Feeling fat, not fit - any advice?
Hi all, I would value your perspective. I have been bulking since September, which has been tough for someone who has spent her entire adult life strictly keeping at around 110lbs (5'6"). My weight fluctuates massively with my periods/what I eat, but at the moment I am 122lbs, which is 2lb/month average. I was aiming for…

Bulking but HUNGRY and gaining too fast :-(
I am a couple of months into my first bulk, and have a problem: I am so damn hungry all the time, but if I increase my calorie target above the current level my weight shoots up way beyond what I can reasonably gain as muscle. I am a woman, so can't put on muscle as fast as the men (jealous - you bet!) so am bulking with…

Am I overdoing the protein???
Hi all, I would appreciate your opinions on my food diary. I am trying to bulk at present. Stats: 5'6" 112lbs Calories: 2,600 plus extra for exercise Programme: German Volume Training 3xper week (each session takes about an hour), some cardio with friends at weekends I have recently upped my protein intake to compensate…

Question about calories in Pumpkin
In honour of the season, and our American friends, I have baked a couple of pumpkin in my slow cooker (baked whole, no oil etc). But logging it is proving a nightmare, as there are lots of different "pumpkin flesh only" type entries in the nutrition section, with calorie counts ranging from 20 Kcal/100g to over 50…

Egg White Protein Powder - Help!
Has anyone got any tips on what to do with Egg white protein powder? Despite adding flavourings, I am not too keen on it as a shake. I would love to be able to use it the same way as I do liquid egg whites - eg. desserts, omletes, whisking it into fluffy goodness and making protein fluff etc. Does anyone have any tips or…

Answers on a postcard!!!
OK - so on a whim I bought a packet of Soya flour, thinking it will be a good way of increasing protein intake. This is because I frequently have to grab snacks on the go, and biscuits fit neatly in my bag/can be eaten whilst driving. I also like the 'crunch' of biscuits. However biscuits tend to be mostly carbs and…

Starting again
Well after all the effort I put into my first bulk, I got completely floored by (1) a horrendous dose of flu that I (typical me) tried to work through, and ended up losing 2kg in a week and has left me feeling like Superman does around a load of Kryptonite  (2) massive work stress :grumble: (3) ending up in loads of…

Homemade Ice Cream 150kcals per batch
Have just treated myself to a little ice cream maker off eBay. Batch number one is currently sitting in the freezer. It is slightly granita-like, but very yummy. Whole lot (about a litre) is only 150kcals, and I am going to add blitzed banana and honey to the next batch. Ingredients: 1 litre unsweetened almond milk 1 egg…

Steel Cut Oats
After searching, I finally found some steel cut / pinhead oats in a healthfood shop here in the UK. I am looking for yummy ideas to try with them. Any favourite recipes that anyone would be willing to share? :flowerforyou:

Weight belt help!
:blushing: Dumb question I know, but I am not sure which size belt to get. I am a woman, and as the only ones sold locally are men's I can't find anywhere that sells ones small enough so I can try one on. I am having to venture online. I am looking at Harbinger as they seem to do ladies ones, but don't know if I should go…

HELP - no Deadlifts/Squats allowed :-(
Due to a pelvis injury, I am going to have to stop doing any squats or deadlifts (even straight leg as I can't get the bar up at the start of the set). This is gutting as I love them. Can anyone advise on exercises that use similar muscle groups that I can do while my pelvis is healing? :ohwell:

DrNadya's Bulking Log
Well, after a very disheartening few days of not being able to lift what I feel I SHOULD be able to lift, I have decided to start a log to see in black & white where I am. All comments, tips, advice, or just random kicks up the *kitten* welcome! ;-) The reason for all of this is: A) I want to be able to lift more, and i…

Ground Rice
For some reason I picked up a pack of this at the supermarket yesterday, but have absolutely no idea what to do with it :embarassed: I know you can make rice pud, and vaguely recall it mentioned in biscuits. Does anyone have any good & healthy recipe ideas?

What is 'Good' lifting progress?
I know this is a dumb question and that everyone is different, but how much/fast should your lifts be increasing? What is 'normal' progress? I ask because I am a relative newbie (on week 11 of a 12-week programme, where the aim is one increment of weight each week) and seem to be constantly struggling to meet the target…

halogen ovens???
I saw one of these hugely reduced, and as I live alone I can't justify switching on the main oven just for me. So there it sits, all shiny on my worktop. Now what the heck do I do with it? :ohwell: Can anyone point me in the direction of healthy recipes for it (prefereably ones with nutrition info to log on MFP)? At…

Gaining but starving!
'Trying' to do a healthy bulk. I know that us females can only put on about 0.5lb/0.25kg per week without it just becoming fat, and I don't want to have to cut afterwards so am aiming for a 'clean' bulk. Problem is, I am starving all the time, and so find myself restricting what I eat out of fear I will overeat! I choose…
