And they turned out so yummy! I got sick and tired to paying $4 for small bags of them at the store and decided to just try to make them myself at home. I mixed some tahini, nutritional yeast, celtic sea salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and lemon juice together to form a dressing and used a little water to thin it, and I mixed it all into my rainbow kale before throwing into my dehydrator at 110 degrees for about 6 hours. They came out crisp, savory, and delicious. Just as good as any you can buy, an tons cheaper too!
I'm thinking that next time, though, I may reduce the amount of lemon juice in the dressing and perhaps try for a cashew-base rather than a tahini base. I'll also probably use a more robust kale rather than rainbow kale. It makes great salads, but it kind of melts in your mouth rather than crunching once it's been dehydrated.
Anyone else have any good recipies for kale chips that they'd be willing to share?
