Hi! Good to see you Jackie. You are always very busy. We have a threat of rain overnight and tomorrow so I have been shoveling dirt out of those woven pots on my deck. The critters really shredded them to nothing. The large round pot was attacked by squirrels all winter so the sidewalls near the bottom of that pot are ready to give up. So, two periods of sweating over 2 days and I have the woven pot remains cleaned up. Today the squirrels started throwing dirt out of my raised bed (on legs) which is also on the deck. I am not sure what I will do. They got into that one over the winter as well and dug holes, left nut shells and other misc. stuff. That’s for another day.

I have heard you can often spot his StarLink creations in the sky but I never get up in the night to try to see them. And of course, lots of light in a metro area cuts down on what you are able to see even if you are up. Oh, and I understand having to pay subscription fees which is why I haven’t seen much tennis until recently.

I made a trip to the grocery store this morning and pretty much got everything I had on my list (my mental list🙃) After I got home, I spent quite a bit of time getting signed in to a new mobile app for one of my banks. The only thing I haven’t done is get back the biometric sign in.

Time to start addressing envelopes and putting the final touches to these never ending cards. 😉 I am not sure I will add anything beyond a signature in the card. Notes…..? Hummmmm🧐

    Be safe everyone.

Happy Tuesday. :p I thought I posted this morning but was busy so forgot. Spent the day at the pool and loved it. Came home and rode my bike for an hour. Almost back to goal so have to keep working. Marisa’s birthday dinner was great.

First they got me on a mechanical bull and now a motorcycle. (I only sat on it for a picture) It is Marisa’s new toy. She is not too spoiled. She also signed a lease for her own apartment so I guess she is growing up.

Lisa and kids left for a month in Florida visiting her parents. Rob is home finishing up the walls, cabinets, and floors. They are coming Monday to start the floors which will probably take 5 days. The pups are being boarded at a farm where they can run and play. Rob will stay at his in-laws house because it is closer to his meetings.
I will be spending most of my time at the pool.

Sorry for such a long post. Have a good evening.

Happy Wednesday! :) It's going to be a hot day here with temps in the 90's. I am going for a no chip manicure at noon and then probably to the pool. Nothing else exciting going on so have a wonderful day.

Hot day here as well. Some storms may pass through here later today and tomorrow.

Lots of cardio today, addressing envelopes, and texting with friends. Nothing exciting here. Nothing mildly interesting when I think about it. 😎

    Be happy my friends.

Hello sneakers. Winter has returned with a vengeance as a noisy gale howls down the chimney and rain pours. It’s cold too so after early shopping and filling my car with fuel, I walked George and Betty quickly round the block. They were then snoozing while I’ve carried out a few chores and are still doing so. I had seen the forecast yesterday so spent most of the day tidying and pruning outside and last thing, cutting the grass so I can now look out my window and think nothing more needs to be done. If only!

Lin, it must be so disheartening to have those squirrels destroy so much. When George’s groomer visited yesterday I gave her some garlic I had grown and told her how I had to dig them up because something had begun nibbling them. She told me she has a poly tunnel for growing vegetables in but has a constant battle with rabbits that burrow underneath then pop up inside to eat anything green. She is thinking of giving up! At least I can control slugs!
A bonus from living in a rural area is viewing the night sky when it’s clear. I often stand looking around in awe while the pooches enjoy a late night garden visit. As clever as the Starlink is, I find it worrying that one individual can put so much metal in orbit!

Fabulous photos Sandy and don’t you look amazing! I love your pink outfit and am particularly impressed that you could lift one leg over that motorbike! 🥴 🤭

After a long conversation on WhatsApp earlier in the week with my friend I was left thinking she was to have her first cataract removed yesterday so phoned today to see how she got on. Turns out I was confused because it was an examination only and next Monday will be the operation. I’ve also phoned Sheila to confirm I’m taking her to the Plymouth hospital tomorrow for an update with the Rheumatologist. She told me she missed her lung x-ray appointment yesterday at our local hospital and they suggested she get it done tomorrow in Plymouth but I’m not happy with that because it means sitting in A&E for hours again! If she insists I will drop her at the door and look around some shops!

Cup of tea time! Love that Japanese style teapot, but then I love all of them!

    Stay safe and well.

