Declining Deadlift 'Advice'
Is there a polite way to say 'thanks, but no thank you' when someone offers to help correct your DL form? A nice older gentleman in my gym tried to help me out today, by hollering at me in the middle of my DL warmup set to tell me I was doing it all wrong, and I was going to hurt my back. I have been a little worried about…

Yoga and SL
My gym offers yoga classes twice a week, and I went to my first one today...loved it! My question is, when you do both yoga and SL, do you do both on the same day? And would it be more appropriate to do my lifting before or after the yoga class? My thinking was the stretching would be a nice warmup for the lifts, but I was…

DB vs BB and Lifting at Home
As I mentioned in my intro post, I started SL last week, and had made up a spreadsheet to get my weak self from 10lbs to 50lbs in the next six weeks. I'm lifting at home, so I don't have anything to work with but a barbell and weights. No squat rack or bench, etc. Today, after I 'masterfully' squatted all of 15lbs, I began…

TDEE Activity Level
How do you actually figure out your level of activity for this thing? The difference between light and moderate activity ends up being a fairly large calorie difference for me, so I was wondering if you guys could help me decide which level is correct. I work a desk job, which has a fair amount of running around the office…

Best Protein Powder for Baked Goods?
Since joining MFP, I have tried several recipes involving protein powder, like the scone recipe posted by Mutant13, and a mug cake using protein powder and angel food cake mix someone on my friends list posted. The smell and taste of both of these items has been lovely, but the texture is horrible! Dry and way too dense.…

I could use some new friends....pretty please?
Haha, I am fairly new here, and so far haven't been able to make any friends, but I'd love to change that! I'm a 5'8" GA girl, hoping to lose about 68 more lbs, seeking like-minded....and not so like-minded friends that can help me on my journey, and hopefully I can return the favor!
