Hi, am looking for someone to "bond" with. I work 12 hr rotating shifts and it makes eating right almost impossible and even harder to get my exercise in. When I am on my month of nights all I want to do is sleep, and at work I find myself making bad food choices because the kithen is closed and I'm eating out of vending machines.
Anyone else with this issue and HOW DO WE CONQOUR IT?????

me!!! I work two back to back 18 hr shifts as my main workweek and then pick up random shifts as I can. Makes it rough. Planning is key!!! I pack and log everything the night before. The other obstacle is avoiding all the treats my patients try and feed me!

hallo!!! This one is right up my alley I drive a truck from 7pm to 6am three times a week. And that's after I been up since 11am. Very long day! That whole "don't eat after 8pm" is like folklore in my life lol! no way can I work all night and not eat anything! On top of that, there's the trip back which is only 6pm to 2am! What I do is space my meals out to every three or four hours and stretch it out to five meals. like 300-400 cals each. On the trip back I can only fit four meals but I still get more than 1200 cals that way. I know I know you said you problem is finding good food to eat. "truck driver's nightmare" believe me. What I did is I started packing meal replacement powder in my truck. You can get a bottle of milk or O.J. can't ya? Or some of those brands out there don't taste too bad with just water. But anyway, 300 cals a pop and ya get through the night easy:) Hope I helped

I've found soup to be a huge help. It's easy to slip a can or two into my purse. The progresso light soups or even the regular ones are not bad calorie count at all even when I eat the whole can for a meal and you don't add anything to them like water or milk. My favorites are the Italian Wedding soup and the Creamy Chicken and Rice. The sodium is high on the regular ones though so be careful.

I never thought of the mixes! You sound like you have it tough also. I will give it a try, anything is worth a chance. I love oj, so I'll just make sure to take some to work with me. Thanks for the sound advise and keep up the positive attitude. I love it!!

I LOVE soups, why didn't I think of that?? Sometimes the easiest solutions are the farthest away.
