Please bring back negative quick add calories!
I've been on MFP for over a decade and just realized the ability to use "Quick Add Calories" to deduct calories from an entry is no longer! I ate a taco recipe today and didn't eat the two corn tortillas... I used to be able to just enter -100 Quick Add calories to handle this. Please bring this back! It's super convenient…

100 Miles in July 2012 - How far can you go?
Looks like someone needs to kick this month off, so why not me? I'm not actually planning on running 100 miles, but rather will run according to my training plan (which should get me somewhere near 60 miles or so, I think) and don't plan on logging my walking miles... So far, I've run 3.01 miles in July! How 'bout…

Woodway Treadmills
Have any of you ever run on one of these? Better yet, have any of you ever owned one? Does it live up to the hype? I'm doing some research to buy a treadmill and someone recommended this brand, with the caution that they're expensive up front, but have basically zero maintenance over the life. I've never run on one (am…

Long run in Toronto - trails/paths?
Does anyone happen to be from the Toronto area? I grew up there, but haven't lived there for 20 years... I'm going home for a visit in a few weeks and need to get a 20 miler in. My parents live in the Islington/Eglinton area, so I was thinking of joining up with the path along Eglinton Ave., but there are a ton of lights…

Just completed my first marathon!
I just wanted to share my excitement; I just got home from Walt Disney World after running my first marathon there (much) earlier this morning. I'm super happy with how things went, so thought this would be a good place to share my little personal victory.

Has anyone run these marathons?
I'm looking to pick my next marathon and am targeting the June/July timeframe. Has anyone run any of the following marathons? If so, what were your opinions of them? - Santa Rosa marathon (08/26/12 - a bit later than I want, but will consider) - Toronto marathon (05/06/12 - a bit earlier than I want, but still in the…

Best marathons?
Having just completed my first marathon this past Sunday, I'm working on figuring out what my next goal will be and thought you guys might have some opinions on the best marathons to run. I don't know for sure that my next goal will be another marathon, but it's certainly in the running (so to speak), so I thought I'd ask…

Anyone training for their first marathon?
I'm training for my first marathon (running the Walt Disney World marathon this January 8) and was just wondering if there are any other first timers out there?

New to the group - 1st time marathoner!
Hi all - I just joined the group (thanks for the invite, arc918!) and wanted to introduce myself; I'm currently just shy of 7 weeks away from my first marathon. I've got my training program and am following it with religious fervour... my long run this Sunday will be my first 18-miler (ran just over 16 miles the weekend…

Who's running a Turkey Trot this Thanksgiving?
I'm running a 5K Turkey Trot this Thursday in an attempt to work off some of that stuffing in advance. How many other Turkey Trotters do we have out there? Gobble gobble!

What's the theory behind eating more calories to lose weight
If I'm above "starvation level" (which, for the record, I find hard to believe is set at the same 1200 calorie value for everyone, which is how I think it is in MFP(??)), why would I eat more calories to lose weight? If a 3,500 calorie deficit is equivalent to 1 lb. lost, why wouldn't I just want to maximize the deficit?…

How do you determine your goal weight?
I'd love to hear your thoughts about this... my goal weight is somewhat arbitrarily set, at least for now. I'm already in a healthy BMI range; just trying to drop some more pounds to 1) have less to lug around for my upcoming first marathon for which I'm currently training and 2) generally look leaner. I definitely have…

FINALLY unstuck!!!
Sorry - needed to share my excitement. After five (count 'em - 5!!!) weekly weigh-ins at precisely the same weight (down to the decimal place) I finally managed to get myself unstuck! Thank goodness... I think I was going to throw the scale out the window if it showed the same number again!
