I've had an early morning visit with Dinah, in "her" room, the hall bathroom. Of course I had quite a few visits with her yesterday afternoon and evening too. I'm sure she gets lonely in there. I did leave her some of the toys that the other cats play with and of course she has her kibble and water, and a litter box.
In a while I'll be putting out canned food for everyone. Coincidentally, the canned food that was given to me as a starter for her is the same brand and type (Fancy Feast Classic Paté, assorted flavors) that I have been feeding them. Dinah won't have to transition at all on the canned food and I'm pretty sure she won't have any issues with eating the same kitten food that Kiara eats, at least for a time.
She's very small, but they are still estimating a year old. She has, after all, had and weaned kittens who are estimated to be at least 2 or 3 months old. As she was very emaciated when rescued, I suspect she simply didn't have the food resources to reach her full growth potential. She may still have a little growth time left, but I am pretty sure she'll always be a small cat, which is fine with us.
She's VERY affectionate and I know she would love for me to be in there with her all the time, but I have to be fair to the other cats, so I am going in there every two or three hours and spending some quality time with her.
Later today, I may isolate the other cats in the master suite and let Dinah roam the rest of the house for a few minutes, to let her smell them some more and leave her scent out here for them. Dinah was the one starting any hissing yesterday when they met through the kitty carrier door, and then again later when I was holding her and let her see them.
I think once she gets over being geographically moved from the foster, where she had, I'm sure, started to feel like it was home, to here, where she has to start all over again with new people and new cats, rather than the ones at the foster home, she'll fit in just fine. We've done this before.

The Turkey Carcass is now in the garbage and the Meat is wrapped in foil to be broken down further later on and Vacuum sealed into portions. The 8+ pound Whole Pork loin that was on sale yesterday and today is scheduled to be broken into Chops, a Roast and some earmarked to be used as Breakfast Sausage Patties. My Brother is trying to decide if it is worth going for a second one on his Key Tag as it is one per tag and I used my key tag yesterday, It does require a $10 minimum purchase to get the 99 cent a pound price but well worth it in my not so humble opinion

My day today was quiet! I slept til mid morning, napped late afternoon. The afternoon nap was a bonus, compliments of my neighbors who I discovered had blown the leaves out of my yard, so....a nap happened.

I had to think about it to understand why a Apple Pie would be labeled Vegan. Then I guessed it was possibly the crust ?
Marshmallows are not one of my temptations. I like the small ones on Hot Chocolate OTOH. Sadly my brother brought some temptations into the house yesterday after visiting some friends where they work retail in a small location. Or to put it another way they filled a large ZipLock Bag with an assortment of left over from Halloween Candy bars
It sounds like You had a great visit with Ted and the rest of the gang, if a noisy one.
I managed a nap myself yesterday, I was somewhat tired.

Need to leave for ATL and my hair appointment. I've managed to read as far as Ed's Kelp Caviar.....just nope...I will watch it, but me thinks this is one of those things that just doesn't need to be. Caviar is delicious...and they're fish eggs. period. LOL!!
Glad Dinah is getting out of 'confinement' to see the house. Also glad since she's the little one, that she's still got her courage! Little spitfire she is!!! Good Girl!!!
Roger, I couldn't force myself out in your cold weather...I admire anyone who does.

Howdy y'all. It's scintillating Sunday! 43 out there right now with an expected high of 63 and no chance of rain.
Sink has been cleared, I've had my first morning visit with Dinah. Lilo was waiting outside the door when I came out from the hall bathroom. I think she was eavesdropping on my conversation with Dinah.
I've eaten the last of the turkey and some stuffing, with the last of the gravy, for breakfast. Still some stuffing left. I guess I'll cook a few chicken tenders to go with the last two servings of stuffing. There is nothing else left from the Thanksgiving feast.
Lilo is in my lap now as I sip my tea.
The cats will be fed shortly.
Still need to get out to a grocery store.

I was out walking again this Morning + 1 Cent. The temperature this morning was 40 on the porch and 44 on the cable channel. There was no wind when I left the house and it started blowing gently as I was walking.
I stopped at the Grocery Store for Bananas and they were riper than I wanted as they have to last for days so I stopped at the produce store where they were more to my liking. I also picked up a 99 cent Raspberries, D'Anjou Pears and Red Plums.

Currently the rest of the Turkey is in the freezer and today for a slight change I pulled a older Roast Chicken Breast meat from the freezer as it is not Vacuum sealed and will not keep as good. I had a little Stuffing and Mashed Potatoes and 2 Ounces of Turkey with my dinner last night, I used the Stuffing and Mashed as a Fruit replacement.parityanimal wrote: »Howdy y'all. Since I have never had Caviar it is possible that I could like Kelp caviar, Not to likely that I will ever run across it at a price I would take a chance on it OTOH.

I was morning when I started reading here, and now its half past lunch!
Sunny here, slight breeze, and I think I may venture outdoors with my pruners....plants beware!!
I had a nice lunch of leftovers (acorn squash, roasted carrots and onions) and chicken fried tofu from my stop at WF-Midtown yesterday. Breakfast this morning was avocado toast and a banana...so I'm good to go for quite awhile I should think.
Tell you what Roger when they invent body suit warmers to go with the heated gloves, I might maybe, go outside at 40 degrees! LOL!!!
Ed it would be great if the two kittens would eat the same food. Much easier for 'Edvard" the fisherman. Sorry I couldn't think of a really good Finnish name for this version of another of your 'Ed Hats'.
As you two are finishing up your holiday trimmings I'm about to create more! I think I will later today mix up the bagged stuffing that I bought, and besides the veg's, like celery mushrooms, etc. I'll add some nicely seasoned lentils to try to duplicate the stuffing and lentils I ate from Whole Foods last week. And maybe make a fruit salad. I have those fake Clementines that I picked up last Tues at Kroger...I really should take those ORANGES back to them...if those small oranges are Clementines then I'm Elmer Fudd! Also have some Sweet Tango apples, grapes, and frozen blueberries, so that should work. Oh, and I have an Asian Pear too in the refrigerator. Maybe a few flakes of coconut??

Howdy y'all. It's marvelous Monday! 32 out there now with an expected high of 62 and no chance of rain.
I've eaten, and the sink is mostly cleared, other than yesterday's cat bowls. The cats will be fed shortly. I've made my first visit to Dinah and she was most excited to see me. We still need to get her to the vet to be chipped and, of course, get all her old paperwork filed with them.
She is still wary of the other cats, but she did have a nice, self guided tour through the main house, again, yesterday. She is interested in EVERYTHING, of course, and not happy about being confined to that hall bathroom when she knows there's a great big (ha, maybe to her) house to run around in.
When she finishes the dry food she came with, she will be eating the same dry food as Kiara, at least through February, I think, at which point we may transition both of them into a regular "young adult" cat food or may let them keep on with kitten food for another month or two, just to make sure. That decision will be made when we come to it. She was already eating the same canned cat food so there's no transition necessary there.
