Size 16 to size 6- pics!
I went shopping yesterday, and tried on a pair of jeans that made me feel like a rock star! For the first time in a loooong time, shopping made me feel good about myself. My stats: Height- 5'4" Highest weight- 207 MFP starting weight- 202 Current weight- 139.8 The jeans in the picture on the left are a size 16. This…

What should I talk about re: weight loss & healthy diets?
I've been asked to speak in a sort of informal seminar-type setting about healthy eating and weight loss. The participants are all parents of special-needs children (myself included) and the overall topic of this session is encouraging parents to take care of themselves. So far, I plan to include a hand out with a sample…

NSV- Took my rings to be resized
I dropped my wedding & engagement rings off at the jeweler yesterday. I stopped wearing them in May for fear of losing them because they were so loose. I reached my goal weight in October, and decided it was finally time to have them resized. They were both a size 7, and I told the jeweler I thought I would need a 5.5,…

Husband & Wife, 174 lbs lost
This is an update to this thread: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1071725-50-pounds-80-pounds-lost. My husband and I have now lost 105 and 69 lbs, respectively. (though we're both up a few pounds today, thanks to our THREE Thanksgiving dinners! But I have no doubt we'll get that off.) Over the holiday, we visited…

Well, that wasn't worth the calories.
I have been daydreaming about a Sonic Cheezy Bacon Pretzel Dog, and saved up the calories for it today. While the pretzel bun was really good, the rest was just... meh. Bland and kind of tasteless. I actually think a plain pretzel dog would have been okay, the cheese sauce was just too overwhelmingly bland (despite the…

Re-evaluating goals
When I first joined MFP, my BMI was at the top end of obese, bordering morbidly obese. I researched BMI and decided that being a healthy weight should be my #1 goal. I am now within 3 lbs of that goal (Yea!), and it's time to re-evaluate. I know that while 145 lbs puts me in the "Healthy" category (I'm 5'4"), I still have…

50 pounds & 80 pounds lost
I've lost 50 pounds and my husband has lost 80. We finally had our son take a couple of pictures of us, so here is a comparison to what we looked like on Thanksgiving 2011.

July goal: smashed!
At the beginning of July, I set a goal for myself. I wanted to "go" at least 50 miles by the end of the month, between running & the elliptical machine. I thought this was a pretty good goal, considering I had my appendix removed on June 19. This morning, I got home from my last July run and decided to do a little math…

Some medical NSVs.
Two weeks ago today, I had my appendix removed. Tonight, I ran 2.85 miles in 32 minutes. I have no doubt that if my appendix had been removed when I was 40 pounds heavier and completely out of shape, I would have had a much slower and more painful recovery. I feel like my recovery has been really easy and had to call my…

NSV- My son is learning
My son (about to turn 10) brought home a packet of poetry that he wrote at school for mother's day. He mentioned repeatedly how I love healthy snacks and exercising- just a few months ago it probably would have been watching TV and eating Taco Bell. Here is a small sample: He and I have been running in the afternoons & on…

My first two NSVs this weekend!
I started just over a month ago on MFP, tracking calories and working out, and this weekend, I feel like I really started seeing the payoff. First, I bought a pair of capri pants to wear on a trip last fall, and they were really cute, but kept coming unsnapped every time I sat down, stood up, turned, or even thought about…
