Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! 8/47 with an expected high of 11/51 and 40% chance of precipitation.

I need to do all the usual stuff and we have weekend company who arrived last night.

    Good Morning!
Breaking News......There is a big bright thingy in the sky! Run for your lives!!! LOL!!

I read a bit, watched some video's..humored the cat..in out, need snacks, this on top of already eating a can of cat food...Shrimp and fish! I expect the day will come...and I will miss all this. ?

I really, really take exception to the dude with his glucose meter. I'm thinking they should not give these things to people who are clueless. After a meal, and his BS had increased to a reading in the teens...like dude, that's how blood sugars work..eat, spike, (which is Normal) . If you do a correct sugar reading...its postprandial meaning 2 hours after your meal. So, in my mind if your rise after eating is this small, you've eaten a lot of fat and protein for your meal...ring in Keto, or Dr. Adkins...you remember him...eat all the meat and butter you can...him who had advanced heart disease...and I'll guess his kidneys were probably groaning/screaming from having to deal with protein overload. Oh, and he was fat to boot...by about 30 pounds. Way to go fake Diet Doc.

Today I plan to get a jump on my week by doing laundry! and mopping a few floors...and applying the duster to a lot of things. (should be to everything, but I'm not in the mood for that kinda thing today)

Leg feels pretty good this morning. YAY!!

My yard is so pretty...lots and lots of Lenten Rose blooming, and my little clumps of daffodils, Daphne is loving this easy (so far) winter. but what is really astounding, is my moss lawn!!! So pretty, and light-ish green, offsets the clumps of darker foliage, and the browns of trees and shrubs haven't gotten their leaves yet.

Ok, I'm about to 'hop up' from my chair and get the 'ToDo's list checked off....

    Later...

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and no money was found. The Temperature out the door was 38 degrees. The wind in the forecast arrived on schedule and as I was out walking facing into wind gusts they were strong enough to bring me to a near stop so I changed my plans as far as where I walked to have the wind at my side for most of the walk.

    Hi Valerie
I have not watched that one about the sweeteners yet, I would have hoped that when he says I tested my fasting blood sugar upon waking. I then drank my morning coffee with the equivalent of 4 teaspoons of each sweetener, and took my blood sugar level again after one hour.
that the coffee was all he had before the second test, I guess I'll know after watching it.

A Jump on the week  That is something I should be thinking about, I already did one of my To Do items this morning when I walked to the post office and mailed a couple of bill payments off. The only other items is possibly go to the bank later and deposit the Income Tax Refund Check, it could also wait until Wednesday when I know I can get the car out or even until my Pension Check arrives. They are both going into the account that I use to Pay one of my credit cards from and that card is up higher than I want due to buying books for my brother off of Amazon.

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and no money was found. The Temperature out the door was 29 degrees. The wind from yesterday has moderated, however there was enough to cause a wind chill in the 0 to 10 degree range according to the weather forecast and It did feel like that.

    Good Morning Guys!
Sun is shining, with promise of a great day! As soon as my arm feels better that is. While at Little Doc's yesterday, reviewing my vaccination record, she said I needed to update my Pneumovax vaccine to Pneumovax 23...so I did. Just shoot me! My arm is soooo sore. the reaction started in the afternoon, probably about 4 hours after the injection. (which was sooo smooth I truly did not feel it!!) Anyway, the injection site began to itch. So I put some anti itch lotion that I had on it and went on with my life....this morning, its hot, hard in an area about 1.5 X 2.5 and sore as _______....well fill in your own word. I just finished eating my breakfast, which today included an Aleve for dessert. I have some searching to do in just a minute. Guessing that the original Pheumo antibodies were still active, and that the new ones were looked upon as an invader, and they have been attacked! Whatever, not comfy, not happy. I'm sure the Aleve will help a great deal. Otherwise Little Doc may be seeing me sooner than she expected!
Other than that, I got a clean bill of health. :)
I also went to Costco AND Kroger before my afternoon appointment with Little Doc...I actually expected my leg to be sore...but its not. Maybe the arm (injected it into my Triceps muscle) soreness trumped the leg bone???? LOL!

