What percentage of calories per meal?
So I'm looking at the calories I have left for dinner and snacks (837) and wonder which meals should be getting which percentage of my allotted calories? Most during breakfast? Evenly spaced out throughout the day?

Valentine's Day Turn Downs
I managed to "turn down" a lot of cheap Valentine's day candy today, that wasn't worth the calories: A bag full of candy, suckers, cookies, you name it (I'm a teacher). I'm saving myself for 3 Lindor truffles this evening with a glass of wine. Anybody else resist the temptations of cheap sweets?

What are your trigger foods and how do you handle them?
So I've been faithfully following mfp since the first of January, and yesterday I blew it. I bought some sweet potato chips, thinking they would be a nice snack. I ate the entire bag last night. I am so ashamed. Obviously this is a major trigger food for me, and I won't be buying them again. If they aren't in the house, I…

Super Bowl Resistance Movement
I am starting a resistance movement! I am about to go to a superbowl party with potato salad, ribs, alcohol, desserts, sweet rolls, potato chips and other assorted evils. I will NOT be overcome. I will RESIST. I WILL NOT overdo it and blow my calories for the week. I will not be disappointed in myself when I weigh in…

Top ten best rewards as motivators
So, I've been doing this diet thing since the first of January, and have lost about 7 pounds. I'm looking for good rewards to further motivate me, now that the newness has worn off and it isn't as exciting. How are you "non-food" rewarding yourself if you meet a goal? I'm on a tight budget, so going out and buying new…

Exercising while sick?
So, I'm starting to get a cold (scratchy throat, no fever). Should I maintain my 30 minutes daily brisk walk or scale back to avoid getting sicker?

I need a snack idea
I get hungry every two hours. So, when I start grading papers in the afternoon, I need a snack that will tide me over until dinner that will also keep my hands busy because this is my worst junk food craving time of day. It needs to be filling without being full of calories--so a handful of nuts just won't do it. Basically…

Nervous about tomorrow morning's weigh-in
So this is the end of the first week of the new diet for me--I have logged in every bit of food, and I am under my calorie goal every day. But I'm terrified that I won't have lost any weight at all. I know that part of the problem is that I haven't started exercising yet (I work long hours as a teacher and I'm tired when I…

Need a red potatoes recipe
Hey--I'm looking for a healthy way to cook for myself. I just bought a bag of red potatoes and need a quick way to cook a couple for dinners so I I don't exceed my calorie limit. Frying seems like a bad idea.

Just joined --I'm hungry!
I just started my diet change yesterday--I need to lose 30 pounds to be healthy. If I lose 20 pound before both of my parents, they owe me $100. I practiced healthy eating today--oatmeal breakfast, soup for lunch, chili and broccoli for dinner. Granola bar snack. I thought about food and when I could eat next all day long.…
