Protein Question...
I went to the gym at lunch today and happened to share my diary with a trainer while waiting for the rain to subside (I rode my bike there). Anyway, he said my protein was too low...strength training will eat away my muscle with so little protein in my diet. Anyone have any thoughts on what he said?

NSV Touched my toes!!
I touched my toes!!! SERIOUSLY!! Even in the best shape of my life, a lifeguard and horseback rider in high school, I was never flexible enough to touch my toes...this is MoNuMeNtAl! Tears welled up in my eyes at the gym. I know, it sounds silly, but I am proud of me.

First 5k and first weight goal! pics
Its the morning after my first 5k and, let me say, I feel pretty good! I was expecting to be soo sore. Newp, not bad. My muscles are tense and my shins are a little tender, but I have felt much worse after a training day in the past than I do right now. Does anyone see a problem with this as long as I am not pushing myself to the point of dizziness or exhaustion? Anyone else done this? I really do…

We have a "food party" for every birthday, holiday...Tuesday, etc. Any reason to eat, and eat badly. I have already suggested we have a…

Lower calorie cooking and the affect on my kids
So just wondering what the community thinks about trying a lower calorie diet and how it may affect the rest of your family? I know my kids need all the calories they are supposed to have a day because they never stop moving. I am lucky if I can get them to come inside in the evenings. I hope that my cooking lower calories…

NSV - Resisted a fast food breakfast
Ok, some background. I only live less than a mile from work. I know I need to ride my bike or walk, its on my to do list as soon as the 100 degree temperatures subside... Anyway, this morning instead of my mother coming to my house to watch the kids, I took them to her house and *forgot* to make myself breakfast. On the…
