Hi
I'm back from walking and found 1 cent. The Temperature out the door was 64 degrees. It is a nice enough day outside with a misty haze in the air.

My baked beans are in the oven now. We'll pick up a friend on the way and hope for not TOO much rain. The afternoon forecast calls for scattered thundershowers.
Need to clean yesterday's cat bowls, make another mug or two of tea, and feed the cats. And shower for the party, though it's possible I could just wait and let nature shower me there! LOL.
Monday was overcast and rain free, Today it is misty outdoors with low hanging clouds. No real rain in the forecast for until Thursday where the forecasts show 5 days with some rain being shown.parityanimal wrote: »Embarrassing things you should never order at a restaurant.parityanimal wrote: »GardenKatGardens wrote: »
I still like my Instant Pot...it cooks wonderful rice, beans, soups, veggies, is also slow cooker, etc. Frees up a lot of appliances. And, I remembering growing up with my Mom a gas stove, a pressure cooker and watching the pressure gauge so it didn't blow up. Nope, I'll keep my IP....
I noticed that despite the pressure cooker winning her contest she still had a lot of good things to say about the IP and said she liked it anyway, and she mentioned the programmability and the "hold warm" feature that, of course, one doesn't have with a standard pressure cooker.
Glad they got back from Florida OK.
Our pool party was a surprising success, despite the rain. We made it clear to the group that the party was happening, rain or shine, and most of those who had said they were coming showed up. I am glad that I made baked beans for 40+ people as there were 52 people there! There were rain showers but also bits of sun and just overcast. Someone else made a kind of 3 bean salad with a creamy dressing, for 40, and most of his dish was consumed as well. There was a small portion of my baked beans left for the hosts to keep back and enjoy later.
I actually spent 10 minutes in the pool myself, but limited it to that and otherwise tried to stay out of the ultraviolet. Clouds don't really cut that much, if at all, so I mostly stayed on the covered porch or under some of the awnings. I did show a few new people around the place as the hosts were busy, but that didn't have me out in the ultraviolet for long at all. J and I stopped briefly on the way and picked up a friend I have known since about last Christmas Eve, that J had not met until today. I met him over the holidays while J was out of town and we've enjoyed a few meals together during J's out of town trips this spring. He has three cats, as do J and I.
I felt he'd be a welcome addition to our pool party group, as he just seemed like he'd be a good fit. He had a good time and everyone seemed to like him. He said he'd be coming back for more parties.
Have a Safe day and stay dry

I promise you I made a post...possibly for got to post Reply...or I did my answer in my head, and before I could type it out was distracted and never did type it??? I dunno!
Alberto has made landfall, feeder bands of rain come and go..with much more promised for Tues and Wednesday... so, yeah Roger...our weekend was sorta a wash out....though Ed's group sounded like they were in it for the day...rain and all!

I loved Pizza with or without a fork, btw! Not picky as long as the pizza was tasty I could handle getting it into my mouth!
Rain or no, tomorrow I go to a store...have no banana's, want an avocado, and am out of cilantro and limes. Sounds like a trip to the gym, and the market next door!!
J&J got ahead of the storm once out of FLA and Jack said it was dry pavement the rest of the time. He posted a link of a live video cam that was next door to where they were staying in Sandestin..Beach and wave was much more reminiscent of the Atlantic than the gulf.
Later...
I thought I'd remembered You having a IP. It was my understanding that even the Stove top Pressure Cookers had a Adjustable Safety Relief valve to prevent an over pressure event.
Oh well, I am guessing You have a raincoat and Umbrella for Your shopping trip.
Good Luck Shopping

Howdy y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! 71 with an expected high of 79 and 80% chance of precipitation.
Need to give Lilo her Tuesday shot and maybe some light housework. Definitely a nap if I can squeeze one in.
And the cats are telling me they are STARVING so at some point I guess I need to feed them. LOL.

Hi!
Quick hello, as its nearly 2p, and I haven't had lunch yet. I did mop the foyer, and go to the gym, and a produce run at the market.
Roger, if stove top pressure cookers come with 'release' back-ups its news to me....mind you I'm remembering Mom's canning pressure cooker, from 50 years ago!
Ed, glad the pool party was a success rain and all! Weather was a bit weird over here.
I think we may very well be in for a rain later today...the clouds are big, nearly black, and it smells like rain.
Fitbit is tapping me to go for a walk. Apparently I need an additional 199 steps to make it happy this hour? And my tummy is YELLING at me for food.
Will walk first...199 steps is an 'inhouse' kinda walk...and the food had better happen soon after!

At least the Raspberries are growing in the row we planted them in.

Howdy y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! 72 with an expected high of 82 and 90% chance of p.m. precipitation.
Might do something today...might not. Largely depends on how well the ibuprofen works on this headache I woke up with.
Dinner last night was home made 6 cheese pizza, baked on a preheated pizza stone. No leftovers, but J ate more of it than I did and that's as far as I'm going with that...
Need to clean yesterday's cat bowls and feed the cats.

Hi!
Just finished my dinner! Which was delicious. Amy's Tamale Verde...(Vegan) and a tiny cherry pie, warmed with my vanilla coconut ice cream! First guy that says YUCK has to watch these crazy kids for 24 hours! LOL! I would have loved the licorice and maybe even the Durian. (which I have eaten)...The trick with Durian is to not ever ever smell it. Taste is quite good...smell...YUCK
Long day. Publix for some decent arugula and a couple other things...like veggie/tofu hotdogs. I must have sensed Emmy was gonna make pineapple franks! Anyhow, then home had a huge salad that I picked up at Publix...I'm guessing there was at least 8 oz of baby greens, topped with apple slices, blueberries, walnuts, black and golden raisins, etc. Tasty. Especially since I didn't have to fix it.
Got ahead of myself, I bought gas for the lawnmower...
After the news, I made my run to Kroger. $40. Not too shabby. And I got hungry too early for dinner, so I made a one slice cheesy toast, and went to the gym.
I am tired, and its daylight, but I'm going to bed.
PS...I do not ever remember anything as 'exotic' as Pineapple weenies while I was at WW!! (in the 70's) Back in the day when Jean Niditch (sp) started WW. We met in out 'leaders' home once a week, and recipe's were copies from somebody's machine...it was before 'home' printers.... Seriously...I remember days and days of canned tuna with pepper and lemon..(no Mayo allowed), We were required to eat 5 fish meals...and Jack (3 yrs old) and his Dad would not eat fish...hence 5 tuna sandwiches a week. I couldn't eat tuna for several years after that. Also liver was required once a week. That I didn't mind. I think they did, but hey...'tough'!
It rained, so I couldn't cut the grass...thank goodness. Saturday is supposed to be dry, and sunny...hopefully the grass as tall as it is will dry out enough to mow. Stay tuned.........
Ok, good nite! and