Happy Thursday! :) Back from taking Cheryl and Marisa to the airport for their trip to Boston. Marisa is a huge Boston Red Sox fan so they are going for the weekend to see them play the Yankees. I have to leave shortly for my meeting but wanted to catch up on computer. It is hot and muggy with temps hitting 90F. I will not be at the pool today only because I don't have time.
I am taking my son to dinner for Father's Day on Sunday as his family is in Florida. My daughter gave me a gift card last Christmas that I haven't used yet, so thought it would be fun for a mother son date.

Jackie, you are a lot like me in helping people and getting exhausted from doing so. I hope you don't get stuck for hours at the A&E, although not sure what that is. Is it a hospital or an urgent care type of place?

Lin, I am sure you are getting our hot weather as well so stay cool. I get tired just reading about all your cardio.

    Have a good day everyone.

Hello. Yes, it is hot and muggy here with a higher probability of storms today/tonight. I picked up some books at the library this morning and it was already hot. Wow. Then I did a couple of loads of laundry and just be repetitive, lots of cardio classes today. Inbetween things right now and I am cooling off a bit.

If I disappear, there is some kind of water problem in a townhouse that is behind my house. They have been fussing and messing about for the last week or so but today they brought in a trencher and my house is actually vibrating from the use of the thing. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 they are close to my Internet cable so if I disappear, they cut it.

Sandy, I hope your car is okay in this crazy hot weather. I hate going out to get in the car after it’s been parked in the sun. Hope you found a shady spot.

Jackie, I heard your weather in May was abnormally hot and then a complete turnaround to very cold in June. What the heck! I hope you don’t get trapped for lots of hours in Plymouth tomorrow. Your dogs need you and it is unpleasant to be trapped in these waiting situations.

So my Independence Day cards are ready to go. A few go out of state so I will mail them earlier, the rest re pretty much local. Here’s my stack. I am just showing the back of a card as I want to keep names and addresses covered.

    9o479ar7xdhq.jpeg

I think I will give up making Halloween, Autumn, and Thanksgiving cards. I will continue with birthday cards though. I am going to start a mega list for Christmas cards as I want to see if I can use up many of my handmade cards from prior years. Happened when I did multiple designs. Friends will just have to suffer with a duplicate card from a prior year—-if they remember. 🙃

Well, time to get something to drink before the next class.

    Take care everyone.

And a happy Friday from here as well. Hot and sunny today, but mild compared to the next few days. I am washing towels today. It takes a long time for oversized bath towels to dry. Yep, more cardio classes and I hope to break open one of the library books I brought home.

Jackie, I hope your trip to Plymouth doesn’t take too long. And that you had a safe drive.

Sandy, wow, an afternoon at the pool. Have any shade? Take a huge water container.

    I hope everyone is safe.

    See you tomorrow.

An early start for me then, after breakfast I walked George and Betty round the block. George scared me falling down the stairs from top to bottom as I eat my cereal and although I saw what was about to happen, I couldn’t get to him quick enough to stop him hitting the floor and rolling. Lots of cuddles and fuss settled him but when we walked I made sure it was a slow pace. I collected Sheila around 1030 to get us to the hospital for her 1130 appointment and once again, because we didn’t know why she was there apart from a follow up, I sat in the waiting room when she was called. The Rheumatology department was a separate building to the main hospital and thankfully relatively quiet compared to the main A&E so what turned out to be an hour appointment was bearable. Sandy, our first very long night time wait was in the Accident and Emergency department. Today’s ultrasound scan showed no arthritis or nasty growth, so the specialist diagnosed a form of migraine and has sent an email to the GP suggesting the best painkillers for her condition. Next obstacle will be for her to get a GP appointment!

Heavy rain arrived this afternoon so it was a good excuse to do nothing and at one point I did shut my eyes for a short nap. I will make sure I get to bed early! Heavy rain showers tomorrow so I don’t think we will be walking on the moors but I can get my tomato plants repotted in my greenhouse.

    Take care.

Happy Saturday! :) Another beautiful day for the pool. I will be going after our family zoom call and then later go to Mass. Tomorrow more of the same but then taking my son out to dinner for Father's Day. Today is their anniversary so with Lisa and kids gone I am sure he is missing them although busy with getting the house done and removing all the main room furniture to a pod in his driveway. He is still finishing up the cabinets so hopefully things will be done this week and he can get the house back in order. He is taking the pups to a farm type boarding place tomorrow until next Friday. I do hope they like it and have fun with the other dogs. The floors take about 5 days with no walking on them thus he and the dogs won't be home while they are being done other then supervising. I can't wait until it's all done as I imagine he feels the same.

