Restore -- Magic Dirt Water
Because why should a company spend the money to develop and market scientifically credible products when they can mix some dirt and water together, bottle it, and sell it for $30 a pop? What's some of the laughably scam-y supplements that you've come across?

Halo Top Recipe Re-post
I'm just re-posting this here (was originally in the Food/Nutrition forum) since this board doesn't move as fast, and because I know that this is the board dedicated for recipes. Enjoy! Update: People have done some experimenting with this, and it's been found that the sugar can be omitted entirely if you don't want to add…

If you love Halo Top, then you're going to want to read this...
So, I think that pretty much all of Myfitnesspal agrees that Halo Top is awesome. I also think that most of us also agree that, at almost $5.00 a pint (for most of us,) the eating an entire pint of Halo Top on a regular basis is entirely too expensive. So, as someone who likes to waste her time fooling around in the…

And to think that people complain about having to eat "bland food" while they're on a diet...
Tonight's Dinner: fritatta made with pastured eggs, pastured bacon, rainbow chard, nutritional yeast, caramalized sweet onions, and home-rendered lard. 193 calories and 13 grams of protein for 1/4 of the fritatta. Delicious! Beats "low fat dieter" cooking any day of the week!

Bit of an embarrassing question...
I don't know of this is the right forum for this or not, but it affects my workouts in a roundabout way, so I guessed that here was as good as anything else. Anyway, last night I was getting up to use the bathroom. Being too lazy to turn on the bedroom light, I ended up stubbing my little toe on one of my bedposts badly.…

Just discovered a great way to satisfy a chocolate craving
So, today I really wanted some chocolate. And I didn't have any in the house. And it was raining and icky outside, and I really couldn't be bothered to go to the store and get some. Instead, I melted 2 tablespoons of virgin, unrefined coconut oil (the kind that still tastes like coconuts) with a tablespoon of honey,…

Does anyone know where to buy a fitbit charge hr cable?
I seem to have lost my charger on vacation. :/ I know that I can order one off the website, but I really don't want to have to wait a week to get it since my fitbit will die before then, and I don't want to have to pay $15 for expedited shipping. Do any retail stores sell them?

Why are rice cakes considered a "diet food"?
They're not particularly filling. They're nutritionally void. They taste pretty yummy (not like typical cardboard-y diet food). They aren't that low-calorie. So why do people consider them "diet food"? If I was on a diet, I would eat pudding, or yogurt, or some eggs or something instead. Something more nutritious and…

I got my milk today!
I finally got my sample half-gallon of raw milk! I emailed a local farm last week asking if I could try a sample, and they told me yes. They delivered it just today. :) See, in the state where I live, you can't sell raw milk. If you want it, you either have to enter into a herd-share program or buy a cow and milk it…

A slightly motivating tidbit from today
Classes recently started back at college, and I'm enrolled in a first aid class this semester (needed a health/PE credit, and this was the easiest one), the teacher is a former EMT, and since we have so much time to learn so little material, he decided to teach us about cardiovascular disease today to give us a little…

Favorite Bread?
I really like the bread that we get in at work from Sami's Bakery. Today, we got in a special seasonal pumpkin-raisin loaf and It smelled SO GOOD. I wish that I could have gotten it, but I was out of sandwich bread, so I got some of that instead. Maybe next time I'll get the pumpkin loaf. :( I also made a pizza last night…

So I made some kale chips today...
And they turned out so yummy! I got sick and tired to paying $4 for small bags of them at the store and decided to just try to make them myself at home. I mixed some tahini, nutritional yeast, celtic sea salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and lemon juice together to form a dressing and used a little water to thin…

Question about lentils
So, tonight I cooked myself some Great Value brand lentils. The bag said that 1/4 cup dry was 80 calories, but when I came to log them, pretty much every entry had lentils at around 160 calories for 1/4 cup. That's a big difference for something as simple as lentils. I figured that all plain, dry lentils would have the…

Question about logging exercise with Fitbit
So, I recently bought myself a new Fitbit HR. So far, I'm loving it, but I have a question regarding how to log my exercise now. Previously, I just logged my regular exercise (4.0 MPH on treadmill for 50 minutes + 30 minutes of weight training) using MFP. I always knew that the MFP estimate was probably somewhat off, so I…

A Question on Frozen Salmon
I'll be fairly straitfoward; if the USDA nutrition stats for salmon list 3 oz of it as having 177 calories and 11 grams of fat, how can Great Value frozen salmon possibly have 100 calories and 1 gram of fat per 4 oz (at it is listed as having on the label)? It it simply a labeling error on Walmart's part, or do they…
