Flat-footed Runners?
So, I want to be a runner, but I'm completely flat-footed*. Before I really get into running (I just walk now, jogging just a bit) I want to buy new shoes. Any other flat-footed runners out there? Do your shoes have an arch? Low arch? Anyt tips or hints? (* or maybe it's just a really low arch--should I post a pic? LOL)

Study: Woman Fat, Man Thin, Could Be a Rocky Road
Just saw the following article and wondered what others thought. I'm not seeing anyone right now and the last person I dated was also overweight, so I can't really speak to the issue. Does anyone have any experience with this or relate to it? Here's the link:…

Today is day 15 for me, and tonight after work, I'll be doing my second Fit Test. I'm excited to see how much better I've gotten. So, what were your initial Fit Test results? How much do you hope to improve? I'll post my numbers later.

. . . has anyone attempted this? I missed a few workouts, so I was thinking about doubling up for a few days to make up for it. Thoughts?

NSV - Jumping Jacks
Last night, as part of a team challenge, I did 50 jumping jacks. I HATE jumping jacks and have previously complained about how much it hurts my buddha belly. Since starting Insanity, my knees are hurting. But I got 'em done. I was really surprised by how much my fitness level has improved. I was ready to do ten sets of…

Strange NSV
So when I started working out in June, I tried to do jumping jacks and THEY HURT. So much that I wouldn't do them and was scared to do them. What hurt? No, not my knees or ankles. It was my gut. It was that stoopid pouch / beer gut / buddha belly. Whenever I hit the ground, I could feel gravity having its way with my belly…

Major NSV: (for me, anyway)
Just walked up all 11 flights of stairs to my apartment and my legs feel fine--no soreness, no knocking knees. Feel like I could do it again right now. :drinker: Back when I moved into this apartment in March, I climbed all the stairs just to see how long it would take. I was huffing and puffing. When I finally reached the…

NSV "You Look Great!"
Tonight I was heading out to dinner and I ran into a coworker of mine and his family. As I was getting ready to be on my way he said, "Have you lost weight?" Me: (big smile) YES! And you're the first one to notice! **high five** Coworker: Yeah, I've only caught glimpses of you here and there, so we haven't talked, but it's…

Whole 9 - The Whole 30 Program
http://whole9life.com/2010/05/whole-30-v2/ I came across this and was wondering if any of you have done this or are considering doing this. Just wanted to get some background on it before I bought the e-book (about 40 dollars). I found this maybe a month ago and was thinking about it. But lately, I've been having a lot of…

Online Timer?
I'm looking for an online timer that I can set to go off at regular intervals so I don't have to watch my clock like a hawk. For example, I'm supposed to do as many of one type of strength training exercise as I can in thirty seconds and then rest for thirty. So how do y'all keep track of time when working out? I was…
