Per week for someone who has 42 pounds to lose? Is 1.5 ok or to much to fast?

.5-2lbs a week is what's recommended for healthy, long term weight loss...

but really, any loss is a good thing!

No, that's right on the money.

I'd start at 1.5 or 2, but as you get closer, expect to see smaller losses.

I think it all depends on how much you want to lose. If your goal is 42 pounds, the initial "shed" may be up to 3-5 for the first week or two, and that's fine. When you kind of settle into a comfortable pace of loss, depending on genetics, 1-2lbs is perfectly safe!

I initially had 100 pounds to lose to get to 150 pounds which was my first goal. I now want to lose 42 more pounds but that's to get to my final goal of 130ish pounds. I was thinking shooting for 1-1.5 was safe and not to fast. :)
