    Hi!
I've skimmed thru the posts...Jury duty in Knoxville was same as Memphis, only I got picked twice. The folks that I worked for would deduct the $15 bucks from our salary amount and pay the difference. Not only was the $15 bucks insufficient pay, (the court actually laughed about it), but then end of year, I had to pay TAXES on the $15.!!! Final insult???

I've been in the yard for the past several days..Yesterday I cleaned the back porch of all the straw bedding that Tom E. played around with, and some junk that I put there a long time ago...keeping only the heavy glass bucket, and 4 blue insulators that Benj left here 20 years ago. My brother may be interested in them...otherwise, out they go!

Tom E. Story. For the past couple days I've had the porch screen door propped open, the yard gate open, and the sliding glass door into the house. Tom E. has loved running in and out, stopping occasionally to lay on the wrought iron table in the back yard to watch (supervise) what I was doing. I guess he thought this openness was to be excepted ...he's been sitting at the yard gate for over half an hour....do you suppose he things it will magically open??? LOL!!

I managed jury duty here in GA 3 years running...and my boss and business owner was also called on but either the week before or after my week! Now I'm old enough I don't have jury duty responsibilities any more, and by the time of the next election I'll be old enough to be escorted to the head of the waiting line!!! That's a big bonus!

Ok....out I go. Time to cut/pull or otherwise eradicate some brambles like Cat's paw and a few black berry canes etc. Its 67 out, with intermittent showings of a bright disk in the sky. Sun maybe???

    Later...

Howdy y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! 65 out there now with an expected high of 73 and 20% chance of precipitation.

I am up obscenely early as I have to report to the courthouse this morning for jury duty. The cats have been fed and my breakfast is in the microwave. If I have time I may post a couple of videos before I drive out.

Howdy y'all. 65 out there now with an expected high of 72 and 20% chance of precipitation. Didn't need to drive to Lawrenceville this morning. Will find out tonight whether I'll need to tomorrow.

Need to wash yesterday's cat bowls. And see if BOTH my scrips at Walgreens are ready. I got email early this morning that they were working on them, and later got email telling me that ONE of them was ready, but not both. I don't want to go there to get one and then have to wait while they complete the other, or go back later to get the other...so I'll check in a while if I don't get another email.
    Hi Ed
That makes sense to me, why waste time waiting if You do not need the one that is ready.
    Cheeseburger fries?
FWIW I might like a Cheeseburger Fry. I have tried the Italian Cheeseburger from Jimmy Buffs which is served in a 1/4 or 1/2 of a round Italian Bread that has a small hole in the middle with Deep Fried Potato Chunks, Deep Fried Peppers and Deep Fried Onions and Cheese.

    Very tasty too.
    PICKLE cupcakes?
I like some types of Pickles especially the Bread & Butter ones. However not in a Cupcake.

I woke up at 4:30 myself and did not manage to fall asleep again so out I went walking.

Today shall be a trip to the bank and CostCo as I have used up all of the frozen vegetables I buy there.

Good Luck with the Jury Duty

That they send a tax form does not surprise me sadly. Talk about strange things, my Brother got a 1099 for interest paid on a savings account. Would You believe the bank sent on for the 85 cents in interest paid. He has sat down with the people at the bank and they are puzzled why too.

Are those the same ones that I have seen on the Telegraph poles along the railroad tracks ?
If so as an example I looked on eBay

Yup that Tax Refund check is the object of my bank stop on the way to CostCo

There seems to be a Tax Refund Scam that involves the scammer filing for Your Refund and then calling to say that they, the IRS overpaid and wanting the money returned with a bank transfer.

    Have fun with it

Hi! Busy day, not much accomplished. :(. Gym and Groceries.
I hd't heard of the scam that Roger spoke of. Just the people who would file with your SS# while claiming to be you. Also, I have mine direct deposit, they have my account number on file, so I don't have to send that every year. My paper check was stolen from my mailbox when I lived in my apartment in ATL one year. What a mess. I did eventually get my money..the fed's check was cashed at an appliance store in South ATL...they signed it...but misspelled my name. Guess nobody asked to see the 2 forms of ID that is supposed to be checked if you cash out a Tax refund check.

FOOD ALERT. Do not even LOOK at Peeps..."pancake and syrup." OMG! Stay safe..do not buy! LOL but they are tasty!!

I had no idea what blue insulators were selling for. I'll have to go back to that page you provided the link to Roger. All I know is mine are blue. LOL!

Sorry you had to sit at the courthouse today Ed. It probably was warm. We set a new record LOW topping previous warm overnight. and record HIGH today of 77 degrees. I loved it! No coats or jackets...just warmness!

Tomorrow and Friday they're predicting we'll break high temps both days! Yahoo!!!

Glad to see I'm not the only one who's not so crazy about pickles! My Mother used to make 'bread and butter pickles'..have no idea why they were called that...but they were pretty ok!

Going to see if I can get Tom E. to come inside so I can go to bed. No Olympics for me tonite. It was a late night last night, followed by a very late awakening this morning.

    Later...

Oh, I did do a load of laundry this morning... :)

Well after the questioning of potential jurors for a case, they picked six out of the twenty potential to actually hear the case.

I sent a single word text to J and he knew I was picked. Let's just say that it was not a nice word and the kid on A Christmas Story said it while changing the tires...

    That's right. *KITTEN*

We didn't finish all the testimony today so I get to go back tomorrow. Whee! At least I don't have to get there at 8:00 tomorrow, but can get there about 10:20 so we'll all be ready for the judge at 10:30. Hopefully we can finish listening, deliberate, and come to a verdict and get home reasonably early.

Of course I can't talk about the case itself, not even to J, but neither of us has a problem with that.

    Hi
I'm back from walking again and no cents. The temperature this morning was 51 on the porch and 54 on the cable news channel. The forecast rain has not started yet, I could see that a few stray drops had hit the glass where I walked. I was dressed a bit lightly due to the warmer temperature and the wind had a bit of a chill to it.

    Hi Valerie
I had not heard that You needed two forms of ID to cash a refund check. I just go to the bank and partially deposit and part cash back the check. They do not ask for ID, They know me at the bank I went to and the other bank my brother and I go to. A misspelled name and they never noticed.

The record high for Wednesday was 80 in at least one part of NJ. That was also a record high for the entire month of February here in NJ. Today is forecast to have the days temperatures dropping throughout the day with Ice building up in the Northeast corner of NJ.

I developed a taste for Bread and Butter Pickles eating the Home Made ones at my Grandparents that they made with pickles from their fairly large garden.

I shall be interested in knowing if the insulators You have are worth any real money

    Have a Nice Day

I'm sorry to hear that You were selected, You must have managed to look trustworthy and impartial to the people selecting from the jury pool.

I hope You are right that it all wraps up today.

Howdy y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! 41 out there now with an expected high of 53 and 20% chance of precipitation.

Heading out after a while for Jury Duty. I think we are earning our $30 day. You would think they would pay more if you actually get selected and have to sit in a jury, since that's more work than sitting around in the jury room but it's $30 per day regardless.

Oh well, it's $30 extra for each day for me since my "employer" won't be deducting it from my pay.
