Two year maintenance anniversary
I post on the Success board every year on this date. Two years ago, I made a healthy BMI. My goal is to be at that and posting here for the rest of my life. Here's my cross-post for this year: I joined MFP on my 58th birthday in Dec 2009. I weighed 242.5 pounds. By August 2011, I was at a healthy BMI of 154 pounds. In 2012…

How I Did NOT Lose 98 pounds
Yes, I've lost 98 pounds. I started on my birthday in December 2009. A year ago, I'd lost 88 pounds and reached a healthy BMI. Since then I have lost an additional 10 pounds. This past week I observed my one year anniversary of being at a healthy BMI. Last year I wrote a long post about how I did it which you can read…

Success before Sixty
Nineteen months ago, I turned 58. I felt awful. Not because of my age but because of my weight. I am 5’6” tall and I weighed 242.5 lbs. I didn’t exercise, I could barely get off the couch without getting on my hands and knees. I couldn’t climb a flight of stairs without huffing and puffing. My knees hurt and my own snoring…

91 pound weight loss (with pics!)
I joined MFP on my 58th birthday in Dec 2009. I weighed 242.5 pounds. By August 2011, I was at a healthy BMI of 154 pounds. In 2012 I took up running and a year ago weighed 144 pounds. Then I developed plantar faschitis, quit running, took up weight training and stationary rowing. Now I weigh 152 pounds and I'm in the best…

What I learned on my seven month plateau
I'm a big believer in plateaus. I think they help prepare us for how we're going to live the rest of our lives once we're happy with our weight. I've recently (in the past two months) started losing weight again after seven months of staying within a two pound range. I'd given up on expecting to lose more weight and…

Third Year MFP Anniversary
Three years ago, this coming Saturday, I joined MFP. I set myself one goal - to not gain the weight back. I'm 5'6", it was my 58th birthday, I weighed 242 pounds. I'd been fighting being overweight all my life. I'd lost 50+ pounds and then regained it plus more, at least once a decade. Although I'd always been healthy, I…

Day 10
Which would be Monday, Sept 4 - if we start counting from Tami's original post on Sat Aug 25. That "we" is beginning to look like "me" but that's ok, I'm sticking to the plan. So far, so good - been in bed before midnight every night and had lights out by midnight (give or take 10 minutes :-) I'm not sure if it's really…

Day 6
or whatever day you're counting. Got the lights out at midnight last night. Bit tough since I started a new book and it's very good. Didn't sleep well either. So thank goodness I got the lights out before 3AM! How was your day yesterday? Tami - where are you? Jeanne

Day 5
Which, um, was yesterday. Made it to bed on time - got the lights out 9 minutes after midnight. Feeling good this morning.

Day 4
Ok, so yesterday was Day 4 but we can't exactly report on today yet, can we? Anyway, I made it to lights out just under the wire last night. I have to admit, if if weren't for this challenge, I'd have been up another two hours. Jeanne

Reporting in?
This is my first group so I'm not sure about how we're supposed to use it. But, so far, I can say that thinking about my goal commitment to this group has put me into bed every night before midnight. I know that getting a good night's sleep is critical to stabilizing my moods and feeling good is critical to keeping me on…

Two Year Anniversary in Onederland
Hi, This week is my second anniversary of being in Onderland. I joined MFP in December 2009. I had to lose 43 pounds to get to Onderland, I've lost 53 pounds since then. I've had an even more important success since then - reaching a healthy BMI - but reaching Onderland was an important mental milestone for me - having…

Two years and 95lbs w/pics

Here's the picture that sparked the journey: And here's my 60th birthday photo from yesterday: The stats are: Height: 5'6" SW: 242.5lbs CW: 147.5lbs I did it my logging in everything I eat, by exercising for an hour daily…

One year anniversary in Onederland
A year ago today, I entered Onederland. It took me seven months to do it and, since I'd been and left several times before in my past, I didn't want to celebrate until I was sure I was going to stay. Well, in the past year, I've lost as much as I did in the first seven months, so I'm ready to celebrate a little bit. It…

Weight loss fluctuation when near goal
I've been on MFP for 17 months now. I started out at a BMI of 39.1 (almost "morbidly obese") and now it's 26.3 (almost "normal"). Ever since my BMI moved into the "overweight" category, my typical weekly weight loss has slowed down from an average 1.3 pounds to now just barely 1 pound. I know that's normal and I expected…

And then I gained some back...
Officially I entered "last 10 pounds" territory today. I pretty much know how to do it - eat those exercise calories :-) My question is a bit different. I've read lots of people's stories here about how they lost weight and then gained some back. I'd really like to lose these last 10 pounds only ONCE! So, if you reached…

Goal weights and maintenance
I've read a lot of posts by folks who say they have more than one weight goal. I know I've got three - the goal I say I'm aiming for (what I used to weigh as an adult), the goal I'd really like to reach but don't think it's likely (what I weighed at 18 and that was a looooong time ago) and the goal that I've wanted to…

Maintenance Board
Hi, I posted a suggestion in the "Website Suggestions/Feedback" board for a new board dedicated to maintenance issues. There are so many people on MFP who are reaching goal (Yeah!) or have come to MFP having been at goal before and gained the weight back (raises hand) that a board dedicated to talking about maintenance…
