Paula: You look great in your pics. You can really see a big difference. You have come so far I can't wait to see your goal pics.
Thecarbmonster: I forgot to tell you that you also looked wonderful in your pics. and that there was a big difference in yours as well. I also can't wait to see your goal pics.
flumi: Enjoy your makeover, can't wait to see the pics. and read about it.0 -

Hope you feel better soon - make sure you are getting enough nutrition. Remember fasting is your calorie deficit days not your feast days: eat your TDEE amount or close to it!!

I have a works xmas party next weekend, and would like a little wiggle room in my dress. I tried it on a couple of weeks ago, and it was snug, so I think that was the push I needed to get my focus back. Not planning on trying it on again until Wed evening so I'll only have a couple of days to find something else if it's still snug (hopefully not)
Good luck with the dress!! I'm sure it will fit just fine with this extra push you are doing!!
I have my work xmas party in a few weeks and I know what I wore last year isn't going to fit as well as it should so I'll need to go find something else and it will be hard as I need something to camouflage my tummy

I feel a bit pissed off as it says I haven't lost any weight. I'm hoping my scales are faulty, I just don't understand after eating 500cal for two days and a normal day with exercise how I haven't lost weight.
Am I worrying too much too soon? Afterall, it's only Thursday and this is my first week. I was expecting at least a 2lb difference. Feeling a bit deflated now (and not in the way I want!).
Give it time as it is likely water weight. Your body is likely freaking out and holding onto water. I've heard a number of times not to weight yourself for the first few weeks as it will jump all over the place. Just follow this new way of life and see how it goes!!

Good morning everyone - well yesterday's fast was a bust. I just got too hungry by the afternoon and I couldn't take it anymore. I think I still came in under TDEE, but it's a good lesson to make sure you prepare yourself the day before a fast to make sure you have proper nutrition including enough protein! That's where I failed with my dinner on Tuesday night.
Today I'm wearing my normal jeans that I've always worn but are far too tight now around the waist. I wore them on purpose because I wanted to be uncomfortable all day as a reminder. Lately I've been wearing extra stretchy jeans and leggings to work but that just fools you as you think everything is ok. Obviously it's not and I remember 1 year ago when these jeans I'm wearing now were a tiny bit loose on me. So hopefully this lesson will remind me about the journey I'm on and why I'm doing it!!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!0 -
@snaps. Certainly lots of change here! Look forward to seeing your final pic when you are grinning confidently like in the studenty pic!0

Thanks for the reminders and well wishes! I am definitely not afraid of eating so I made sure to eat my TDEE Today is a "what goes, goes" day. I am crazy busy with work so I have a feeling I will not be thinking about food much I think I'm just feeling a bit blah because of the weather and feeling overwhelmed at work (but I plan to work over the weekend so I can get caught up and feel more in control).
I think tonight is a wonton soup night! I bought more wonton wrappers at the grocery store this weekend to try making them myself again, but I'm feeling like I might just get take-out haha.
@snapssss!!! let's all give a round of snaps to snaps cause that's awesome!!!0 -

Thanks carlsoda, I will 'keep calm and carry on'! Water retention is a *kitten* ;-)0 -
Wow, can't write the word '*kitten*' on here... blanks it out haha!
@snaps you can really see the difference in your photos, what a great record to have and to keep spurring you on! I love seeing the photos, it really makes me want to keep going so thank you! x0 -

It won't be long before those jeans will be loose on you once again!
Maybe I should follow suit and wear my old uniform I wore back in 2004. I was working abroad as a holiday rep and the swimsuit was pretty tight - I look back and think how awesome I looked... maybe I can squeeze myself back into it someday ha! In the meantime, it wouldn't be a pretty sight! x

Thanks everyone for your kind words. The first picture was of me right after I got off the rockn' rollercoaster at Disney, so that probably explains the expression .0

@snaps27
I think you look great now...it's gotta feel weird seeing yourself at different times of your life laid out all on one page.
You ladies are sumthin'...more power to you all!
Thanks @orlcam; I keep on trying to remind myself that that teenager in the first picture kept thinking that if she could just get down to 172 she would be happy. And now I'm there, but don't get me wrong I am happy, but curious where 5:2 could take me.0 -
@snaps: Your courage will serve you very well on this journey. Thank you for sharing your life with us.0

Finished my two fast days and my exercise for the week. All that is left is my weigh-in. Have a great day ladies and gentlemen! No matter what the scale says today or what was eaten, know you are worthy of love.0

After today's makeover: I feel good, do do do do do do do....I feel nice.....like sugar and spice
I feel like a little child that just had christmas, birthday and easter all on the same day! Enjoyed my day, love the outcome and celebrated with friends in the evening....what more can anyone wish for!
Paper won't come out until December. So that link will have to wait.
For comparisons sake....a few before pics...
Now off to bed. It's 11h45 and my carriage is about to turn into a pumkin! It is a work day tomorrow!0 -
Flumi: You look so beautiful, I just love your hair and color. You look like a different person and also much younger. Don't get me wrong I also like your curly hair too. Glad you had a great time at your makeover, can't wait for the newspaper article to come out.

Oooh baby...you are kidding me! I keep going back to the picture, that IS crazy...and the black boots...and what a great expression...you just look like you're ready to do something naughty! I think I would call that the look of...confidence. Wow...truly amazed right now.
Time to send the kids to grandma's...

snaps - great progress - but yes you do look so happy in the first one - makes me want to go skipping with you0
-
flumi - you look fantastic - how long did it take to lose the weight?0
-
Thanks all! I'm still in awe of what came out of that awesome day! I never thought, I was ugly, but I walked by a few mirrors yesterday and I'm like....Who ist that hot chic! Totally in love with myself right now ;-)
angela - about 1 year for 29kg, which is pretty fast for 5:2. Still have 2-3 kg to go, but have been maintaining around 57-58kg since June. Weightloss slowed from month to month as the weight I had to lose became less. It was a combination of 5:2 and a mix of exercise for strength and fitness (and to earn a few cals )
oricam....I don't have any kids to send to grandma's
loveswalking...curls are still there. After the next wash. But i bought an straighting iron at the hairdressers, so I can now do both!! SO COOL!0 -
@flumi_f You really do look beautiful! What a wonderful way to celebrate all of your hard work.0
-
