Well I got my walk in, making 7 days in a row! Then had an early lunch and headed to market. I started at PetSmart and got enough wet cat food to last through the end of the month, and some kitty litter, so that ate up $74.52. They didn't have the kibble I needed for the princesses, but I ordered that online at the same price, with free shipping.

Then on to Kroger, to get other things we needed. $135.71 later I headed home to unpack, and put groceries away. I didn't quite get everything I wanted, but can make a Publix run tomorrow, or maybe even Target, or Ingles, to get the bit that I still need. I got all the items that were nearing critical, and a few that weren't there yet but were dwindling so a slight delay on what we still need is no big deal. I feel confident that we can get them before we run out.

I even got chicken, as Kroger had plenty! I may still look for a turkey breast when I go back to the store though.

Howdy all y'all. It's superlative Sunday! We are looking at a high of 86 today with no chance of precipitation. I may take a day off from walking, other than what I walk looking for that last bit of groceries. But maybe not. The fresh air is kind of calling to me, though my legs and ankles might be saying enough is enough. I will listen to them again in a bit and make up my mind. As J reminded me last night, it's easy to find an excuse to NOT walk...

Breakfast was scrambled eggs wth cheese and sausage crumbles, bacon, and one small biscuit with butter, and blackberry all-fruit spread.

Hi Ed...can you hear me laughing??
I started here about an hour ago....read your post, then decided to quick watch the Emmy post making Japanese candy...which led to an Emmy vid. about frying dandelions, and on to a Hard TImes video tribute to a woman named Clara.....and you can see why I'm laughing.!!! So, easy to get totally lost once you enter the danger zone called 'Internet'...yikes

Sunny and about 72 degrees at my house. I should get dressed and get my bones outside now.
Hope you get out for at least some fresh air. J was right about how easy it is to talk yourself out of going for a walk....When I worked at the gym, I had 8 hours to decide I didn't need to exercise, and I was exhausted just watching everyone else doing their workouts...:(
Yesterday afternoon I took my cup of tea outside and sat in the sun..felt soooo good, but it wasn't as good for me as a walk would have been!!

I think I may just take a swipe at the laundry, sometime today.

Looking at the pix from one of your video's ...and I see multiple layers of bread, with avocado, perhaps cheese, and something? not sure what, also tomato slices.....I NEED to watch that!

I also need to harvest two ginormous heads of Lion's Mane mushrooms that are growing here on the dining room table! I sure hope you can't OD on them, cuz there are days worth growing now. I see mushroom ragu in my very near future. :)

I got a walk in today, and I did get to Target and Publix for the rest of the groceries. If my legs feel the same in the morning as they do now, I will take a break tomorrow and let them (and my feet) have a rest. I am drinking extra PowerAde this evening as my legs were feeling a bit crampy when I got up from my nap.

Tuna casserole is in the oven for my dinner, and J will be having leftovers from last night's Fiesta scalloped potatoes, and the brocolli gratin I made. I had baked chicken thighs last night to go with small servings of both of those, and J just had larger servings of the two casseroles.

My tuna casserole for tonight has peas and carrots in it, and I consider it to be a complete meal in one casserole.

I did get a Butterball turkey breast roast at Publix today but haven't put it in the refregerator to thaw as yet. I may let Eduardo stew over some ideas on just what to do with it. It can sit in the freezer in the interval.

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday! It is supposed to be pretty warm today, with 20% chance of rain. I will probably take the day off from walking and let my legs and feet rest.

Maybe I can do some kind of upper body exercise at home today, just to get something in. Or maybe just some housework and call it exercise! If I try to do much in the house, the cats try to help and I can end up rolling on the floor, laughing, instead of whatever exercise I was trying to do.

Is there an olympic medal for rolling on the floor laughing?

May the fourth be with you!

    Welllll, here I am again..late.
I read your post, got sidelined by a food video...which I had for dinner...pasta, garlic peas, and some vegan margarine and a sprinkle of vegan Parm cheese.

