Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday!

It should be cool and clear today. I may do some house cleaning if my right hip will allow that. Chicken and noodles for my supper last night, heavy on the chicken, and plenty of leftovers.

    Good morning Ed!
And the nightmare continues. Ted, my resident artist, book maker, and amateur observational philosopher, just came thru to the kitchen and suggested that if this country was a horse, we'd take it to the back and shoot it to put it out of its misery, because its broken. I countered with 4 more years of what we've just experienced would kill it, why waste a good bullet? He pointed out my error in thinking and went back to his room with something on toast. I don't know what the kid is eating, but it surely smelled delicious. (never mind I just ate 2 hours ago.)

I really don't have anything on my list for the day. Maybe a trip to Publix? nothing critical, just I think maybe habit??? (now THAT is sad!)

I want to carefully make my way out to my little 4 X 4 garden and see if any of the pea sprouts have survived the mystery diner. A small handful would sure be nice in my lunch salad...if they are still out there. ?????

Well I haven't gotten to any house cleaning as yet, but did just finish putting away a largish order delivered from Kroger. I think I could get used to this delivery thing! I have a smaller order from Amazon Fresh coming later.

Oddly, I found that, though as best I can tell, Amazon Fresh actually comes from Whole Foods, there is a separate basket for orders specifically from Whole Foods, and to get free delivery on either one, (since we do pay yearly for Amazon Prime) the order has to be over $35. PER CART on the Amazon Fresh order, and separately on the Whole Foods order as they don't combine the carts.

Weird. If it all comes from Whole Foods, you would think it would all be one cart, but maybe they keep the Amazon Fresh stuff in a back room or something...

I had started building an order and noticed that I had three carts open. The regular Amazon cart, a Whole Foods cart, and the Amazon Fresh cart.

I deleted all the items from the Whole foods cart and found suitable items by searching specifically only under Amazon Fresh (instead of ALL) and the one item I couldn't get from there is a prime item with free delivery regardless with our prime account.

So...unless Kroger charges me $4.95 for my delivery, all the delivery was free. It did include a $5.00 tip for the Amazon Fresh driver, but Kroger doesn't allow their employees to take tips as best I can tell. Kroger might charge me for the delivery, as the order I placed was over $80, which gets free delivery, but they happened to be out of a number of items (including two kinds of bacon???) and I believe the subsequent total ended up under $80.

BUT, I don't mind paying a reasonable fee for delivery, and $4.95 is certainly reasonable.

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! It looks like it will be another beautiful, sunny fall day today. I got all of yesterday's groceries put away. There is, of course. the perpetual LIST that never seems to stay empty long.

I could really get used to this delivery thing. It was nice to get my groceries delivered right to the door, just like in olden days in small town America. Kroger did NOT, apparently, charge me any delivery fee for yesterday's order, I guess since my initial order was well over $80 and it wasn't my fault that they were out of several items.

Still need to get to some house cleaning. I did just put out some roach tablets in a few places in the kitchen that are inaccessible to the cats, and not close to food.

    Good Morning Ed!
I'm still cold. Its 70 degrees in here, I am wearing sweat pants, my polyester nightshirt, and a full zip hoodie jacket, and woolly lined house shoes...and I am still cold. All I can say, is its gonna be a long winter. (and I say that every year, right?) Its just every fall I have hope that I can tolerate more cold.) But it just doesn't work that way!

Well. we're still waiting for a POTUS...Ga has become a saint state, and I'm sick and tired of Trump. He's going to tie this election up in knots thru the judicial system, for as long as he possibly can. Just like he did with his failed businesses. ARG!!
He's already said he'll take GA to court if the tallies don't go his way. Will be interesting to see how/who will pay for all this possible future litigation. It just better not be 'us'.

I see via USPS mail delivery web site that I am getting a piece of mail from Northside Hospital. This is probably not a good thing. It will be a long afternoon til my mail lady brings the mail to my neighborhood.

I called texted the guy who cut my hair and he offered me a Saturday noonish appointment, and I already have a full day on Saturday, so I had to decline. And haven't heard from him since. I'll give him today, and then I'll go elsewhere. Nobody holds me hostage.

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday! A little warmer today, and expected to be partly cloudy with a slight chance of rain during the evening and overnight.

I got the most of the rest of the accumulated cardboard boxes collapsed and put in the recycle bin, leaving a little room for other recycles, and leaving a few really nice boxes for use in packing up the former roommate's stuff that should have been long gone to Kentucky, but is still cluttering up the room that we made into J's office because travel hasn't really been feasible.

Supper last night was cheesy dirty rice with chili beans, and without any meat. It was relatively easy, and filling. This morning I emptied the dishwasher that ran overnight. Today I may actually have run out of things to do to avoid house cleaning. Maybe.

Yep. looks like we have a beautiful day today! I've done my time on the bike. Sometime I will wander over to Publix. Pick up a salad and about 4 other items..like my 'instant' Steel Cut Oatmeal...you know...'stuff'!!!

I really was hoping that by today's lunch we'd have a presidential announcement. Not only do we not have that, but no, not yet.
I did think it was interesting that the Old 4th Ward, had a surge of Democratic voters. Those are votes remembering/honoring John Lewis. I have to love that!

