What do you LIKE about your body?
All too often we're too negative about our bodies focussing only on the bits we want to improve. So what do you LIKE? I love my new legs- since I started running they look so thin and defined that I can't believe they're mine!

Man advice needed!
Hi guys I have recently realised that I'm in love with a very good friend of mine. He's in a relationship and, although there is definitely a sexual attraction between us, he's been with his girl for over ten years and I would never break that up. To make matters worse we also work together. Sigh. We've known each other…

Ab classes making stomach saggy. Why?
I've lost a lot of weight and I've done ok with saggy skin so far. Some bits need toning but nothing major. A couple of weeks ago I started to do tummy classes and I've noticed that when I'm on all fours the middle of my stomach hangs down unattractively. It definitely didn't do that before I started the classes. What's…

Need some help staying motivated please!
I'm now over 70lbs down from my highest weight and whilst that is awesome, I'm still about 7 - 14lbs away from where I want to be. I'm currently a UK size 10-12 (US 6 - 8) and just want to be a solid 10. Problem is, I'm kinda loving the new body and having fun - which although isn't making me gain any of the weight back,…

Two NSVs in one day!
First, I was a massive klutz at work so I managed to spill my cup of tea all down my white linen shirt and change into a ribbed black t-shirt. I had a client coming in so needed to borrow a jacket. I borrowed my boss' jacket. It was a UK size 8 (US size 4) and it FREAKING fit!!! (I mean, it must be a bloody big size 8 but…

Why can't you spot reduce?
I don't really understand this. If I lift weights with only one arm all the time I will have one arm which is noticeably more toned and muscly than the other. This certainly happened to my brother after an accident. So... why doesn't this work with abs or your bum? And if it doesn't work, why bother doing abs classes etc.?…

If someone was rude to you when you were fat...
and now want to get in your pants. What would you do? I would usually say screw him but he is REALLY hot and I've been known to take things the wrong way a fair few times in the past (:explode: ) so I'm not all that sure he was being that rude before anyway - more like 'thanks but no thanks'. Would I be totally debasing…

How to be more feminine?
Any other women out there always felt quite masculine? I think a lot of it was weight-related for me but I'm still tall and quite broad-shouldered and DEFINITELY am more male when it comes to emotions. Please don't make me talk about them. Ever. Anyway - since I'm sort of keeping an eye out for single guys I think showing…

NSV with my shorts!
Today I wore short running shorts with leggings. After I was done with my run I took the leggings off and wandered round town in the shorts (I know - sweaty betty - don't even!). Anyway - they DIDN'T RIDE UP! I didn't spend the entire day pulling them down. It was genius. Woop woop!

You can only save 5 people in the world...
Just for a bit of fun - ignore all the obvious ones - spouse, civil partner, kids, BF/GF, friends, other family etc. You're going to have to repopulate the earth with these people. I say lets make the time fun... I choose: 1. Liev Schrieber 2. Hugh Jackman 3. Stephen Fry (OK - not so much for the repopulation but he'd make…

Challenge for runners - anybody interested?
Anybody up for a beat your personal best by 1st July challenge? My PB for the 5K is currently 25:46 - I'm aiming for 24:59! Anybody fancy having a weekly catch-up for motivational purposes and see how close you can get to your chosen PB by the 1st July?

Tips to increase self-confidence?
I'm still struggling to adjust to my new body and realise that having been obese all my life, I don't treat myself with the self-respect that I'm beginning to think I should- particularly when it comes to men. I'm still so surprised when someone chats me up that I'll find myself responding positively, regardless of whether…

Runners' legs - good or bad?
Hey all I run a lot and over the last couple of months I've noticed my legs becoming what I'd call 'runner's legs'. When they're bent I have hollows where the fat pads on the inside of my knees used to be (I love that!), my thighs have always been muscular but they have definitely streamlined and they now don't meet all…

Why do I plateau every 10lbs?
Since I got down to 180, I seem to stick every ten lbs and then suddenly drop 7 or 8lbs in a couple of weeks then the other couple drift off then nothing again for a while. Been stuck at 160 now for a couple of weeks. I think I'm doing the right things- I do calorie cycling so I deliberately have a couple of days per week…

Why are stomach exercises so hard?
I'm fit and healthy and do a lot of running and sit ups, press ups etc. Yesterday I did my first tums class- which was full of hot men and it REALLY hurt. I kept going- because of the hot men I confess- but I wanted to cry. I can also feel it today, although it's not too bad. I know this just means that running 50kms a…

