Howdy y'all. It's fantastic Friday! 79 with an expected high of 90 and 20% chance of precipitation.
Need to fold the last of the laundry (some sheets) and clean yesterday's cat bowls. Also need to get out to Walgreen's to get something for this sinus/nasal congestion that, hopefully, actually WORKS but without elevating my blood pressure very much. I've been physically up since about 4:00 and was awake before that, but trying to breathe, largely unsuccessfully, except via mouth, which was quickly drying out and waking me up.
A nap is definitely in the plans for today! I will make that happen!

Goos Morning!
I slept so very well last night, meaning I woke up rested for a change, and my mind is just full of its goofy little self...like the idea of "At concerts and children’s birthday parties, condoms blown up to large balloons" Makes me think of the old saying about so and so's father should have used a condom...etc. Told you my brain was full of mischief today!!
Roger my good old Maytag is a large capacity too, but if gives me options to launder smaller loads, all the way down to 'mini', which is really small!
And you have to remember that my grandparents while born in the USA were children of immigrants...who no doubt lived thru the Potato Famine in Ireland, or perhaps left Ireland because of the famine? Anyhow, its just a little thing that my Grandma told me that actually 'stuck' in my young brain. (and her homemade bars of lye soap, (take the skin off your hands), and her delicious home made Root Beer soda, and the jars and jars of quart size black walnut meats...yum, etc.) Also Gramma was FUN!! She enjoyed a good water fight, (outside of course) or game of tag, etc with my brother and I....was always baking something delicious for us....yeah, leave a potato eye or two...shows your frugal!
Also, have you ever had a nice bowl of rice with your curry or other foods in an Indian restaurant? That beautiful long grain rice that is separate grains, not stuck together is likely either Basmati or Jasmine rice. (you can find it cheap at Costco )
Hi Ed! Just curious as usual, have you ever tried the old standby from when you were a kid...and put a very small bit of Vicks Vapor Rub on your nose??? (just don't get it in you eyesssss).. I'm not a fan of nasal sprays, and seldom have need for it, but here I am, all grown up and well aged...and the stuff of my childhood still works!!! LOL!
Will watch the video's today with lunch. (told you my brain today is in fine form!)
Going to the gym later today, and still undecided about Saturday attendance since I messed up and didn't go yesterday....:(

Vicks contains camphor and eucalyptus oil, both of which are toxic to cats. While the smell would probably not be pleasant to them, I don't want to risk any getting on the cats or being ingested by the cats.

Veggie Egg Roll, I would think that they are also available deep fried and crispy from Chinese Take Out. Looking at the menu they are 10 cents more than the Pork Egg Roll and the same price as the Shrimp Egg Rolls. A little weird IMO.
How do they turn out roasted, Nice and Crispy ?
Roger
They actually turn out quite nicely when baked/roasted. These are usually fully cooked when frozen and you're really just warming them up. I'm sure they'd be even more crisp fried, but why add more oil to what's already got more fat than we need?

Ok, didn't know about cats and vapor rub. Hmmmm. I'd be tempted to either try it during the day, and not rub noses with the 'family', or try to oust the cats from your room for a night or two, (and I know as I type this it wouldn't work.) So, hope you were able to find a good nasal spray!!!
Loved the Carol Burnett clips! and yes, I laughed......:)

Dinner tonight. Came out really delicious. Slightly spicy mac and cheese with chili beans. And yes, there are leftovers!

Hi
I'm back home from walking no cents. The Temperature out the door was 70 degrees, And it is still humid outdoors
I did see one Deer near home on the outbound leg heading for my coffee, Approximately 1/2 way to picking up the coffee a drizzle started that turned into a steady slow rain. It was not all that comfortable under the rain poncho, then around 6 blocks from the house the rain ended.

Lucky us, despite the humidity tomorrow should be more comfortable than today with highs in the 60s if the weather forecast is to be believed.
I hate it when I get Dry Mouth, it will disrupt a nights sleep as You say.
Fold Sheets, Ironed or not ironed ? I never bother to iron myself especially since I prefer flannel sheets and use the flat sheet as a light blanketparityanimal wrote: »Kids try barbecue from around the world.parityanimal wrote: »Kids try sour candy from around the world.parityanimal wrote: »Crispy, cheesy, hash brown bake with egg.
One thing I'm sure of is that my brother would fry it in the Cast Iron Skillet which is what he does when he makes Hash browns.parityanimal wrote: »

What type of beans do You consider Chili Beans ? For example always used Kidney beans and my Brother prefers no beans these days.
BTW I think it is Little Caesars Pizza is advertising this
LITTLE CAESARS® UNVEILS MEAT-COVERED PIZZA CREATION
Little Caesars, the home of HOT-N-READY® pizza, is launching a mouthwatering meat creation, the 5 Meat Feast. This meat-centric pizza will include pepperoni, bacon, sausage, beef and ham* for only $9 plus applicable tax at participating U.S. locations. Starting July 30, the 5 Meat Feast is available for a limited time.
* Canadian bacon will be substituted for ham in certain areas.
I would likely have no problem with Canadian bacon as a substitution as to me it is much closer to ham than bacon
OTOH after trying one of their Pizzas and considering it passable while hot and poor when warm or cold and my brother not caring for it either as being much to much crust and given that we both prefer a thin and crispy crust never again. In this case it is one strike and You are out.
Have a Great Day

When I was in in grade school I remember my grandmother running water over chunks of home made soap as she filled the wringer washing machine with the tub of rinse water nest to it.
I may or may not have been deprived when I admit I have never been in a Indian Restaurant nor had a Curry. I know from British TV shows that they do like their Curry. I would think the not stuck together part is more tied to the cooking process than the type of rice ?Hi Ed! Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! 76 with an expected high of 89 and 20% chance of precipitation.
Orchid judging photography this afternoon, if I go with J. I did sleep better last night but still didn't get enough sleep to really feel great. Got up about 6:00 this morning and been distracted by various and sundry.
I sold my soul yesterday at the pharmacy for some pseudoephedrine, 24 hour tablets, 10 days worth. Hopefully won't have to use more than a few and am monitoring BP closely while taking. Breathing was much improved and my mouth not nearly so dry this morning. And, I didn't have to wake up over and over just to sip water to re-moisturize my mouth! Not to say I didn't still wake up several times during the night...but at least it wasn't waking up feeling like I'd been sleeping in the middle of the Gobi Desert.
Cats have just had their breakfast. There is no laundry to fold or put away. Dishwasher is running.
I need to clean yesterday's cat bowls and I guess put down their kibble for today if they've finished off their canned food.

I'm sure You are not heartbroken that there are leftovers of that really delicious looking Mac & Cheese, (Casserole ?)
What type of beans do You consider Chili Beans ? For example always used Kidney beans and my Brother prefers no beans these days.
The can says "Chili Beans" and is generally some kind of bean cooked and packed in chili sauce. From one manufacturer to another, the exact type of bean used may vary. I don't drain Chili Beans, as the sauce is essential to the dish coming out right.
If making the Chili Beans myself, from dry, I would prefer small red or black beans, though pinto, cranberry, or even pink beans would do in a pinch. And, of course, my spicy, face melting, home made, chili sauce.0
