Measuring Body Fat
I've been calculating my body fat using measurements with measuring tape. Is this an OK method? It seems like it could be very inaccurate. is it better to use calipers? or is the electronic monitor just as good? I'd like to purchase something specifically for this purpose if measurements aren't ok.

One Thing That Has Changed
I was reading a weightloss thread the other night. It was about things that have changed since losing weight. The #1 change seemed to be that everyone was cold all the time. Currently I'm about 150 and I'll tell you I am almost never cold. Rewind back to my entire life being at about 137 and I was ALWAYS cold!! Now I'm not…

Major Fatigue After Lifting?
I've been doing SL5x5 for 3 weeks now. I love it. But I'm noticing that I get pretty fatigued after a lifting session. Achy, tired, cold. At first I thought it was illness. But this is becoming a rather recurring thing. Has anyone else experienced this? I want to continue with my workouts, but I would really like to know…

Fitbit Making Me Fat?
Before I purchased my Fitbit charge, I was under the impression that I couldn't eat more then maybe 1850 calories a day or I'd gain weight. Fast forward a couple months and all I'm doing is gaining. Fitbit tells me I burn about 2030 calories a day!!! So instead of eating less I eat more. 2030 calories a day is a decent…

Fitbit Activity Calorie Question
I have the Charge and was extremely surprised by the amount of calories it says I burn in a day. If it is accurate, I burn 2000 a day. So, my question is -- what do you set your MFP calorie goal at in order to be able to use up the calories Fitbit gives back? I set my MFP calorie goal @ 1450 for a couple weeks and ate back…

Should I Stop Lifting until I Lose Fat????
I need some expert advice on how to lose 15lbs --- preferably while weighlifting. I've tried and I end up eating waaay over my calorie goals almost daily :( I don't care if I have to alternate plans until I have the body I want. I just don't know what to start with -- everything I've done since I started MFP in October…

To All Weight Lifting Women....
I'm new to weight lifting. After reading a ton of success stories I decided to ditch the cardio killer and go heavy! I mean...the idea makes sense! And.... I LOVE it. I'm doing Stronglifts 5x5 and it's great. BUT I'm finding that doing the program as-is, is creating havoc on me! I'm 5'3" and eating 1650 calories a day on…

What Works For You Calorie/Exercise Calorie Wise
I know everyone is different, but I just want to know what works for people. There are different ways to figure out your calorie needs and I know all of those. But what do you aim for each day? I'm finding that MFP's 1450 calories each day for me, ends up being more the days I exercise. So on any given day, my mind is…

How Do You Stay on Point? Tips & Ideas Appreciated!
The one thing I struggle with the most is, lack of planning. My best intentions tend to go out the window each night. I have so much on my to-do list, that I end up skipping all my meal preperations for the next day. That and I"m still learning about portions and substitutes. I would love to hear what you guys do. What…

I Blow It EVERY Time :( I need so much support it sucks.
This weightloss journey is such a pain in my rear-end. It's depressing. I spend so much time working on it through the week, and then the weekend is a bust. I'll do so well, and feel great by Thursday/Friday...like my butt and stomach are starting to get smaller instead of the normal "bigger". So I lax on food and drink…

BMR vs. MFP Calorie Recommendation
I am 5'3" and 145lbs. My BMR is 1430. Shouldn't I consume at LEAST 1430 calories, even when restricting to lose weight? Doesn't the body need that to be healthy and function properly? MFP recommends that I eat 1200 a day to lose 1lb a week. My question is....if I need 1430 and I only eat 1200, isn't that unhealthy? I…
