Am I right in assuming that these new callouses I seem to have developed on my palms (well upper palms, where my fingers meet) are from my new found love of heavy lifting?

Do you add in the weight of the barbell?
Whenever you do any sort of excercise that calls for a barbell (deadlifts, squats, barbell rows and so on) do you include the weight of the bar?