NSV - my 'thin' dress doesn't fit!!
I got given a dress by a friend about two months ago and I looked awesome in it (if I say so myself!!!) I tried it on yesterday and it's TOO BIG! First time since I started this weight loss journey that I've stopped fitting into things that are designated 'thin' items in my wardrobe. I am genuinely now the thinnest I've…

Frame size...
I'm 5ft 8", broad-shouldered, long legs, big boobs and GIANT man hands (bigger than most of the men I know...although whether that says something about me or about them I'm not sure!). I've always assumed I was large-framed. I'm now 162lbs and a small size 12 (UK). I'm aiming for 139 but seriously wondering whether that's…

Frightened of being a new weight...
So, I'm now around 20lbs away from my goal and I'm reaching the point where I haven't been this weight since before I hit puberty. I know this sounds like an odd thing to say but I've no idea what I'll look like when I get there. I think I'm frightened of being disappointed - you know...I've lost all this weight and I'm…

48lbs down - 23lbs to go!
Having some issues with photo posting but here goes! At my highest weight (around 220 - 230lbs pre-MFP): <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63650762@N02/5795234958/" title="Fat me 2005 by jmgj27, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3309/5795234958_47d3967d6e.jpg" width="375" height="500" alt="Fat me…

What do you do when weight isn't an excuse any more?
So- I'm single and have been for a while. Hasn't worried me at all until recently. I just always used my weight as the reason- you know, who would fancy someone as fat as me etc. Now I'm pretty much normal weight and a UK size 12, I don't feel that I can legitimately use the 'I'm fatter than all my friends' excuse. Which…

Cheap, tasty food ideas...
Hey guys- I'm broke at the moment and am trying to live off £1 a day for food. I've been using a lot of cheap soup but would really love some more exciting ideas! I do have rice, cous cous and pasta in my cupboard but want to keep cals in check. Have access to relatively cheap veg but as a meat eater feel a bit cheated…

Heart rate question...
I've always been pretty fit- even at my heaviest. However, I've noticed over the last couple of months that my resting heartrate of around 60 has dropped to around 48. Given I'm a runner but not an Olympic athlete (!) should I be worried? What about you other fitness fans out there?

Help in changing up fitness regime...
Hello all! I've realised that my body's got used to my current fitness regime. Anybody got any ideas how to challenge it again! No weights please- I do very little weights as I used to bodybuild and put muscle on extremely easily- cardio's what I'm after! This is what I do now: Mon, Tues and Thurs- start with sub 28 min…

Ever feel like you have to work really hard to lose weight?
I seem to hear from a lot of people that they've just 'cut out biscuits' or 'taken up walking'. I run 50 - 60kms a week, do a bunch of other exercise and keep my net calories down to 1200 - 1500 calories and although I've lost a bunch of weight, I certainly won't lose anything without that much effort. Sigh. When I took up…

With your new thinner, sexier self, which celebrity would yo
I have to confess I think I'd go for Gerard Butler...you just know he'd be fun! What about you?

How painful does it have to be for you to stop exercising?
I run about 50 - 60kms a week and weight train (basically, I love exercising!) but have a long-standing problem with my knee. My consultant has basically said to me that I shouldn't be able to run but, since I've been running on my knee for over a decade, she's happy for me to carry on provided it doesn't really hurt.…

Keeping your boobs when losing weight? (One for the girls!)
I've dropped 40lbs and have gone from a 36F to a 34E, which I'm pretty happy about (although they do seem pretty small to me!). I'm intending to head on down to 140lbs (when I can FINALLY break the 170 barrier, sigh!) and I'm wondering if I'll hang on to my boobs. My family's all busty so I've got my fingers crossed. What…

Going up and down the same few lbs...
I've been going up and down from 170 - 175 for the last couple of weeks and it's starting to really irritate me. For some reason it's always really difficult for me to break through the 12 stone barrier (I'm 5ft 8" so I'm now only a few lbs from being a 'normal weight' so it's doubly frustrating). I think, given that I had…

Need motivation!
Hi everybody I'm new here although I've been reading some of the posts out there and found them really useful. I've managed to lose 37lbs so far (was 39 but having ONE day off at Easter meant I piled on 3lbs apparently - still hoping it was largely water weight!) and I'm happy with that. BUT...I'm having a few issues with…
