Calorie deficit while sick
I wanted to ask your opinion on running a calorie deficit while sick. I was suddenly struck down with a really sore throat which over the course of today has gotten worse. I'm now also cold and shivery. I know that exercising while sick is just a really bad idea. You need to recover however should I put MFP on maintenance…

I suppose it's a good excuse
I just completed my food diary for the day and was 18 calories under. I did not expect MFP to tell me that would cause me to go into starvation mode. Really? I suppose it a good excuse to eat that extra 10 cal jelly that's in the fridge.

What to believe?
I bought myself some sugar free jelly to make the other day. I looked at the packet and it's apparently 6 cals a portion. The problem is the maths doesn't add up. So 100g of the mixture is 295 cals. Each packet is sold in 23g. So that's 68 cals per packet. Each packet makes 4 portions of 140 mls. So 68 cals divided by 4…

Full but hungry
Does any one else constantly battle this? It's getting ridiculous. I drink 2 litres of water a day but still constantly find I am hungry even when I feel full. Even drink big glasses of water after eating doesn't help. I eat a very varied diet, low as possible in salt (I don't like the taste of salt). I rarely eat…

How do you cope with unsupportive freinds and family?
Family I currently live at home with my Mum. While she says she's supportive of me losing weight she's very good at seeing that I'm watching what I'm eating and bringing in tempting foods. She'll then get upset if I don't eat them and tell me I'm wasting food. She's also started complaining we're spending too much money on…

Watch it
I noticed today that I had to move my wrist watch one notch up.

The Sugar in Milk
All I keep seeing on the boards about sugar is constantly about glucose and fructose, how they are processed the same etc... I need a little help. However there is sugar in milk in the form of lactose. Can anyone tell me if it is processed by the body in the same way as the other two sugars? Thanks.

Touch your toes?
Random question but I'll ask it anyway. I haven't been able to touch my toes since I was about 8. Can you touch your toes?

Food before and after the gym
So what are some good whole food to eat before and after a work out. I've gathered protein is good for after, but what about before? Also any recommendations of the kind of protein. I don't want to eat protein bars or shakes, only whole foods please. Same for the before, no bars or artificial drinks. Please and thanks.

Very Expensive Pee
So what's your take on vitamin supplements? Are they good for just creating very expensive pee or is it worth taking them to help boost your intake of vitamins?

Arm workouts for girls
Right now I'm currently hideously unfit but when I get lighter/fitter I want to end up with arms like Rutina Wesley. If you don't know who she is she plays Tara Thornton in True Blood. So, could anyone point a complete novice to some exercises that I can do that will start to point me in the right directions for building…

Good Tai Chi DVD's
Yesterday I tried out the only Tai Chi DVD I own. Sadly it's very badly edited and they really don't show you how to stand or what positions you should be in properly. They keep cutting away to a different shot (that most of the fime doesn't show you the part of the body they are talking about) and it's really hard to…

Strenght Training that can be done at home
I can't afford a gym so getting on the weight lifting machines is not happening. Can anyone suggest or point me in the direction of a website/dvd that has some strength training exercises I can do at home? Please and thanks.

Tesco's Diets?
Is any one else doing this? Has any one ever done it? I've just signed up. It's a subscription service and it basically gives you a menu that calorie controlled and is suited to your needs. If you want you can even order the food from Tesco online. I was just wondering if anyone had done it and your thoughts.

Oh me Oh my!
I just realised I've not posted a hello topic. Hi I'm Anya. I've been using this site off and on. It's nice to meet you all. I'm trying to get back to a normal BMI because I haven't been there since I was about 13. It'll make a nice change to be able to fit into the clothes I like. And of course walk up the stairs without…
