lifting weights at home
I am going to add weight lifting(or at least try) into my daily routine at home. What weight would you suggest I use to start and how many different weights do I need. If a few which weights would you recommend for someone starting off?

To determine how many cals you are eating each day, do you use MFP's calculator based on the stats you put in or do you have another calc./site you choose to use? Best brand? I need somewhat affordable, light/airy, comfortable(obviously), and good for trail running as well as blacktop. I have a cheap crappy pair of FILA's and they are killing my feet especially my toes. :(
