like I'm failing. Just being tired of being called "big guy". Anyone have advice on how to keep…
