Which number should I believe? (Dumb scale)
After going a month without weighing myself and gaining a pound, I decided to start weighing myself daily to learn about how my weight fluctuates on a daily basis. I stepped on the scale this morning and it said that I GAINED 0.4 pounds since yesterday. I was disappointed, but decided to go ahead and let the scale record…

30-Day Shred calories burned
I've seen other posts where people have said to log the 30-Day Shred as circuit training, but when I tried that it said that I burned 246 calories. That's a little bit more than I burn doing 30 minutes on the stationary bike, so I'm pretty sure that's wrong. Should I just put an even 100 calories to make it simple? I would…

Should I take a rest day?
My neck and shoulders are SUPER sore from my first attempt at Jillian Michaels' 6 Week Six-Pack yesterday. (See link below.) Should I take a rest day from strength and just do cardio today, or should I do the DVD again? http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/161192-just-tried-jillian-s-6-week-six-pack

Just tried Jillian's 6 week six-pack
It was my first time, so I may have missed the first rep of a few of the moves, but other than that I managed to keep up with it. There's a side plank move and I can't do an unmoving side plank for more than a few seconds, but other than that I was able to do all the moves. I absolutely hate all the moves that make you get…

Measuring calories burned
When I lived in a condo that had a gym, I would use the calories burned that the machine told me because I was able to enter my weight. I usually burned the same or slightly more than what MFP estimated. Now I just have my much cheaper exercise bike. It doesn't take my weight into account, and it's saying I'm burning about…

Is this a good meal plan?
Is this a good example of a meal plan for someone who's trying to be healthy and lose weight? Sorry the image cuts off. See the whole thing here: http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d107/bethybeth/mealplan.jpg

I need advice for setting exercise goals.
Right now the two things I have for exercise are my stationary bike and the 30-Day Shred. (I'm on level 1.) I did the Shred once last week and was sore for a few days. I did it again yesterday and I'm much less sore already. I guess you're probably supposed to do it every single day, but I was thinking I would do it every…

My energy is decreasing instead of increasing
I'm making a desperate attempt to fit into my only nice dress by New Year's Eve. It's probably silly since I only started on Monday and I probably can't lose more than a pound or two in two weeks, but I'm trying anyway since I can't afford a new dress. I've worked out on my stationary bike every day since Monday. I haven't…

I clearly can't lose weight. Should I still exercise?
I am so upset. If you look at the chart below and the list of how my weight has progressed below, you'll see that losing weight is impossible for me and I'm going to continue to get fatter no matter what I do. I was eating a lot of fast food and pizza and such before I started working out again, then I started being really…

Should you work out the day of an event?
If you're going to a party or something that you want to look nice for, should you work out that day? I feel like getting the blood pumping might cause me to look more puffy or bloated or something.

Exercising & eating right but gaining weight
I've only been on a strict diet/exercise plan since Monday, so I could maybe understand if I stayed the same weight and didn't lose, but I've actually gained at least a pound. I was trying to be really strict for 2 weeks so I could lose at least 3 pounds by New Year's Eve, but the first week made me gain! What's wrong with…

Can't figure out how many calories...
I buy Foster Farms boneless skinless chicken breasts that come in packages with two breasts each. (I get them from Costco.) It says that a serving size is 4 oz, but it just says servings per container vary and I have no idea what 4 oz of chicken looks like. The most reasonable assumption to me would be that each breast is…

Am I overweight?
BMI calculators tell me I'm overweight and I'm sure I must be overweight, but my boyfriend says he thinks I look really good and he doesn't think I look overweight. He has normal taste in looks and doesn't prefer overweight women or anything. Do I look overweight? I'm about 5'4 and 148 pounds.

Serious self-esteem issues
I have a really serious problem with my self-esteem connected to my weight. When I'm near my goal weight I feel pretty good overall, but the more weight I gain the worse I feel about myself. I've gained a lot of weight recently and I'm probably almost 20 pounds above my goal weight right now (I'm not sure because I'm…

Walking?
If the only thing I did most of the time was walk with an incline at a brisk pace on the treadmill for 45 minutes, would that be enough? Would I need to actually run for it to be really effective? I've tried running before and I just hate it.

"Muscle weighs more than fat"
Last week was my first time going to the gym in months. I worked out 4 days last week. I went out to a restaurant twice last weekend, but both times my boyfriend and I split a plate so we'd eat less. I ate well every other day. Yesterday I was at the same weight that I was the previous Monday (when I started weighing…

Damaging effects of society's high standards
It's well known that the stick-thin women that dominate the media and are upheld as society's standard of beauty have caused millions of women to suffer from negative body image, eating disorders, and even depression. Thankfully I've never had an eating disorder, but I do have a negative body image and I've had mild bouts…

How often should you strength train?
I've always heard that you should have a day of rest in between strength training, but I have the impression that you're supposed to do Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred every day, and that has a lot of strength training. Do you have to take a day off when you work with weights, or can you do it every day if you want to?

Will this make sit-ups less effective?
My butt is very sore from the exercises I did yesterday. I wanted to try some sit-ups today, but it really hurt my rear. I tried putting a pillow under it, and it helped a lot. I've never heard of anyone doing this before, and I'm concerned that it might make the sit-ups less effective somehow. What do you think?

Does it bother you when...
Does it bother you when skinny girls complain about how many calories they've eaten or how they really want a muffin but they know they shouldn't? And I don't mean average sized girls, I mean girls who are naturally very skinny and seem like they don't gain an ounce no matter what they eat. For some reason, this really…

CHEESE
Sharp cheddar cheese is my favorite food in the world. I would have it at every meal if I could. (But I don't.) I don't like having just a little at a time. If I put only 1oz on my sandwich, it feels wasted and I get frustrated that I couldn't enjoy it properly. I've been told that I eat too much cheese. But if I stick to…

Always hungry
I always eat close to my goal of 1,220 calories, but I always end up still being hungry. Does anyone know why? I always thought if you were eating healthy things, you could eat enough so that you weren't hungry. I've only been dieting for a week and a half. Could it be that I just need to get used to it?

Losing weight without exercise?
I always assumed that you absolutely had to exercise at least 3 times a week to lose weight. But even on the days I don't work out, as long as I'm under my calorie goal the site tells me, "If every day were like today, you'd weigh ___ in 5 weeks." That makes it sound like I can still lose weight without exercising, as long…
