Does anyone run and pace themselves by the bpm (beats per minute) of music? is there a program that tells you how many bpm a song has? Or can speed up or slow down a songs bpm?

Do you burn the same calories running 5k or walking 5k. I say yes, they're equal calories. Right?

I love to run!
I got bored on the elliptical, and dont believe the distances and speeds on the elliptical at all (can i really run several 8 minute miles in a row? no I cant, but i do on the elliptical).
