Breastfeeding at 20 months
I've done extensive research and short of expressing (expressing just does not work for me) and measuring the amount, how can I guesstimate how many calories I burn daily from this? I'm told at newborn it's about 500 calories daily, but I don't know if it'll be more or less now that she's bigger... she eats a lot of solid…

Short people (below 5'3" and jogging.
Is it possible to actually run fast? I'm 25, 4'11" (149cm) and my BMI is currently about 30, it was 37 two years ago. I completed a 5k race today in just under 42 minutes, I ran the whole way and have completed the C25k a few months ago so felt I had improved my speed significantly however I just cannot go any faster than…

Cardio vs weight training
I've managed to lose over 2 stone (yay me!) and I want to lose roughly another 2 stone, I lost the first two with watching calories, eating cleaner and cardio based work outs... now I want to tone up a lot more (like my stomach, thighs and arms), but I don't want to become 'muscley'. Cardio I am finding multiple reasons to…

Tiny people (under 5'3")
How do you increase your pace? I just finished week 5 day 2 and when doing the 8 minute run I wanted to see if I could actually do it in 3/4 mile, I didn't, I only managed 0.6 of a mile, is it possible for people with short legs to actually do it? I'm 4'11" and still have a BMI of over 35 btw.

It only works 75% of the time and then it drops out a few times throughout the workout "Check Heart Rate Monitor" then most of the time 20 seconds later is says "Signal OK" and continues with the workout, sometimes it just wont find it again…

More or less calories?
Bit of history. Started officially trying to lose weight March 2012. Managed to lose around 15-25lbs in a year. It was slow but I was OK with that as I'd taken a few months off in Autumn. I lost the weight by putting my calories to 1200. Using a pedometer and walking for about half an hour 5 times a week. I also did a few…

Shin splints
I started MFP in March 2012... I quickly found out via jogging/walking that my shins REALLY hurt... apparently this was shin splints, very common in beginners blah blah. Told to take a few weeks off my feet and to avoid running on pavements when I did go back to it. I went back to it after 3 weeks, and of course, on day 1,…
