burpees
I've been MIA here for about 2 years, and no one has added burpees as an exercise routine yet for the daily diaries? Do y'all even sweat?

Fitathalon 5k
Not super well organized, at least the one in Raleigh, NC. But, the nearly 1/4 mile of lunges to start us off was holy-cow-killer-tough. My legs are already not happy.

Non-wavers
What's up with dog-walkers, walkers, runners, bikers not returning a wave or at least a head-nod? Am I just too Southern for my own good? I don't stop to shave everyone's hand while waving, but a quick hand gesture/wave is most times not returned. Am I a weirdo?

One year of running!
Oct 9 of 2012 is when I started my RunKeeper diary. I had just finished the C25K program, and vowed to not give up my new habit. I think I've done OK. I don't do events, only a 5k, but I've managed to run at least once a week and sometimes as many as 3x a week this entire past year. My new goal is to finish a Half. I've…

NSV - First 5k in the books
I managed to do OK, finished in 26:30'ish - didn't compete as a racer, so going off the board when I crossed the finish line. Like many others, I started out faster than I intended, but did OK as I usually run a mile or so longer. It was a very small race, less than 300, so it was a nice way to break in. My next race is a…

5k to Half Marathon Training Plans?
Wondering if anyone has first hand experience going from running 5k's to progressing to doing a half marathon? I just signed up for the Rock 'n' Roll half in Seattle next Summer. I could Google, but thought I'd check in with y'all first.

Guilty! I've never ran on a treadmill before.
So am I missing out on something? I'll try to get 2 runs in a week, anywhere between 3-4 miles generally. But am I missing out on something, training-wise?

Logging Doughnuts
I feel like I'm at an AA meeting, except I walked in with a 6-pack of beer. But my cheat days don't feel like such a cheat when I log everything, and I still end up eating less when I log. A great way to keep yourself in check - have kids. They'll take all the doughnuts before you get a chance to have too many :)

BS Calories Burned - Biking
So I did 90 minutes, 20 miles of greenway and dirt road biking on my mountain bike. RunKeeper and MyFitnessPal thought that equated to about 1100 calories. My BS alarm went off. I'm 36, 6'4", and 212 lbs or so...thoughts?

Advice for switching gears from weight loss to maintenance?
I've reached my goal weight, several times. I get to my goal, and then decide to set a new one. I don't think it's realistic for me to lose anymore and to maintain that weight, but my brain has wired these new thought patterns around how I eat and how much I eat, and I don't want to yo-yo AGAIN. My new goal is maintain my…

Gloves?
My hands' calluses have calluses. Pull-ups become difficult as I tend to sweat a lot. Chalking up doesn't help as much as it probably should. I've been doing Crossfit 2x a week since November and have seen excellent results, so I'm not really complaining. Just wondering, do gloves create as many problems as they solve?

Feel guilty on your off day(s)?
I've been working our 5-6 days a week steadily for the past 8 months. I love my new habit, but I start to 'itch' and feel antsy on my rest day. Just me? If not, any tips?