Ted and I went to Home Depot and picked up a hosta, 3 new pots for orchid repotting in a few weeks, bag of 10-10-10- fert. and one of mushroom compost. Oh, yes, why we went to HD...2 very small tomato plants, one hosta, and 2 marigold plants to keep the tomatoes company. :) Yes, I don't do it anymore, but I was always a big fan of companion planting in the garden.

So, Ted dug the holes, and I plunked the plants in the amended dirt, Ted positioned the tomato cages, and dug and planted the hosta. Gardening done for the day!! And a nap to boot!

Rolling on the floor in fits of laughter is in my opinion a legal Olympic Sport!!! Takes a lot of struggling and body weight exercise to remove ones self from the floor for starts......:)
I have been telling my watch on Saturday mornings that I am doing 'functional training'...I dare them to disagree!

Supposed to be warm again tomorrow, and then...back into the 60's for daily highs for a week!! Hope my tomatoes forgive me. Its not the summer heat that they had anticipated! :)

See you in the morning....post my early morning solo trip to the grocery store.

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! Another warm one predicted, with 60% chance of PM thunderstorms. I may be able to squeeze a walk in. We will see...

Otherwise nothing major on the agenda. I don't think that turkey will be thawed enough tonight. If it is, I might cook it tonight but it is more likely to make it to the table Wednesday night.

Good Morning Ed...(take note it really IS morning!)
Home from the grocery...have everything I need, except...to make the baked spanish casserole I want to try, I need 2 cups of chopped tomatillo's. Publix didn't have any??? Like I expected to find them there? LOL! Haven't been to my Mexican market since PF closed, but I will be going to get my tomatillo's. Love the little tomato looking, lemony tasting things.

I think I have a Bakers Cyst going on with my right knee. Damn thing hurts for sure, right behind my knee. Walking is no fun. Plan to do a bit of checking up with Dr. Google. I've had one before, maybe 6 or more years ago...

All of next week, starting I believe on Saturday, that cold front is going to make us look for our sweatshirts and long pants....I think that would be a perfect time to cook and use that turkey breast!! Turkey sandwiches, turkey tetrazzini, turkey veg. soup, ok, its been so long since I ate this stuff, I can't really remember any other things to do with turkey.... :).

Have a good walk today. I'm going to be babying this knee. Last one ended up with an injection of Cortisone in the knee. I'd rather not do that again...but...I'll give it a week before I stick my neck out and say I won't.

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! It's a lot cooler here today, with no chance of precipitaiton. I walked first thing, to enjoy the brisk air and avoid some of the sunlight. My fingers were a little stiff when I got back, but I started my tea right away and made breakfast and they warmed back up pretty quickly.

No big agenda today. Maybe a little light housework. And Eduardo is going to do something with that turkey breast roast today.

Eduardo cooked the turkey breast today, smothered in onion soup mix. It came out very tender and moist, just the way I like it! I couldn't find the green peas that I think I have in the freezer, but they may be buried deeply in there. So I settled on just turkey and taters, with gravy.

Here's how it looked when I started it in a Crock Pot. The onions got tender and very darkly caramelized when it was done.

And here was my dinner plate. :) Yes, I like a lot of pepper on my food.

Well, wonders of all wonders. I thought I said good morning. I watched the cheese sandwich video..(aka 'heart attack' special')..bet it was tasty. And I watched the 1930's potato buns. I seem to recall making those, or something close to them when i was in high school. And they were quite good. If you get bored....:) :) Bet Jason would love them!

    Good Morning Ed..
So how was Kroger today? I gave it some thought when I woke at 6...but couldn't muster enough energy to roll out of bed!! Needless to say nothing 'critical' on my list!

Not much on the agenda for today...its trash to the street day, and I'm going to make up the tofu scramble seasoning mix from earlier video...maybe a stir fry later sometime today. Check on my tomato plants, and a nap. That's it! LOL!!

Hope you had a good visit with the fine folks at Kroger. :) I will have to say, for people who are up at ungodly hours in the morning so us 'boomers' can shop, they are a friendly bunch! Of course under those masks could be a rabid snarl for all we know!!!

