Ideas needed.... getting heart rate up
I need ideas on how to get my heart rate up. Right now I'm walking, which I lovve to do. But my HRM. (just started using one), shows that my heart rate isn't high enough to be in the weight loss zone. Is it better.....
Is it better to take a longer slower walk, or a faster shorter walk. My treadmill gives me more calories burnt for a longer, little bit slower walk. But I feel like I'm getting a better work out, meaning I work into a sweat and my heart rate goes up higher, if I take a faster shorter walk. Any comments/ideas?

10,000 steps?....
I've heard that a person should take 10,000 steps a day. 2000 steps in a mile, so unless I get a walk in every day, (which I will try), I won't make that many. Does anyone else track their steps and how many do you get on an average day?