Not much else..no particular plans for today. An area near the kitchen where my carpet could use a good cleaning, eh, maybe...catch up on some reading...maybe... I'm sure something will come along to keep my occupied. Always does.

Kinda giggly about Roger's perception of just what a Burrito 'should' be. How abut purple potato, beans rice and finely chopped broccoli??? With a splat of plant based cheeze sauce??? LOL!! Really!!!
Several of his articles from today I mean to read...see, already things are beginning to show up...and there is also the Pneumovax 23 to read up on. I do want to get outside for a bit this afternoon to look at my yard! I may, just might, take a pruner with me......I can here the shrubs quaking already! Seriously the roses need to be cut back, also the butterfly bush, etc...and so it begins...must be 'pre-spring' already in GA.

Ed's busy with company, but you need to know Ed that I'm enjoying video's as I get a chance to watch them. :)
I seem to be almost as busy as I was when I was working...driving to this or that 3-4 times a week, trying to manage chores, etc. ACK!! When I get back from the beach Ed, we need to schedule a morning/midday coffee time!

OH! About my exam yesterday....I had to play 20 questions...the nurse asked me 'idiot' questions like what year is it, what month is it?? And part of the assessment was about could I do light housekeeping, drive, shower, dress independently, and eventually we got into the fun stuff...memory check...She first warned me that she would be giving me a list to remember and regurgitate later...finally...The house is RED...the car is GREEN. When you go to the car you must remember to take your 'KEYS and WALLET, and ONE shoe....um huh...ONE shoe. I laughed. And later when asked I could tell her all the above. This was new. I've never had this kind of assessment before. I guess it triggered because of this coming birthday. I surely hope I can continue to pass muster for as long as I can still breathe!

I tend to have a sore spot where vaccines are injected, However nothing as severe as what You are experiencing. I hope the Aleve helps, I tend to stick to Aspirin.

I would say that is a good thing that the Knee is OK, Maybe it is healed or nearly healed ?

    Hi, Quick note...on this Wednesday 2 27
Have to shower so I can make my way to town and my hair cut. I will come back for video's AND several of the articles.
Cloudy, my weather apps (yes I have two) are both showing drizzle today....in Duluth GA, my closest weather reporting station...on the other hand ATLANTA is only cloudy for the day....wait, WHAT?? The ATL is only 20 miles away...
My BIG decision for the day....do I drive to WF since its so close...or do I not. Also there are at least 3 things I've seen from Trader Joes that interest me...top pick is Chili Lime Cashews...now I could really get into that!

Lunch for National Pancake Day was scrambled eggs with cheese, fake bacon (for J), sausage patties (for me), one hash brown patty each, and three small pancakes each, with butter and real maple syrup.

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and one beat up and corroded penny was found. If it were not for the round shape I would have missed it as it was a similar color to the crack in the road where I spotted it. The Temperature out the door was 28 degrees. Yesterdays "Snow" left the roads wet and most of the sidewalks likewise with a coating on the lawns that the grass is peeking through.

Howdy y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! Company is gone, much to Orion's relief, and I need to get yesterday's load of laundry folded and put away, and do some more laundry today. I might get out to Aldi for some handy frozen pancakes so we can eat some for lunch. Or I could just make some...

    HAPPY NATIONAL PANCAKE DAY!
    Hello Ed
Dang it, I missed that one, I could have had some Pancakes with Butter melting into them, No Syrup, FWIW my brother regards not having pancakes with butter and Maple Syrup as Heresy.
    Singapore Noodles in 5 Minutes
I wonder if these are similar to the ones my brother buys at the Chinese take out in the ShopRite grocery store ?
4 Levels of Spaghetti & Meatballs: Amateur to Food Scientist, We challenged chefs of three different levels - an amateur, a home cook and a professional chef - to make their versions of spaghetti & meatballs.
Hmm... The taste has to be subjective as many people make and cook the Meatballs differently. Then The Tomato Gravy and choice of what type of Spaghetti as even more variables...