I was really glad I went to Kroger. It wasn't very busy at all, and I was the first customer in the door, though followed shortly thereafter by severan others. I found everything I wanted, and grabbed a couple of things I hadn't put on the list, though I did want them. I got reminded when seeing them. At least you can get beans and rice now, though the rice shelf didn't have a lot on it. I was out of Kroger and driving home at 7:26.

Later, on my walk, I took a mask in my jacket pocket, and went through Publix for just a few things. Particularly a dozen jumbo eggs, since I had really wanted to get two dozen at Kroger, but they had a limit of one. So at Publix I got eggs, and some shredded mild Cheddar, frozen peas, since I did a thorough search of the deep freeze after Kroger and still didn't find the package I thought I had in there. I may remember eating it ... maybe when I made that meatloaf last month.

And J was looking for chocolate last night so I also grabbed a family size bag of miniature Reese's cups, and a small bag of Hershey Miniatures, featuring Special Dark as part of the mix. If J is lucky, he MAY get to eat a Special Dark or two... LOL. At least with bite size, portion control is easier. We can get just a little taste of chocolate without opening a big bar and then eating the whole thing.

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday! It is supposed to rain later, so I need to get on out there for my walk, as soon as I finish this mug of tea. I will want the rest when I get back, as it's a bit chilly out there!

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! It's a good thing I have my computer and phone to remind me what day it is because they are all running together lately.

It's cold and sunny out, and should remain cool today. It was 41 when I got up (a bit later than usual) and is 43 now. I think I'll let it get a tad warmer before I walk. And I will enjoy my hot tea in the interval.

Maybe a little house work and laundry today.

    Good Morning Ed,
I'd say we're lucky...just a 'bit chilly' I think you said...its colder than that, but we didn't have frost or snow, and the upper counties bordering TN may have. I haven't listened to weather, yet!
Ted's got me all 'conflicted' again this fine Saturday morning. Yes, its cleaning day...I even set my alarm for 7a. I wanted to get a head start on the morning, by having a cup of coffee in peace and quiet. Didn't work out that way though...Mr Saturday Overachievement Day...he had already taken up the kitchen rugs, the hall way runners, and was mopping the kitchen floor!!! He did stop long enough for me to make a cup of Mushroom coffee. (good thing, otherwise he wouldn't likely have lived!!) LOL!! I truly appreciate all that he does around here...but so early???
So, then he left for Publix, and when he asked if I needed anything, I said yes, a SMALL bunch of banana's, (I'd get a bunch on Tuesday....and I'm the one who eats a banana daily) also a jar of Nayonaise or Vegenaise. SOooooo, There is a bunch of 8 banana's on the counter, and the Veganaise is in the refrigerator....8 banana's...a small bunch??? Shaking my head, can you hear it rattling? :)

Well, Tom's on my lap again today. Its a good thing I have spell check, and a back button,...typing is not easy with this big ole Tom E. on my lap!

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! And it's *KITTEN* cold out there! I think a day off from walking would be a splendid idea. I have a bit of sunburn anyway from the accumulated walks and yesterday's somewhat late walk, with the sun coming down from nearer to straight above with less atmosphere to filter the UV.

But I DID find a new route that bypasses some construction constriction where they were tearing up the sidewalks. There is a breakdown lane I can walk in there but I am not really crazy about that idea, and it is going to turn into a turning lane eventually for the gas station they are building. So finding a way to bypass that and actually find a decent amount of shade along the way was good.

Not a lot on the agenda today. Maybe some light housework.

Howdy all y'all. It's magnificent Monday! It's quite chilly right now, but the sun should warm things up quickly, and it should reach about 66 today. I will take a walk shortly. Right now I need to finish this mug of tea. Breakfast was leftover legume based rotini and meat sauce. I made a good bit for last night's dinner and baked some of it, layered with Mozzarella, for a hearty dinner. The one on the right had meat sauce and the one on the left had no meat, but a bit of extra cheese, for J's protein.

