I’m feeling so discouraged
So in the past I lost 120+ pounds. I gained about 90 pounds back. Over the last year I lost almost 40 pounds and have about 50 left to lose. I have always loved running but haven’t done it in about a year. The last three weeks I have really buckled down and done strict calorie counting and I have been losing weight…

Activity level
Do you consider 10,000 steps a day lightly active? I’m having a hard time figuring out which activity level to choose on MFP.

caloric intake when pregnant
Is there a way to figure out how many calories to consume when pregnant? Or does anyone know the general number? I want to make sure I'm eating enough, but not go overboard and gain 50-60 pounds this time! Thanks!

exercise calories
Do you eat back your calories when you work out? If so how many? I've always eaten back all of my exercise calories but now I see people talk about not doing that and I think I want to try half or even less and see how I progress..what do you do?

I could use some advice..
I'm in need of advice or just support. I lost 120 pounds with calorie counting and running and was happy, my smallest, and a healthy normal weight! Then I got pregnant with my 4th child, I gained about 40 pounds back. My child is now almost 2 and I still have those 40 pounds to lose. I have been calorie counting off and on…

About 3 years, finally made it.....105 pounds gone forever!!
Ok, so I debated making this post for a few reasons, A. I am still in denial that I even made it here, I mean a few years ago when I started this journey topping in at 255 pounds I set a goal for myself to lose 100 pounds and be at a healthy and finally not overweight weight of 150 pounds. As that day approached and I…

reducing bloat
Let me start by saying I'm not trying to find a way to lose an outrageous amount of weight super fast. My husband's company is having a big Christmas party this Saturday. I'm so excited to go and am getting this beautiful dress that I would have never worn 105 pounds ago! It's tight and makes me feel very sexy. However, I…

People in Kentucky
I'm not new to MFP, and have made great and supportive friends on here. :) I was just wondering if there were any fellow MFP'ers in Kentucky? I am actually in Northern KY on the cusp of Cincinnati OH but are there any fellow KY'ers here?

What next?
So I can't believe I am finally here, but this is my LAST week of C25K!! I am starting week 9 tomorrow. I feel so great and have found a real love for running. I intend to do a 5k race sometime in the fall, but I really enjoy having that program to follow. Something that tells me when to start and stop because it allows me…

Eating them back
How many of you eat back your exercise calories when you run? Currently I am on week 5(starting w5d2 today), and have been burning close to 350 cals a run so my polar ft4 says. I was eating back most to all of those calories I burned but I am noticing a stall in weight loss and have just been feeling really heavy and blah.…

Any success stories for saggy tummies?? :(
I am hoping this isn't a lost cause. I have lost almost 100 pounds and my stomach has shrank significantly. However, I seem to hold most of my weight in my lower tummy and thigh area, always have. So it's taking the longest. My stomach has always been saggy, as in hanging down over my pants line. It's slowly getting higher…

ppl with similar stats...
Looking for friends with similar stats to me so we can motivate each other. :) I'm 5'5", 158 pounds. Pants size 8, shirts are a large. My first goal was 150 pounds and I am so close to that but feel I want to lose another 20-30 pounds depending on how I feel as I get closer. Add me!

Which one??
Those who have completed the whole C25K, what week/day was your hardest to do? Was there one you had trouble getting through? I am starting week 4 today and so scared to run 5 minutes straight!!

runners!
So I am fairly new to running. I started the c25k and love it and found I have a serious love for running. I enjoy it so much. I am finding three days a week isn't enough. I am currently doing 5 days a week because I like it so much. I don't push myself super hard or overdo it. I just enjoy my runs on trails/parks etc. My…

Is it a myth?
That your stomach shrinks when you start eating smaller portions? Like if I eat mostly healthy, but have a big dinner and possibly big lunch, will my stomach be bigger(need more to satisfy hunger) than if I ate smaller meals, even possibly more frequently? I heard this is true and it struck me as a hmmm...moment. I don't…

jawbone UP
I have been looking into this, and it seems really cool. It says it tracks calories burned. This is a biggie for me as I haven't bought anything to track my calories burned during running yet and if it does this accurately on top of the other things it does I want it! Anyone have one? Reviews? Do you find it accurate with…

Borderline obese?!?
I know scales can be deceiving, and are just numbers, etc. But how accurate are the bf% numbers on scales? Mine gives you your weight, bf%, water%, and bmi. I am 5'5 and weigh 160 pounds according to my scale. But it also says my bf% is 39!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :noway:  I went and looked up %'s and what's normal, over,…

Jello pie
Ok, so this isn't the healthiest dessert. But when you really have a craving for something sweet and decedent, this should do the trick. And because you are using greek yogurt it has protein in it too, seems like a win win to me. :) http://www.kalynskitchen.com/2011/12/two-ingredient-sugar-free-raspberry.html Want to add…

Which do you use?
For figuring out your bmr and tdee? I was using fat2fitradio for my bmr, and iifym for my tdee. Then I heard someone mentioning the scooby site and checked it out. The bmr was about the same, but it had my tdee much lower than I calculated on iifym. I have read it's very accurate on the scooby site and thinking about…

Am I the only one?
Waiting until this freezing cold weather lets up to start C25K? I started end of fall(bad time to start) and got through week one and felt great, then the incredibly cold weather came, and snow...etc etc.. So i decided to stop and wait until spring. I live out in the country so I have to drive to a park or something to run…

What's a good amount to lose?
Per week for someone who has 42 pounds to lose? Is 1.5 ok or to much to fast?

Need a little help
I am following the 20% TDEE method for figuring out how many calories to eat. My BMR is 1430, my TDEE is 2372, so I am eating 20% of my TDEE which is 1898. Correct me if any of this seems wrong to begin with...now on to my question. I am a nursing mother to a 9 month old. He doesn't eat solid food, solely nurses. I know…

issues figuring out bmr
I told a friend about the fat2fit site to figure out her bmr to try to help her eat properly. Well she did the bmr calculator and for some reason the results only show the Benedict-Harris number. It doesn't show the Mcardle number at all, it doesn't even say Katch Mcardle. Anyone ever had this happen?

Heavy lifting
What do you consider heavy enough to fall into the lift very heavy for small reps category? I was reading a blog post about someone that started doing heavy lifting for low reps to gain muscle(a female) rather than lifting smaller weights for longer reps. Does this really work better? And at what weight do you consider it…

What do your macros look like?
Your carbs, fat, fiber, protein, etc. etc. What percentage do you have? I am taking the BMR/TDEE/MACROS approach after reading the roadmap thread and am not sure how to set mine up. I am more concerned with calories because I want to lose weight but I do think focusing on getting more protein and fiber would be beneficial…

working out after having coffee
Is it ok to work out right after having a strong cup of coffee? I only ask because I have heard people say that it makes your heart rate go higher than it should and isn't really a good idea...any truth to that?

What shape?
Ok, I am sure everyone and their brother ask this question but I have compared and compared and I am still not sure. :/ What body type would you say I am. When I was 100 pounds overweight I looked like a big blob, so I would have said orange(I know this isn't really a type), lol. But now that I am starting to take a shape…

to gain weight
I know you have to have a surplus to gain weight(if you are trying to do that), but how do you do this when you are eating when hungry? My dh is 5'7 1/2" and weighs around 130-135 pounds. He eats when he is hungry. Three meals a day, and a snack or two. He usually pigs out when he does eat. I can't say I am not jealous of…