Jackie, so your A&E is like out ER (Emergency Room), I understand now thank you. Glad there were no arthritis or nasty growths and hopefully the new meds will help her have a better quality of life and the GP can help in other areas. Sorry about all the rain, you would be jealous of our weather right now.

Lin, I do stay hydrated and use sun screen but the pool is my happy place. Always was, always will be, no matter how old I am. <3 Now I know what you are talking about with the home page. Where did it go? I check every so often and no more home page. How sad.

I have been sending Anne our daily posts but not sure if she is reading them or not. I am hoping she can read them but is just too busy to respond.

Have a good day and stay healthy.

Good evening. I have had my nose in a library book mot of today except when I was doing cardio or laundry. We didn’t have much rain today and it wasn’t pier hot. We had. Nice breeze.

Sandy, enjoy dinner out with your son tomorrow.

Jackie, I had a broadcast of today’s pomp and pageantry. I do love horses so that was lovely to watch. And seeing Katherine and the children was nice. Gosh, they are growing up! Do you hear anything from Anne?

    Be safe everyone.

Good morning and happy Sunday. I could have sworn I posted yesterday but apparently not. I did type a long email to Anne but out of the blue it flew off the screen. Usually I can locate them in Drafts but no sign so I sent her a Jacqui Lawson card which she did respond to so is hopefully alright. Lin, Anne and I were exchanging emails until last week when my time became a bit chaotic but I will get back to writing today and hope it doesn’t whizz off into the ether!

I watched our Trooping the Colour yesterday morning in typical English weather! The King looked peaky at times so hopefully can rest today. Fun to see all those raised umbrellas marching toward Buckingham Palace but it was amazing how the skies cleared in time for the flyover. I’m now concentrating on getting as many vegetables established which isn’t easy with all the rain bringing out the slugs and snails!

Sandy, after years of watching the tv series ER I should have realised I needed to be clearer about where Sheila and I ended up that night! Other appointments in specialised departments have been far more civilised, even if long!

I’ve walked George and Betty on the moors where we bumped into David with Hattie. His painful hip and back make him very slow now but, as we weren’t in a rush, it gave the dogs plenty of time to sniff about. Back at the car park he was expecting Hattie to jump into the back of his Shogun 4X4 but I saw her fall on to her back once so ran over to lift her in and she gave me a big kiss! She is rather overweight from too much TLC so hopefully he will park where a grassy bank will lessen the height.

Linda and I have messaged this morning to arrange a coffee morning in the week and exchange more plants! Apparently her son’s Runner bean plants have been eaten by slugs! Mine are definitely being threatened too so I will have to scatter pellets otherwise nothing will be left to eat!

Coffee finished so I will wish everyone a sunny Sunday. (Yes Sandy, I am jealous!)

    Jackie 🥰

Good morning. We had storm watches for this area overnight. Luckily, nothing ever popped up here. Just a title bit of rain. It is a bit odd to go to bed in a bedroom on the second level of a house with watches in effect until 2 or 3 in the morning. But this has been an odd weather year.

A sunny day with a forecast high of 97 degrees F. I turned my air conditioner up a bit. Yes, not down up. I just got my power bill yesterday and got quite a jump in electric.

I will attend church online today and get some cardio later on.

    Be safe everyone.

Happy Sunday! :) It's going to be hot so will be spending a lot of time in the pool. I prefer the 80's but it's supposed to be in the 90's all week. Not sure how long I will stay in the hot sun and humidity.
Taking my son to dinner tonight so that will be fun. Picking Cheryl and Marisa up from the airport tomorrow night. Heart Scan on Friday, celebrating Cheryl birthday Saturday and leaving for Edswardville on Sunday on the train for a week to visit my son and his wife. Busy summer but I love it.

Lin, we were supposed to get rain this morning but it is sunny and beautiful. I either turn my A/C up or off when I am not home. I do not like it too cold so hopefully my bill won't be outrageous.

Jackie, do you know how many steps you walk when on the moors? It seems like you get a lot of exercise which is probably why you are in such good shape. Enjoy your garden.

Slept in for some reason this morning and now I am behind. Have a good day.

