Bodymedia core vs. link
I'm looking into getting a bodymedia device. I love RunKeeper - but I'd like to know how many calories I burn the rest of the day. I was wondering what people's experience has been with the core and the link armbands. I was looking at the link, but didn't know if it would be really worth it... I heard that connection tends…

KT tape or ankle compression?
I have issues while running with my Achilles tendon and was wondering what I should do. I had a friend recommend KT tape (but she doesn't use it for her ankle). I was wondering if anyone had any experience with KT tape vs. the ankle compression sleeve? Thanks!

Whole30 and Kids?
I'm reading about the Whole30 program and am very willing to give it a try. I've tried just about everything else over the years so why not? In the book there are testimonials about kids having various ailments and benefiting from the program. I have a teenager - who is still growing by leaps and bounds, and a three year…

Plus size wetsuits in Canada?
I have a question for those north of the border. I need to get a wetsuit for the Banff Tri this September. The problem? To get a wetsuit to fit my weight, I'd have to be 6' tall. Does anyone know of anywhere I can get a plus size wetsuit in Canada? If I order one from the states, I have to deal with huge shipping costs.…

Running in ice and snow
Hello fellow runners... I recently jumped into this world of running after moving from the Texas heat and humidity to Canada. This past summer was fantastic and I completed in my first half marathon. Winter will soon be upon us and I'm not sure how to handle running in the cold, snow, and ice. I'm looking for suggestions…

Healthy Slow cooker cookbook
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a slow cooker cookbook. I'm wanting good recipes (obviously), but I also want healthy recipes. I found one that was slow cook recipes from the south. A lot of my childhood comfort food was in there, but that type of food is one reason that I'm in the situation I'm in now -…

No grain diet?
A friend of mine has been following Dr. Mercola's No Grain Diet. Her and her husband have cut all grains and sugar out of their diet. They have been doing this for a month and when they had their bloodwork done both had dropped their blood pressure significantly. Her husband has had to add some notches to his belt and both…

Back pain after "long run"
Today I did a run:walk (3min run:2 min walk) for 13 km. This is the farthest I've gone and I was very proud of myself, even if my "run" is someone else's "jog" and maybe even someone's "walk". At km 10 I walked the rest of the way b/c my tendonitis was acting up. I got home and everything was fine. I was pretty stiff but…

Need advice and tips to stay with it...
Hey all! I have always had this issue when it comes to food choices. I'll be really good for a day or two or even three - a couple of weeks have passed and I'm still doing great. I'll rock along making good choices and things are looking fantastic. I keep saying to myself - "Self, this is it! This time we are going to…

Howdy!
I've spent my entire life trying to battle my weight and have always lost (the battle - not the weight). I can't count the number of times I've declared "This is it! I've had enough! I'm going to lose the weight this time!" - only to fail. I'm trying to shift my focus from losing weight to being active and enjoying life.…
