How did you know this time was it?
I can't even tell you the number of times I have begun changing my lifestyle for the better, and then after a few days/weeks gone back to my old ways. Each time I tell myself "This is going to be it, I'm going to lose weight", but so far none of the times have stuck. I am wondering for those of you who are success stories…

How often do you slip up?
I apologize if that subject line comes off as negative. I wish that once I said I am starting a diet, I could stick with it until the end, but the truth is I always slip up. It has been one week since I decided to be a dedicated logger, and I just went far over my calories tonight (knowingly, but not caring). It was a…

Time For Us To Face The Truth?
I am looking for honest opinions here! The other day I had a guy who is extremely healthy and fit (and whose opinion means a lot to me) say that it bothers him not that I am fat, but that I know how to fix it and choose not to. (Now a little side note- I wouldn't say that I "choose not to be healthy", but rather I have not…

So tell us...is being skinny worth it?
I know someone who lost weight and maintained it for a bit, but then realized he wasn't able to enjoy life as much. He sort of thought "life is too short to be worrying about being thin". He has gained back the weight and now is a jolly, older man with no regrets regarding his lifestyle. I have such high hopes for how much…

Success in Summer vs. Winter?
I'm just curious what the experiences out there have been.... Does anyone find it easier to lose weight in the summer or winter? Maybe there is no difference and it's simply about dedication, but I could see the summer being an easier time to get motivated to be outside and shed those pounds for all the fun summer…

Betting on Weight Loss
I have an interesting way of motivation to lose weight. I have literally just made a bet that I will lose weight. How it works it that there's this website ( dietbetter.com ) where you can place a bet that you will lose either 4% of your weight in 4 weeks or 10% in 6 months. I chose the 10% since I actually have about 60…

One step forward and 2 steps back
How do you remain constant with your diet plan, seeing as how being consistent is the only way to truly succeed? I go through cycles of eating very healthy and being a stellar myfitnesspal user for about a week, but then I have a couple weeks of returning to my old ways. I eventually have those days where I look in the…

Best Part About Losing Weight
To those of you awesome people who have reached your goal, or are close to it, what have you found to be the best part about being your ideal size? I love to fantasize about how great it will be to run without so much extra weight, or wear anything in my closet, or just having people notice the change. Please share with…

Going over on your calories
Hello everyone, I am new to myfitnesspal but I understand the goal is to stay within the calorie limit they give you. I try to do this but some days I feel like 1200 calories is just not enough. Should I try to avoid going over my calories? Is staying under the calorie limit generally everyone's goal on here?
