Trick to challenge your running game...

Yesterday I ran for the first time post baby. I was nervous that I would psych myself out of doing my best so I tried this:
Using a telemetry strap, I established upper and lower limits for my bpm. Each time I hit the lower limit (i.e. 135bpm), I start running till I hit my upper limit (160bpm). I ran faster so that I could hit 160 quicker and walked harder so I didn't hit 135 and had to run again. I quickly realized this is a great trick to get the lazy person to listen to what their body is telling them they can do rather than letting their mind take over by watching distance or time running. Try it!
If you're not hitting the lower limit at least 5 times in your first 30 minutes, raise the lower limit. As you condition, you should raise the lower limit and pretty soon you will realize that you're running pretty hard for pretty long. Try it today and let me know what you think!!

I have done that myself! I love it and it keeps me focused on something the entire time I run.0