They are starting on his floors today so he is staying at Lisa's parents house which is a little closer to me.
It's going to be hot and humid so a lot of time in the pool again.

Have a good day and enjoy the sunshine.

Happy Monday. The weather has been unsettled until this evening and definitely feels warmer now so I will water a few pots. I managed to plant a small amount of dwarf French bean plants and cover with netting to keep pigeons and white cabbage butterflies off the leaves. I will need to buy more bags of compost for the tomato plants then I sit back and watch everything grow! Haha, if only!
My nephew has messaged that he and his partner will stay over with me August 22, on his way home from visiting his mother in Brittany, which will be lovely except it will be days before our August Bank holiday and Charmaine is hoping to join us, possibly with 2 daughters, one being allergic to pet hairs and the other scared of dogs! I feel I’m spending hours looking for a local B&B to book for them because Cornwall is full of visitors that time of year. If she visits on her own I can make up a bed for one night in the snug but have to wait for numbers confirmation.
Josh the electrician finally contacted me about sourcing and fitting new electric heaters in the spare bedroom and snug. The cost of heaters has gone up and will probably go up even more by Winter so I must bite the bullet!
I emailed Anne but forgot to ask if she is receiving Sandy’s copies of Sneakers posts. She tells me she is managing lots of steps, as much to prove the cardiologist wrong so that’s very positive. I will ask tomorrow.

A lovely photo Sandy and you always look tiny next to your son!

Gorgeous teapots Lin! Good to hear the storms missed you. Our forecast is good with temperatures rising…. Just as heaters are going to be purchased!!

8pm so a good time to water plants. Tomorrow I am going to visit Maddy, George’s groomer’s 92 year old mother who is far more switched on than me! She’s on her own for the day because Debs and her husband are going out so I said I would drop in with George and Betty.

    Take care
    Jackie 🥰

Good afternoon. It is in the 90’s now. I am surprised it has heated up that much as we had some cloudy hours this morning. I messed about getting my Amazon devices working. They both went offline and I had to reset them. Kind of odd, they have always automatically reconnected to my WiFi network if they lose their connections for any reason. Bizarre. Just testing my patience I guess. 😎 I did have a reminder set for later this week on the device in my kitchen, it got wiped out. Anyway, moving on, I did crush boxes as it is trash day tomorrow. And I got my cardio minutes in for the day.

I need to do a couple of errands tomorrow if I can get going before it gets hot again. I was going to do the on Wednesday but I hear that is an official holiday now so lots of things will be closed. And I got a reminder, dental appointment first thing Wednesday morning. 🙃 I need to make sure I have my new insurance card with me.

Jackie, it sounds as if you are fighting too many pests and beasties this year in order to have fresh veggies. Best wishes. The lady teaching the cardio dance class this morning was quite sad as her previously doing well garden was attacked by deer. She was hoping that they hadn’t comeback for seconds while she was at work. So your electrician finally got back to you. Hot, cold, hot, cold. Hard to keep up! Wow, you may have a gang descending on you in August ! Finding a place to book sounds nearly impossible. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Sandy, did your son show up to join you at the pool? I hope so, thy would be nice. That looks like a nice restaurant by the way.

    Wishing everyone well.

Happy Tuesday! :) Got to pool late because of busy morning. Sun felt good today. I just made an appointment for Thursday for another back injection. My back has been killing me and my next appointment wasn't until September. I was so happy she had an opening this week before visiting my son and the reunion. Not sure I will be on bike today, time is just moving too fast and it is almost dinner time.

Lin, are most things closed for the holiday? Good luck at dentist tomorrow, not one of my favorites.

Jackie, I might have missed a couple of days for Anne, but will check to see what I sent her last. I do hope she is getting stronger every day.

I have to take a quick shower to get the chlorine out of my hair.
    Have a good day.

Hi, Sandy, banks and the post office will be closed tomorrow. UPS, FedEx, retail stores, etc. will be operating as usual.

I sent Anne a card today and she replied that she was off for an appointment for a hearing aid test.

I did my errands this morning. Wow, it was windy. Storm potential late tonight, again.

The online check in system for the dentist wasn’t working well today. I did my best and then called the office to discuss the problems and to see if they could update my email address which was wrong.

Hope everyone has a good night’s sleep! Time to go to my regular Tuesday night live.

    See ya soon.
