DOMS haunt me
I have had issues with DOMS in my legs for I don't even know how long now. I can only work them once a week because the recovery is so severe and painful, I can only manage it once. It's gotten to the point where I'm semi-traumatized by the whole experience because the pain does impact how I live my life for several days.…

Help with muscle recovery
I'm not new to lifting and have been doing it for a couple years casually. In the last 5 months I have gotten serious about getting fit and am struggling with muscle recovery while I push myself. I am one of those that if I'm really sore won't go back to the gym for a week and it sends me into a bad habit cycle. I use…

Calculating Macros
How do you go about calculating your macros? Do it yourself? Have a nutritionist? Use an online calculator? I am looking at using a meal prep service that is compliant with my diet and they said they can comply with macros. I realized that would give me optimal results as I train and I need to figure them out! HELP?

T or F: Kale interrupts normal thyroid function?
I've been hearing reports that kale disrupts normal thyroid function. As someone who has had significant issues with the thyroid, I'm now concerned about my intake of this otherwise healthy food. Thoughts?

Need high protein/low carb suggestions for meal planning!
Meal planning is tough but oh so necessary to stay within macros. I get that Chicken Breast is a great source of protein with very low carbs but I can't eat that for every single meal. Egg whites have become a breakfast staple with some Sriracha (yum!!).... but still looking for suggestions. Quinoa has sooooo much carb in…

Lifting help please!
For those of you that are lifters, I need some help. On days that I work my back, I am finding that I am sore in my arms (secondary muscles) and not my back. Does this mean my weights are not heavy enough? That I need to work through building my arms before I see a difference in my back? I'm such an amateur...

Trick to challenge your running game...
Yesterday I ran for the first time post baby. I was nervous that I would psych myself out of doing my best so I tried this: Using a telemetry strap, I established upper and lower limits for my bpm. Each time I hit the lower limit (i.e. 135bpm), I start running till I hit my upper limit (160bpm). I ran faster so that I…

Need english muffin variety
What's your favorite english muffin that is under 100 calories? I made a breakfast sandwich most mornings and am trying to find a way to cut back the calories in the bread. I'd prefer something that doesn't TASTE like whole wheat but am pretty open. Ideas?

Log weight during pregnancy?
Wanted to get the community's feedback... should I be logging my weight during the course of my pregnancy? I had lost 18lbs and then when I found out, I didn't want to discourage myself by logging gains time and again but I think it might motivate me to keep exercising if I do. Your thoughts?

Add weights at 18 weeks pregnant?
I was doing some weights for a couple of months in the first part of my pregnancy but I feel now that maybe it's too much? Should I stick with calisthenics or should I actually reincorporate weights? Would freeweights be better than the machines?

What do you do with Kale?
I use an organic veggie and fruit service fresh from farms every week and this week I got some kale. I've seen it discussed in all articles about nutrition but how do you eat it? What do you do with it?

Support Groups
How do groups work on MFP? I have seen many people have pictures in their signature line associating themselves with a group of people with a common goal but most posts usually are closed. I'd love to be a part of a group!

Fiber and Water
I just started taking a new protein powder in the mornings after my workout. On the label, it mentions something about increasing water intake with any increase in fiber in your diet. What does fiber do to the body that makes it necessary to increase the water intake? Just curious...

Same weight suddenly tougher?
Noticed today that it was SO much harder to lift the same weight on a chest press machine than I ever have noticed. I haven't changed anything that I know of and haven't taken any breaks from working out, what gives? Did I all of a sudden lose a bunch of muscle? I could only do 8 reps a set when I used to do 10! I usually…

Bell Pepper recipes?
I am a member of an organic farming co-op, getting fresh fruit and vegetables from locally grown farms every week. I get different things seasonally but right now I have been getting a ton of purple and red bell peppers and have run out of things to do with them. I've done the stuffed bell pepper recipe and roasted them,…

Minimum cals should be net or gross?
I have heard that you shouldn't eat less than 1200 calories a day because that's the minimum energy it takes to keep all of your organs running as they are supposed to be. However, if i'm exercising, should that 1200 calories be net calories or do I take in the 1200 and burn whatever i'm burning exercising? I am most…

Boxed up half at the restaurant
This may be a VERY small victory in the grand scope of what some of us are doing here but hey... it's something. I am SO happy that I went to a restaurant and ate only half my meal (which was a good choice based on the menu) and boxed up the rest to bring home. I have never been able to do that. I've always started with…

Hi everyone! Just looking for some positive accountability partners on the same journey as i am.
