probably asked before - logging interval training?
I did walk/run intervals for 26 minutes. Not sure how to log it. Thoughts?

Has anyone given up chips for good?
I can't seem to control myself when it comes to chips, but I've noticed that when I eat really healthy I don't crave them and/or they don't taste very good. Has anyone given up chips? I was thinking about making a "no chips for 1 month" challenge or something just to see if I could do it. (Sorry, bad grammar!)

Majour accomplishment this week!
I mentioned this before but I need to mention it again with more detail! This week I am officially doing NON-MODIFIED PUSH-UPS! I can't believe it! I swear last week I was tiring easily with the modified ones and then *kabam* I decided to try non-modified ones and at first I did 7 - then modified - 6 - then modified - 4 -…

Anxious about people seeing me run, help me!
I've been so pumped up about running intervals in the park right in front of our home - but when it comes down to it I chicken out because there's probably going to be creepers like me looking out the window into the park and they'll see me running! I get kinda nervous. I need to overcome whatever this is because I'm…

Shying away from awesome music opportunities because of weig
I have some awesome music opportunities but when it comes down to it I feel very un-confident despite my killer skills. Since having my son I haven't performed much in public (when before I would often.) Recently I have people contacting me and wanting to make music together (I'm talking awesome opportunities - for…

I've noticed a BIG link between overeating and not getting e
Since I've been getting fresh air everyday and feeling the sun's warmth I haven't overeaten whatsoever! Normally, I'm prone to binging on the weekends. Normally, I'm tempted to overeat with my favourite foods. I'm so happy to have found this link and wanted to share! To all those who struggle with overeating - it's worth a…

Question about running intervals?
I have a 90 yard park in front of my home - it's a perfect, flat field of mowed grass. I want to start running intervals on it (or right beside it using it's length.) I was thinking of walking across it then running back - walking across and running back - walking across and running back (you get the idea) for about 20…

Proud of myself - my 2 month progress update :)
In the first month of starting my weight loss journey I lost 6.5" off my body and 9.4 lbs. In the second month of my weight loss journey I lost another 5" off my body and 4.2 lbs. The only way I can explain the incredible inches lost yet having a more mild weight loss is that I must be exchanging fat for muscle and…

Q about hair loss and hypothyroid (not MFP related)
I've been on medication for 5 months now and my hair is still falling out in mass amounts. Also, my neck has been dry and itchy for a month now (this is new.) The doc recently re-checked my hormone levels and hasn't contacted me (a good sign, since they only contact if something is abnormal.) So my question is this: once…

How did you get rid of your "weekend eating" mentality?
I'm trying to prepare ahead of time for this weekend - I don't want to stray from my diet as much as I normally do. For those who used to eat well during the week and then go downhill when the weekend hits, how did you conquer that cycle? TIA! :)

Should you always eat after cardio?
I did extra cardio today because I went over my daily calories. After burning extra calories I have a little over 300 calories left. I'd prefer not to eat (since eating too much is the reason I went and did extra cardio) - but for days like today I need to know if I should always eat after cardio or not (and also the…

Would you buy a used HRM? What about these?
Have you heard of this type of HRM? Any clue as to how old they are or how accurate? Thanks :) (ETA: One is quite old, the other I'm not sure.) http://www.usedregina.com/classified-ad/Polar-Pacer-Heart-Rate-Monitor-_14480826 http://www.usedregina.com/classified-ad/Polar-Pacer-heart-rate-monitor_14540742

Is there a group for women who are "average" height or what
or what not? I'm 5'8" - I've seen groups for "shorty's" and the group in the post for 5'9" or taller. What about people like me!? Is there a group that exists? :/

My hubby hates brown rice
He won't eat it. Is there any kind of rice that looks and tastes like white rice but has the benefits of brown? Probably a lost cause, lol.

Going over recommended protein intake
Should I be concerned? Before MFP I wouldn't think twice about having extra protein.

Very proud of myself (pushup related)
I'm stoked! When I started back up strength training 5 weeks ago I could only do 6 push-ups in a row (modified version). Today I can do 15! I love it! My goal is to be how I was pre-baby and be able to do 15 non-modified push-ups! Time will tell ~:) ***Edited to change wording!***

Let's all kick @$$ this week!!!

How long of a rest should you have between sets?
If your working the same muscle group (not a circuit)? Does it depend on if you're doing a lower amount of reps vs. higher? Thx :)

Any hypothyroidic, breastfeeding mamas want to be friends?
Hi, I'm Hails. I had my first 11 months ago and am still breastfeeding. 6 months after I gave birth (and after gaining all 18 lbs + back that I had lost within the first week of giving birth) I was diagnosed as hypothyroidic (confirmed through blood tests.) Unlike most breastfeeding mothers, I didn't lose weight - I…

Eating, exercising, breastfeeding and calories... what a MES
This is such a mess. I wish MFP had an option to "block out" calories so I don't need to see them - but to keep the food diary to make sure WHAT I'm eating is good and healthy. I'd much rather listen to my body's hunger/satisfied signals. I find that when I can see the calories I get a little too much into counting. My…

Should I recalculate my nutrition and exercise goals?
I've lost over 10 lbs now and MFP is asking me this question. Should I?

If cheating helps boost the metabolism should you still work
If cheating helps boost the metabolism should you still work off those calories? Edited to add: But if you work off those calories MFP just tells you to re-eat them... :: eyebrow raise ::

The calories burned estimates seem a bit high, no?
I'm finding that when I add an exercise the amount of calories stuns me. Does it go by your height/weight at least, or is it literally a VERY rough estimate?

Cheated all week-end long and still lost weight?
I know a cheat day can be helpful in boosting your metabolism... but I seriously ate horrible - in choice and amount - and checked to see what damage I had done and I managed to LOSE! And I'm hypothyroidic! Can someone explain this to me? :: raises eyebrow ::
