Eating at BMR and not losing
I've been at this for four weeks, and I've only lost 2 pounds. I'm basically staying near my BMR for eating (1500) - some days I go over, some days I'm under. I exercise at least 4 times a week (walking, weights, personal training, a mix of things). I figured eating around BMR and exercising would mean I'd lose weight, but…

first week back, lost no weight
I thought I did really well this week. I watched what I ate, logged every bit. I have a big calorie deficit but lost zero pounds. I think my food log is open, if anyone has some tips on what they think may have been the problem. I am really trying to get it right this week, so am open to suggestions for change. Thanks.

should TDEE-20 roughly equal BMR + exercise cals?
I understand these are two completely different ways of calculating the proper amount of calories to eat. But does that mean they should be roughly equal? Kind of like doing a double check to make sure you're getting enough/not too much? If my estimated TDEE-20% is 1900 (using highly active - 6/7 days of exercise). Does…

Should I go up or down?
I've been gaining and losing the same 4 pounds for a month now. I'm wondering if I need to change my food intake. I currently eat 1700-1800 calories a day. My workout is as follows: Monday - personal trainer (1 hour), weights (30 min), abs class (15 min) Tuesday- swimming (1 hour), water aerobics (45 min) Wednesday-…

focus on hours or intensity for calculating tdee/scooby?
When you input information to calculate your TDEE, it says "3-5 hours/moderate activity" or "6-7 hours/strenuous activity". I actually exercise about 1.5 hours a day, 7 days a week, but at a moderate intensity. So would go more by the hours or the intensity level to set my activity level?

Am I moderately active?
This TDEE thing is killing me. I don't have a desk job, and I'm not a waitress, or a construction worker, so I'm having a hard time determining what activity level to choose. I work out 7 days a week, 1-2 hours each day. My activities range from lifting (3x/week), walking on the treadmill, swimming, rowing machine,…

Does swimming really burn that many calories?
Most sites say that you burn a lot more calories swimming than you do walking or running, or really more than most any other exercise. So when I put in that I swam for two hours, even on light/moderate effort, it gave me 1200 calories burned. By contrast, if I'd walked at 3.5mph for two hours, I'd have only burned 600+…

can you net under bmr using tdee?
I'm wondering if it is okay to have your net calories be less than your bmr using the tdee-20% method? My tdee-20% is about 1900. My BMR is 1500. Today I swam for an hour and a half, and burned well more than 400 calories. I'd like to keep my calories for the day at 1900, but that means my net is less than 1500. Is that…

asking for guidance - opened diaries.
Hi everyone. I'm new to MFP and did really well the first week, lost 3.9 lbs. But the next two weeks have lost nothing (no weight, no inches). I usually eat between 1600-1700 calories a day, and exercise generally about 600-800 calories a day (some days only 400, some days 1100). Though it's hard to estimate calories…