Almost finished with my tea, so I'll be heading out.

    Hey Ed!
It is a beautiful day. A bit windy, but to be expected this time of year. I have ripened a fresh pineapple, and today I can smell it....time to cut off the outside, and slice it up and refrigerate. I can't wait to eat some ...will be my 'dessert' tonite.

Glad you were able to find a new route...gotta be careful out there. No sidewalks is a big reason I don't walk in my neighborhood.

I had a good Mothers Day, Ted made a very early trip to WHole Foods and came home with 2 vegan apple turnovers for my breakfast and a nice piece of vegan chocolate cake for my dessert after our dinner from VeGreen. I was pretty upset by the time I went to bed...big pix on fb of my granddaughter cheek to cheek with Jenn's Mom. I guess social distancy, and staying home has gone out the window. I sure hope Livy is going to remain virus free...I didn't sleep very much last night, and this morning after I made a trip to Kroger, Ted, unfortunately, got to listen to my anger over that pix. So, I've slept most of this day...and had my leftovers from VeGreen for late lunch. I managed to snag 6 bottles of the Sparkling Water that I like, and a tiny 2 oz. bottle of hand sanitizer...I was OUT of my bottle, this bottle will last quite some time, I only use it as I leave the supermarket. Other than that, its me, soap, water, and a lot of singing going on around the house!!

I'll see if I can get here a bit earlier....we'll see. :)..LOL!

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! I have already walked and am typing with somewhat frigid fingers. Orion is keeping my lap warm.

I gave Lilo her shot while she was licking the paper plate I had my steak and eggs on, and she barely noticed.

Not a lot on the agenda today. I need to warm up my fingers enough to feed the cats. Maybe wrapping them around this mug of hot tea will help.

    Hey Ed!
Hope your fingers have thawed! All clear here, Tom E. is outside. He's spending more time out than in during the daylight hours. When he finds a patch of sun in the back yard he zonks out!

Since i did groceries yesterday, I didn't get up to make my weekly Publix run. Amazing how much better my day went!

Fixed the darnedest lunch ever. But it was good. I had some chard that I HAD to cook today, and so that went into the skillet with onion, garlic, and a bit of fake chicken broth...and I had some tofu that was left over from something I made Sunday, so cubes of tofu were fried, and mixed into the chard, and also some left over rice to make a bed in the bottom of my 'bowl'. Sounds icky, but it really was tasty. I have some leftovers, and I may make a nut cream and see how this works. lol! Maybe some nooch too!!

I think now I will figure out what dinner is gonna look like. I'd like to have avocado toast, but I've got a really nice ripe tomato, so I can see a good ole tomato and mayo (Nayonaise) on toast sandwich. hmmmmm.

    Good Morning Ed.
Couple more of the vid's to watch,..Emmy's got something violently blue in her hands, etc.
Was good with the cookie bars...til it got to that can of condensed moo. Nope!

Probably about the time you were walking, I woke, and stepped outside with my coffee...pretty chilly..back into the house for a robe...and I hope my weather app is wrong...cuz its not showing any sun time today. :(.

My intentions for the day is just some odd jobs...the clutter has come back, and it's driving me nuts...Me, the clutter queen...so for a bit of sanity I will attack my 'working corner' on my kitchen counter...you know that corner between the stove and the sink...seems to attract cooking stuff. And the former dining room table...now know as my desk...is totally out of hand. Also a stack of stuff to put thru the shredder... and two long video's one being an introduction sorta of vegan cooking. Thought I might see a 'trick' or two I've forgotten.

Not sure about nap time today??? Yeah, will make room for that too! Would hate to break tradition. :)

And I have already logged 22 of my 30 minutes exercise. so there's also that...I better get gong!

    Hey Ed!
Mystery...I watched, but didn't post. Wonder what grabbed my attention this time??? Also, there is a sticky on my computer. It says, "End of June $20. " I have no idea what the heck that is all about! LOL! I'd like to think it was incoming $20, but have the sneaking thought that I will need to pay something/someone 20 bucks. ah well

Fed my little tomato plants this afternoon. I mentioned something to them about growing!!

