Calorie deficit while sick

I wanted to ask your opinion on running a calorie deficit while sick.
I was suddenly struck down with a really sore throat which over the course of today has gotten worse. I'm now also cold and shivery. I know that exercising while sick is just a really bad idea. You need to recover however should I put MFP on maintenance until it passes?
*You might see this twice because my sick brain went and put it in the fitness and exercise forum first*
:grumble:

I would eat at maintenance until the illness passes. Drink plenty of fluids as well.0

I would not force a deficit while sick like that. Eat to make yourself healthy and soothe your throat.0

Good question. I am sick, too, since Wednesday evening and haven't exercised since. Shuffling from the couch to the bathroom feels like more than enough exercise. Personally, I was eating even less than my normal cal deficit, just from inappetence. I am curious to know the thoughts of others.0

You'll definitely want to make sure that you are getting all the nutrients that your body needs. Remember that when you are sick, your body's natural defenses are waging a war against bacteria/viruses and like any war, such activity requires resources, so if you need to eat more to be able to support that, do so. Remember also that digestion also requires the use of quite a bit of energy (that you need to retain) so try to eat foods that are easily digested. Remember to drink lots of water.0
