How can I make the cauliflower pizza more lean?
Just tried my first cauliflower pizza and found it to be tasty but overwhelmingly oily (thanks a lot 100g of full fat mozzarella). So, apart from the obvious, use low fat cheese, are the other modifications I could make without compromising the integrity of the base? It seems really, really cheesy with the equal parts of…

strength training/30DS question
So it's my understanding if you are doing strength training, you need to include recovery days. As the 30DS works a lot of muscles as hard as it can, doesn't it logically extend that one should really be doing the 30DS every second day? Is there any potential for injury if you take Jillian's advice and "push through" doing…

In defense of food
I've been meaning to read this book for a while, in the mean time, here's a video of the author giving a lecture about nutrition science. Heard it on the radio one night and was listening with both ears glued to the speakers, very interesting stuff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBr_i1mH_08 Be warned, about an hour long,…

Those of you who enjoy eating Indian or better yet, cook Indian food, would any of you care to hazard a guess as to the calorie content of my favourite dishes please? (As I am not cooking it, I can't say for certain what is in it, just a loooooot of oil and good flavours). Top pick dishes include Palak paneer Eggplant…

Counting work as exercise...
I sometimes work for an audio visual company helping them load in/out and setting up/packing down their equipment. This involves a lot of walking around, arm movements (laying out cables etc) and occasional heavy lifting. On these days I am predictably hungry after work and prone to feeling like I have earnt some kind of…

Loooove dairy
I think the recommended serves of dairy is 3 in a day, on an average day, I think I'd really struggle to limit my intake to that. Primarily when eating meals with no meat, I like to have a little (or a lot) of cheese to savory it all up. I also like plain yogurt with curry, coffee with milk and flavoured milk. Just…

cardio bits and pieces
Some questions, well, two really.... Question one: Generally speaking people seem to recommend one day on, one day off for cardio (alternating with strength training). Is it detrimental to do cardio every day (if you feel up to it)? I really notice the calorie restriction on those no cardio days and get huuuungry. Question…

Basic aerobics DVD
http://www.tower.com/basic-aerobics-alan-harris-dvd/wapi/107011511 Does anyone do this? I always suspected it to be a pretty mild work out but, using a HRM last night, can now say with some authority, 20 minute work out, less than 100 calories burned. I like the whole aerobics on DVD concept though, anyone know any more…

With a pinch of salt?
http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm This calculator reckons, that with exercise 3 times a week, my maintenance calories are around 1900, weight loss around 1500 and extreme weight loss at 1200. If this is the case, why did mfp restrict my calories to 1200? I'm pretty hungry today having not done any…
