Add weights at 18 weeks pregnant?

I was doing some weights for a couple of months in the first part of my pregnancy but I feel now that maybe it's too much?

Should I stick with calisthenics or should I actually reincorporate weights? Would freeweights be better than the machines?

    Ask your doctor.

I did weights without a problem, just realize that you may have to modify so that you can maintain proper form. Sitting is suggested quite a bit to protect your back. Always a good idea to ask your doctor.

I would definitely talk to your dr and see what they say - they might say it's fine if you stick with the same or possibly lighter weights, or they might prefer you not use weights at all. And even if they do feel okay with you continuing, they may have suggestions for particular moves you should or shouldn't do. So I'd sit down and make a detailed list of what you want to talk about and go over it at your next appointment.
