No/Low Impact Cardio?
Help!!! I was losing weight...but have stalled for a long while. Cleaning my diet back up, but need help with the workout part. I *was* trying to run (C25K), and was doing zumba...but now I have an old injury flaring up and am unable to do either. I started New Rules for Women...but I'm not making any real progress there…

Getting enough calories after oral surgery
I'm having my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow morning, and have been advised by the oral surgeon to not eat solid foods for a week. I've intentionally gone over my calorie goal yesterday and will again today (I'm in Japan--still have 8 hours until I have to start fasting)...but I need help on figuring out how to get enough…

Success with New Rules (Women)???
I'm planning on starting "New Rules of Lifting for Women" this week with a friend... Just have a few questions... Does it get easier to understand with time? Has anyone had success without following the diet portion?

Starting today!
A friend and I are starting this today. I've been a cardio queen for a year, and while I lost 50 pounds...I still have a long way to go. I'm going to focus on the next 6 months being about inches and strength vs weight...and that is SO freeing! :) Any advice for a total newb?

Do you eat more if
If you've had a day that you are WAY more active than usual, do you eat more? I'm trying to eat at my BMR (roughly 1700 according to F2F)...but today I am absolutely famished! According to my BodyMedia I've burned just over 1,000 calories in exercise today. I was quite a bit more active than usual today... I'm just…

What am I doing wrong?
I've been at this for almost a year now, and I am growing increasingly frustrated. When I started I had the normal BIG drop the first month, and lost steadily for a few months after that. In Nov I had my wisdom teeth pulled and then admittedly fell of the wagon through the holidays. I've been working hard since January…

Protein help
Okay...my diary is open. I KNOW I'm way over on carbs and sodium. I KNOW I've been eating too much processed junk. Life has been insane lately...and it's finally calming down. I've been stuck losing and regaining the same 2 pounds since November no matter what I do--and I still have 50+ to lose to be at the top end of…

TDEE help?
Okay...I've been all over the place "diet" wise...but I'm so over that. Just under a month ago I switched from doing nothing but cardio to doing resistance training instead. I decided that I would also do the TDEE -20% method instead of whatever nonsense I was doing before. It's not been perfect...some days have been way…

Is this possible?
I'm kind of burned out on cardio. I lost 42 pounds last year doing pretty much nothing but cardio, and have been stalled on losing since November. I'm sure it's partially due to not much tracking and indulging in too many treats throughout December... I have no way of using the gym right now, and no idea how to use the 5#…

ONEDERLAND!!!!!!
6 months ago I was staring at 243 on the scale (thought it was 235. Dr informed me I was a bit off. Oi.)....as of today I'm looking at 198.8!!!! I still have 55ish pounds to go, but now I KNOW I can get there! :-)

NSV: pants!!
<<-- in my profile pic, I'm wearing a size 16 jeans. I haven't worn a size 16 in about 3 years! Woo Hoo!!!
-
3 months, 25 pounds down. :-) **pics**
I know I'm still fat...so sorry for burning your eyes with these photos. I was having trouble because I just couldn't figure out where I was losing weight. My clothes were fitting better, and that was nice...the scale was moving too...but I just didn't see it in the mirror. I'm really glad my hubby convinced me to…

Mini goal reached!
No pictures right now, sorry!! But I'm finally under 210! Barely, but who cares! I've lost 25 pounds and I am SO stinking close to ONEderland!! Right now I weigh less than I did 5 years ago when my daughter was a baby. I'm so stinking excited!

NSV-hubby!!!
I'm so proud of my hubby! He's in the military, so has to try and stay in shape. He's been on profile a lot the last few years after his back spazzed out on him and he broke his ankle. The weight has crept up since he wasn't allowed to work out much. He's been frustrated come PT test time because even though he can max out…

Month 2. TurboFire? LesMills? C25K? Gym?
So a month ago I realized I realized I was fat, and decided to get off my rear and move. Started walking a lot more, started (SLOWLY) running the stairs in my building, and even made it to the gym a few times. I'm clueless in the gym so I mainly just walked on the treadmill, messed around with some light free weights, and…

I'm an idiot
So...I realized a mistake--at least I'm about 99% sure I did. You're not supposed to wear your Fitbit AND use your HRM during exercise...are you? Cause then it double counts your calories? Right? Oops.
-
BodyMedia vs Polar FT4 vs Polar FT7???
I have a Fitbit One that I use mainly to track sleep and steps. I recently purchased a generic HRM, but it doesn't have a chest strap and I don't have the ability to purchase one with a chest strap where I live. I'm interested in purchasing a better HRM/activity tracker in the next few weeks. It'll be a hassle to get it…

Mini NSV!!! :)
I know this is probably a weird thing to be happy about...but anyway... I've been overweight for a long while, and have worn really tight undershirts under everything...but they're looser now, and when it brushed against my skin today I thought it was a bug! It was just my loosely fitting shirt! :) Also, though they're…

Did I really burn that much?
With getting serious about losing weight, I decided to take the plunge and buy a HRM. It's not top of the line or anything, but it's what I have available. I really want a Polar, but there's issues getting it shipped to Japan so for now I can't. There's a decent difference between what my HRM says I burned, and what the…

Another NSV!
Two today!! Back in high school before my now-husband left to join the military we used to work out and run every day. He's been trying for years (since the littlest one was born) to get me to come to the gym with him, but I was too insecure to try. Today was the first time in a decade that I felt comfortable enough to…

Tracking burn...
I'm starting to get pretty serious about this losing weight thing, but I want a way to better understand how many calories my body is burning through exercise and just living. I have a Fitbit, but admittedly don't understand how it gauges calories burned...I mainly use it as a pedometer and sleep tracker. I was looking…

Advice? I'm clueless...
To lose weight...quite a bit of weight...70+ pounds... What do I need to do more of at first? Cardio, or weights? Or should I combine them? Or would that be detrimental? Is there such a thing as too much cardio?

TurboFire/Les Mills Pump hybrid?
I've lost 17 pounds last month just by being more active and paying more attention to what I ate. I'd really like to do a TurboFire/Pump hybrid. Anyone else done one and have thoughts, opinions, or pictures??

Trying to figure this out...
I started at 235 and weighed in yesterday at 218. In the last month I dropped 17 pounds and 9.25". Ultimate goal weight is 145, but for now I'm aiming for ONEderland. I've been making sure to stay under 1400 calories/day and haven't once gone over. In fact I struggle to eat enough most days! The more I read about this…

Newbie! :) advice??
Hey y'all, I'm LJ and I'm new around here (regardless of what my profile says.). I registered for MFP awhile ago, but I am just now coming to use it. I'm married to a wonderful man who is in the Air Force, and we have two kids. We currently live in northern Japan, and I am a rarely-at-home-homeschooling mom. :) I was never…
