Today's treat: Eggnog Pie with a side of Market Pantry Hot Cocoa Ice cream.

The Hot cocoa ice cream was really good... I was expecting the marshmallows to be stiff/hard... they weren't. They were nice and soft. WIN!

I keep getting behind and/or confused on what day this is. I think today (Friday Dec 19th) is the 24th day of the challenge - does that sound right? Since we started on the Weds before Thanksgiving?

    Day 1: apple pie
Day 2: all the Thanksgiving stuff
Day 3: pumpkin pecan cheesecake bars and movie theater popcorn/raisinettes
Day 4: Thanksgiving Part 2 and Pumpkin Challenge
Day 5: Pumpkin bread, Gingersnap Cookie
Day 6: Steve's Coffee and Cinnamon Ice Cream, frosted holiday cookies (the little ones with the white icing and the nonpareils - love those!)
Day 7: Graeter's Salted Caramel Ice Cream
Day 8: Peppermint Mocha creamer in my coffee and a chocolate cupcake with white icing
Day 9: Peppermint Mocha creamer, white frosted holiday cookies
Day 10: all the fried foods at a bar
Day 11: holiday party appetizer smorgasboard
Day 12: Breakfast with Santa (actually really good food), Ravioli Dinner, Chocolate Chip Cookies (pre-made dough)
Day 13: More chocolate chip cookies
Day 14: Peppermint mocha, half of a very average Snickerdoodle from Cheryl's cookies that were sent in a gift basket, breakfast for dinner and white frosted holiday cookies while watching Rudolph!
Day 15: Snickerdoodles and some of those pretzel/rolo/m&m candies
Day 16: Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup, a snickerdoodle...
Day 17: Peach cobbler w/ ice cream, homemade pizzas
Day 18: Chocolate Peppermint Ice Cream, Holiday Dinner including maple bacon donut holes
Day 19: Cappucino and yummy brunch, roast beef dinner, TJ Jo Joes
    Day 20: Snickerdoodles
Day 21: Work dinner - braised lamb shank w/ mashed potatoes, creamy tomato soup, couple bites of gooey butter cake dessert, pinot noir...
Day 22: Work lunch - catered Italian, no desserts (WTF!?). Book Club holiday dinner - shrimp and grits, peanut butter kit kat dessert, half baked brownie sundae
Day 23: White chocolate popcorn, Ghiradelli peppermint bark square
Day 24: TBD - another work luncheon, and a holiday open house for kindergarten parents. It's at someone's house though so at least we will have booze with our cookies!

I'm jealous! I'm not big on alcohol, but I'd like to spike my eggnog, or indulge in some champagne cranberry concoction or what have you.

I guess I'll have to live vicariously through you all!

I must have missed a couple of days then Karen. You're right that we should be on Day 24 but I'm not sure where I missed any so I'm just going to continue on.

The cake in the corner... was vanilla with a raspberry filling in the middle and whipped cream topping. OMG it was so good. There were also cake balls, which is like a chocolate covered cake batter... /drool. Not pictured was the Sweet italian sausage with peppers & onions, meatballs and sausage queso.

I didn't really have anything "holiday" yesterday, just a twix bar on the road.

Today I had tiramisu and some turtle biscotti.

Tomorrow starts the holiday baking-- I'll be doing biscoff truffles and peanut butter balls tomorrow.

I love cake balls. I love playing around with the flavor combinations - my favorite for the holidays are red velvet cake with cream cheese icing dipped in white almond bark with red sugar on top... When cake pops got so popular a couple of years ago I ended up getting two different type of cake pop makers (a pan and an electric thingy) but honestly the way I used to make the cake balls (bake a box of cake mix in a 9x13, crumble it into a bowl, add a can of packaged frosting, roll into balls, freeze till firm, dip in almond bark) tasted better and was less putzy than the pops.

There was another late arrival which was really yummy - the lady took a log of goat cheese, rolled it in sunflower seeds, drizzled honey over it and served it with raspberries. I'm going to have to remember that one...
Day 25: date night with husband - mussels and clams with pomme frites. Caramel popcorn at the movie with a few glasses of wine throughout the evening.
Day 26: Breakfast with Santa (again) - eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy. Kids ate all the donut holes... Made a double batch of Pioneer Woman beef stew for dinner and a double batch of chocolate gooey butter cookies - took half over to a friend.

I swear I'm not slacking on the holiday challenge. I'm just lazy. I've had cookies everyday. LOL.

Today I will be having Turkey Hill Eggnog ice cream. Also of note, I went out to lunch with hubby today and I got a "Cuban" burger at this local "Mexican Grill". It had Pepperjack type cheese, chipotle mayo, fried jalapenos, pineapple and ham on top of the burger. It was AMAZING. No idea how many calories that sucker was, but I know there was some major protein going on in that guy.

Also, Dannon Light & Fit Greek yogurt has a new limited edition Salted Caramel flavor out. I tried it yesterday. It's decent. Not fantastic, but decent. I think it would be great with maybe some chocolate chips or something added to it to "beef" it up. But it's at least worth a try. I'm still in love with the Caramel Apple Pie flavor though.