4 Levels of Mac and Cheese: Amateur to Food Scientist, We challenged chefs of three different levels - an amateur, a home cook and a professional chef - to make their versions of macaroni and cheese
Once again lots of variables, Cheese(s) and cooking come to mind as well as what Macaroni is used will affect how much cheese sticks to the Macaroni will have a effect too.
    SPINACH & BUTTER BEAN CURRY
They lost me at Curry
Lunch for National Pancake Day was scrambled eggs with cheese, fake bacon (for J), sausage patties (for me), one hash brown patty each, and three small pancakes each, with butter and real maple syrup.
Sounds Tasty, Eggs and Cheese Whee. Sausage patties In my case would depend on seasoning used when they are made, Plus Please no meat except pork. Hash Brown Patty, Oven Roasted ? Is there any syrup worth using beyond real Maple Syrup ?

    Have a Good Day

    Hi, Quick note...on this Wednesday 2 27
Have to shower so I can make my way to town and my hair cut. I will come back for video's AND several of the articles.
Cloudy, my weather apps (yes I have two) are both showing drizzle today....in Duluth GA, my closest weather reporting station...on the other hand ATLANTA is only cloudy for the day....wait, WHAT?? The ATL is only 20 miles away...

    Hello Valerie
The Problem with showering before the haircut is the need for another one to get rid of the small irritating hairs from the cutting. Having said that I always shower first too.

Off and on Cloudy sky this morning, when I left out I could not even see low flying planes, later on I could see the Moon and stars and then some clouds rolled in. Possible bad weather this weekend, The weather forecasters will not commit yet, ever since they were wrong back in November they have been cautious that way.

MY guess is that could both be wrong or not.

The big problem with WF is they are not that cheap, Add in the Bakery Department temptations and Oh Oh.

How far away is Trader Joes ? None of the NJ locations are all that closet to us here. FWIW Chili Lime Cashews would not be a temptation since Cashews make me itch for several days, And I love the taste :(

    Have a Nice Day

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! 13C/56F with an expected high of17C/63F and 100% (verified) chance of precipitation.

Still working on laundry, which should come as no surprise to anyone!

Yes. I almost always oven roast the hash brown patties. Once in a blue moon I might pan fry them in a little ghee or butter. The sausage was the frozen, precooked pork sausage patties that I get at Aldi, and the pancakes were their handy dandy frozen ones that come 8 3-packs to a bag. The sausage is available in original or maple. I prefer the original.

    Ok, back now.
Poor Ole Tom E. Cat! He so badly wants to be outside...but not in the rain! And it is sprinkle/rain all morning. He'll get over it...or I will go lock myself in the garage! LOL!
Yes, WF can be expensive depending on how you shop, and what you want. I have a Chase/Amazon C/C, (for years), and so the money spent is not what you might pay. Like some items are 'sale', or discounted, etc. I did good, much better than usual. I wanted Chicken Fried Tofu, and got it, and a smallish scoop of their vegan mac and cheese. and I left! Cost me $5 bucks...I've eaten the tofu twice and have at least one more serving and I've not eaten the mac&cheese yet. So I can hardly complain about the cost! Its when I give into impulse items that the price goes up. I really don't do that as often as I once did. And I was in a hurry, as I was picking Ted up on the street on my way to Trader Joe's. (Several blocks from Ted's home, and about 2 miles maybe 3 from Whole Foods). I'm not to great with guessing distance though. :)

Sooner or later I will need to get the house trash gathered up and into the wheelie and to the curb...Right now I'm enjoying a sweet cup of hot Taso Tea..Chai flavored with nice spices, etc. No milk, not even the nut kind. I learned to drink it that way years ago and so its a preference for it.

My SIL is in town from Texas, and after several attempts at communicating yesterday, we've managed to agree on a time and place!!

My phone just rang...once. and I cupped my palm over my Apple watch, which silences the ringer, but does not end the call...!! Very handy option these days. :)

Going back to check out the Spinach and Lima Bean Curry. To me, that sounds interesting. I can see Roger shaking his head...I guess I'd better not tell him I really do not like 'red sauce, or red gravy as you all call it) Everybody to their own taste buds, and what they grew up with.

Enjoy your day...I'm hoping mine gets sunny or something. (Planes are flying low into Hartsfield ....I can hear the planes!

    Later...