And that's about it for this day...sure glad I don't try to write a blog...it would be really boring these past several weeks!

Time to assemble a dinner of sorts. I had a hot lunch, so thinking I will do a cold veg. and tofu sandwich, and something....to be determined once the refrigerator/freezer is opened!! :)

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday! I may walk later, may not. We'll see. Just got back from sitting in the Vet's parking lot while they checked Lilo for a UTI and gave her a shot. After I feed the cats, I may take a walk but it might be about time for a day off anyway. I'll decide in a while.

I will need to get to the grocery soon, probably this weekend, by Monday at the latest. Nothing has gone critically low yet but you know how things creep in that direction!

    Hey Ed,
Hope you have a good walk, if, you choose to go! I took yesterday off. Have done 20 minutes on the recumbent, and my intention is to jot down a list of upper body exercises with my dumbbells. (I know I've been threatening to get that list together for weeks....). Sometimes the wheels of change move very slowly!!!

POTUS is on my tv instead of the local news. I am about to turn it off. Its an infomercial of how great I am. Grrrrr! (this after reading how ABBOTT labs says their Coronavirus tests are not very accurate. Has a pretty percentage of false negatives. And blaming it partially on type of swabs, or length of time from collection to testing.. just great. :(

Ted's been busy this morning, some of it just moving reclaimed 2X4's from area to area in the back yard. Might I suggest he's in need of a project??? LOL!

For now, my main goal is a nap!!!

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! Pretty warm today and I would even venture to say a bit hot this afternoon, according to the forecast. My "walk" today was through Kroger and then back and forth to bring groceries in and put them away. I have alread lost track of how many times I washed my hands this morning.

I pretty much blew the grocery budget for the rest of the month. I have about 20 to 21 dollars left in that account. But on the plus side, I did actually find everything I needed and could have even picked up paper towels and/or toilet paper if needed, as they actually had some available. Not a lot, and not necessarily the brand I usually buy, but who can be picky nowadays? But since I didn't need any, I left those to more needy customers. The $20 or so still in the account probably would have covered those, with maybe a few cents to spare. LOL.

Not a lot on the agenda for today, other than, if I remember to do it, putting some washer fluid in my car. I remember, when I start it and it dings at me, and then think to mysely that I should do that when I get home, but then there are groceries to put away, hands to be washed, cats to be fed, prior day's cat bowls to wash...so I tend to forget.

    Morning Ed
Home from Whole Foods. Weird. Not like Whole Foods...Veg's and fruit all looked super good, and I bought a lot... Picked up an oddity or two that will be fun to 'try'.. discovered I could quickly learn to hate this directional isles...their even worse than one way streets.
Did get a medium size bottle of hand sanitizer. Enough to refill my little mini bottles, one for each car, and the bigger bottle can live on the hall table near the door.
Looked at the sushi...(I only really like sushi during hot weather) and the # of slices have decreased, and the packaging also considerably smaller. Sushi wil come from Kroger from now on. Anyway, got my weeks worth of groceries, snacks, etc...for under $55. Not too shabby, eh?

Ted has cut the grass, and mopped the floors. I still have to run the vacuum.., right after my nap. Sleep was not kind to me...and when I finally did go to sleep, I was rudely awakened with cramps in my right foot, ankle, lower leg. That was not fun. So, nap is going to be a long sleep today.

I started watching the video of vegan beginner, intermediate, and expert entrees. Looks alone I am favoring the beginner...love a good scramble, and you know I love my avocado toast and tomato sandwiches...so they make a perfect open face sandwich to go with that scramble...will have to watch the other 2 and see if I need to change my mind.

Also made a new dish yesterday...crushed tortilla, and salsa, and corn, and beans, etc..with a tart but good tomatillo sauce to put on the baked entree, along with some cubed pieces of avocado. Made half a recipe, and will be eating that for days...............simple, but easy to do. Nothing earth shaking here. :)

    Heading for my nap
