Okay *kitten* movers, here's the new thread for the February 2015 Move Your *kitten* Challenge!
PLEASE READ the directions below.
Welcome to the newbies and welcome back to the oldies!
"Rules of the Challenge"
1. Set your goal and post it to the thread....distance ONLY (Miles or KMs) - NO minutes, NO # of workouts, , NO # of calories, NO # of steps - DISTANCE ONLY.
2. Make your ticker if you want to use one (see directions below or in the FAQ thread) or add your goal to the thread.
3. Get moving your @ss starting Sunday, February 1st.
4. Post as often as you can to the thread so we can keep the sheet (see link below) up to date. You are welcome to report what you are moving each time BUT please make sure you post the TOTAL miles (kms) moved each time you update.
Please don't post any JANUARY miles here. We will update the January spreadsheet once everyone has reported their January miles to the January thread - Please add only your FEBRUARY goals/miles to this thread.
The purpose is to set a distance goal (KM or Miles) and track your distance for the month - please only do one or the other...if you are doing KM just report in KM - we have a formula in the spreadsheet that will convert it to miles for us.
You are challenging yourself, not competing against anyone else.....the distance can be on a treadmill, stairmaster, elliptical, bike, roller blades, walking, running, biking, hiking, swimming (if you can measure).....just set a distance goal and do the work. Sorry, but we will not be tracking number of workouts or minutes moved in this challenge - ONLY DISTANCE.
Report to the thread often to keep us updated because we track our info on a spreadsheet (see link below) so you can see how you are doing compared to the group but not to openly compete with them. (Whatever goes on inside your own brain is your own business. )
The idea is to set your goal and reach it before the end of the month.
Welcome to all - new and old.....have a great month challenging yourself!
Link to the Google spreadsheet where you can view (but not edit). The Challenge Admins will update it for you at mostly random times.... ....but typically at least once a day. Don't hold us to that though.

Directions for making a ticker:
Go to tickerfactory.com and create a weight loss/fitness ticker (link is lower left side of page). Then copy the "BB code" and paste it into your posts on this thread each time you do an update. (More detailed info is located in the FAQ thread on the MYAC Group page.)
Welcome and we hope you enjoy your stay and that you find this helpful in realizing your fitness goals!
PLEASE READ the directions below.

Because February is a shorter month, and my normal schedule might get completely disrupted (we might have to pull our kid out of school and homeschool him, which will totally turn our world on its head, but hopefully in a positive way!), I'm reducing my goal for this month to 200. If it looks like life isn't going to get totally crazy, I will up my goal.0

Good luck, Holli! That would certainly be a major life change! :flowerforyou:
I'm in for 75 again, hopefully mostly running.
Also, reminder that if you want to be included on the "GOAL STREAK" count, just say so and we'll add you.

I'm in for 150, mostly running.0

I was gonna push for 40, but I didn't think about the short month. I'm in for 35. I'm also in for the Goal Streak. Thanks!!0

-
Thank you admin people - you do an excellent job!
- I am in again please, maybe 130 miles. Will up it if I get too close too soon
ETA: Wow! that will take me over the 6000 miles with Move your *kitten* challenges!0 -
Please put me down for 900 miles this month
Good luck to everyone ...0 -
I completely failed in January. I just couldn't face the cold weather so did other things beside running. But I'm in for February because it has to get warmer, right???
Put me down for 20 miles in February. I need to get back into it and hopefully can increase in future months.0 -
I'll stick with 80 miles since it's a short month and the weather isn't great.0
-
I am going to stick with my low goal of 50 until because I haven't been released yet by the doctor to do anything more than walking. Its a struggle during the week with work and other stuff at the moment.0
-
February is supposed to be a very wet month for us, so I will goal 150 and if the weather people are wrong, will bump up.0
-
I am going to do 30 miles again. Thanks!0
-
Short busy and the start of busy season at work. I think I am going to try for 100 miles.

I'll go for 100 since it's a short month!
@ Dave: Could you tell me what the "Gold Streak" is?0 -
I'm going to increase just a little. I'm in for 100 miles. As always, thanks to the admins who keep us moving0
-
Didn't come close this month. Lots of tennis. Aiming for 25 miles for February.0
-
I'll keep it at 150 miles since January was pretty good.

Since I'm going to be relocating back to Washington State, next Thursday! My goal will be 75 miles. IF I get to the point where I've under estimated my miles, I'll up my miles for sure!
Febuary miles: 75 miles running / walking0 -
100 more miles for me please! Hurray!
Looking forward to another month with you all! Thanks again admins for the work that goes into this!0 -
Please put me down for 155 miles
. Thank you0 -
I'll go for 100 since it's a short month!
@ Dave: Could you tell me what the "Gold Streak" is?
No problem at all! All it means is...you know how each individual month the point is to reach your goal, right? And the color of hitting goal is gold....all it means is how many months in a row you've hit goal. So if you hit goal this month. You'll get a '1'....then next month when you hit goal, you'll extend your 'streak' to '2' months in a row. That will continue to increase each month you hit goal. But if you miss making goal for just one month, you go back to '0' and have to start all over. It's like the MFP login streak except this counts months. Make sense?

-
I would like to opt-in for GOAL streak
Thanks0 -
I'm going to up my running miles from 25 to 30 this month.
Oh, and add me for the streak. Maybe that will be an extra motivator!0 -
I'm going for broke. Make my goal 300 miles.0
-
I am also using a Fitbit and am in the Fitbit group, although I only log actual exercise miles here.0
-
Snow and ice warning remain in place and a holiday towards the end of the month, so lets start off with a 500 mile target0
