Shortest day of the year, Longest run of the year
Wow the year has gone by fast. I did say I wanted to run a 10 k this year and didn't get myself organized to go to one, so I figure, since today was the shortest day of the year, I should do my longest run of the year. I had been slowly increasing my distance a little at a time over the spring and summer, but kind of back…

Good Bye 300
Stepped on the Dr's scale today, it read 293 Lbs. First time I have seen a sub 300 Lb reading for over 20+ years. Good luck to everyone here in your efforts to lose the weight. It can be done, even if I never thought I would see it myself.

I Iot rid of the extra X's
Finally, after all thus time, I have finally gotten rid of the extra X's in my life. I had 3 and sometimes 4 X's around for so many years I kind of given up any hope of ever having just 1 X in my life. I do hope that with continued effort I lose the final X too soon. Anyway, today I went shopping to get some cold weather…

75 pounds gone, goodbye 300's
Went to the Doctors office yesterday for my regular monthly check in and weigh out. I was disappointed last month when I had only lost 3 lbs, sitting at 303:( So when I stepped on the scale, I had to look long and hard to make sure I was seeing what it was really saying. I lost 10 lbs in the month, almost enough to make me…

An NSV? Hummmm I guess so.
Got back from the Dr today and after stepping on his scale, I find I have lost 16 lbs over the past 5 weeks. Punching that new number into the calculator here at MFP, I now have lost over 100 calories a day of allowed eating. And to top it off, I went to my Runtastic program and entered my new weight into it. Now my runs…

More NSV's
Yesterday I did my usual 5-6 km, hour long run with my yellow Lab. Everything seemed to be going along nicely with good temperatures and a nice breeze blowing. I run with Runtastic keeping track of my GPS location and distance. I noticed my interval times were on the faster side of usual for me, but I wasn't working all…

First 5K, and another NSV
Finished my first official 5K race today. Did the Color Me Rad 5K. My time was 45:46 according to Endomondo. Not a best time, but not all that bad considering I couldn't run 100 m 4 months ago. Also went to our local Target to pick up a shirt for the race and noticed some short I had purchased a couple months ago, on sale.…

4" out of my pants = NSV
Going back to work after an 8 week time off, Used the time to good effect. So good that I had to get my wife to take 4" out of the waist of my uniform pants. Now I need to wait for my new duty belt so all my equipment from falling to the ground because the old one I can't make small enough. Just one thought though ... I…

40 Lbs + in 4 months
I started with MFP Feb 2, with a starting weight of 368 lbs. My Dr. has been giving me a hard time about my weight and I have my 25th wedding anniversary coming up next year. We want to go on a European river cruise. So that means I have to fit my butt into those skinny airplane seats. After a few flights to Phoenix and…
