Strange NSV

So when I started working out in June, I tried to do jumping jacks and THEY HURT. So much that I wouldn't do them and was scared to do them. What hurt? No, not my knees or ankles. It was my gut. It was that stoopid pouch / beer gut / buddha belly. Whenever I hit the ground, I could feel gravity having its way with my belly fat and IT KILLED. (Not to mention the poor girls. But being top heavy all my life, I've gotten kinda used to that.)
Yesterday, I finally took on some jump squats as part of a team challenge here on MFP. No pain! It was amazing, but each time I landed, there wasn't that awful feeling. I'm so excited! I'm looking forward to adding more jumping jacks, squat jumps and other similar moves.
This is definitely a NSV, because the scale is not being my friend these days. And according to the measurements I took yesterday, I'm still the same size. It's a bit of a mystery because I don't know what changed, but I'm glad it did.
Anyone else have this happen??

YES! OMG! I had to do jumping jacks for a challenge on here and after two weeks, every other day except Sundays, I gave up. I couldn't believe how my belly fat jiggled and how much it hurt. I was so humiliated I didn't say a word. I just stopped doing that challenge... It even made a funny sound. I'm not sure if it was audible to anyone else, had there been anyone else around me, but I haven't even THOUGHT about trying to do another jumping jack because of that experience. ... Not sure if I'm even ready to give it a try now... LOL BLUSHING
I'm so happy for you! Congratulations!0 -

I have the same problem - my solution was to wear my Spanx type underwear to work out in. It works fantastic to hold everything in so it doesn't flop but I have to admit it is a little bit of a challenge to get it back off.0