Hope your day goes well. I love the look of your Cheesy Dirty Rice and Beans! And I'm sure that it was good!

Yesterday evening while on our chat I told 'son 1'..Jack, that I will not be joining them for T-Day. He said he never really thought that I would, knowing how careful I have been to date about avoiding groups, wearing masks, distancing, etc. I was very relieved that he wasn't going to try pushing a 'guilt trip'. So, let my personal T-day feast plans begin!!! :) I may make grilled cheese...it has a historic place in my families turkey day! We, and about 4 other families from the Scuba Dive Club would head to N. Carolina for a long weekend! Fresh sea food, everybody did their own thing, with a 'last nite group dinner'...The divers brought offerings of fish they harpooned, crabs they caught, oysters, etc and one guy was a basement wine maker, and so he always contributed some really nice home brewed wine!
But, we never got to the beach until dinner time...and it was easiest, something that EVERYONE would eat, etc...and Grilled cheese won every year! So we'll see about what happens this year!

Just about all of my Thanksgiving is already out in the garage, in the deep freeze. The stuffing/dressing is in the cupboard, waiting to be mixed up, but the precooked turkey breast, ham, pies, and whipped topping are all in the freezer. Broccoli, for the broccoli cheese casserole, is in there too. My main thing is remembering to get all of this stuff out by the Tuesday before so it has a couple of days to thaw in the refrigerator!

I am hoping for the presidential election to be decided tonight (Friday) but there's still a possibility it may go on for longer. We will see. At least it is currently looking very good for my candidate!

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! It's pretty warm out there, and supposed to stay that way, with some chance of rain today. I may do some of that house cleaning today, and we probably need to get the last of the plants moved into the garage before it gets cold again.

I have a case of the giggles....I just finished watching the ole country guy make home made Tater Tots. At the very end, he shows his above ground pool, and one of his dogs lying on a towel next to the pool..."he's doing aerobics, the downward dog! (that's a yoga move, but we won't tell.)

I need to quickly say my day will be Saturday cleaning chores, and a trip with Ted to Whole Foods! And a nap somewhere in this rigerous Saturday morning.

    Hi Ed!
LOL! at me! I woke up at 4:30 and thought I was waking from a nap. Wrong-O, it was already Sunday...a.m. I'm glad I figured it out before I burst out of my room and woke the household. (meaning Ted, Maya and Tom E.
Today is playoffs day in Soccer. Ted is all in to watching what he can on my TV...and whatever he can find streaming online!
It looks to be a nice enough day, just not exactly sunny! I'm gonna try to get outside a bit too. I have more pea seed. So, I may plant another row. What ever ate my batch of chards, does not apparently eat peas!!

I am so glad I watched our POTUS-elect. What a motivationally address. I think we can breathe a bit. (wearing our masks of course). It will be awhile before we in GA get to vote on 2 senate run off seats...fingers crossed.

Because of the afore mentioned soccer, DINNER will be about 3p.m....and it will be from VeGreen! So I get to have my Tofu and Vegetables and a spring roll. We picked out cake slice yesterday at Whole Foods. :)

    Enjoy your day!

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday! It looks like it may be another warm, overcast day, with a slight chance of rain. I am pretty much ready for Thanksgiving here. I have too much food, but it will all eventually be eaten. Dinner last night was salad and a vegetable gratin and breakfast today was a meat lover's breakfast bowl from the freezer.

Not a lot of definite stuff on the agenda for today. I have already given Lilo her Monday morning subdermal fluid treatment. It went well. I wish, sometimes, that J was more comfortable with medical procedures involving needles, but fully understand why that's not the case. To be fair, the needles I use for her fluid treatments are the big, scary looking, about 3/4 inch long 18 gauge needles reminiscent of those used for donating blood.

I should probably at least check into whether I might need to start some laundry.

    Good Morning Ed,
Still a bit sleepy headed but this coffee should do the trick!
I watched what I could, about 1 ¼ soccer games, game up and went to bed! I'm good for one game...after that sorta lose interest.
Our dinners from VeGreen were good as usual...and they've opened their dining room for indoor dining. Ummm, I think I'll continue to bring mine home. :)

One load laundry going, and another small load to follow. That may be the sum total of my chores for the day. Or, I may take that return package to UPS., maybe...

I watched the video from Saturday....the Brazil Nut one. I really like them, but they are a lot of trouble to crack. I need one of those nut crackers like the ladies were using in the video. And final thoughts...wonder if those folks cracking the nuts make a fair wage, and finally, never ever walk under a Brazil Nut Tree! I used to give wide berth to coconut trees while in FLA. same reason! Just not into getting my head smashed in.

Hope you have a good day. I'll think of you while I fold laundry later today. We'll see tomorrow who actually 'does' laundry! AND gets it put away! LOL!

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! It is going to be another warm, overcast day here, with a good chance of afternoon, evening, and overnight showers as the warmth sticks around.

Nothing critical on the agenda today. I think my joints are feeling the upcoming rain chance. I have given Lilo her Tuesday morning shot to help with her arthritis.

Well, I'm still chuckling! I think this is a morning that I will watch ALL of the video's. Mostly out of curiosity. :)

I'm so sorry your joints are being achy. I hate that. Makes you (or at least me) not wanting to move even a little muscle. Maya must be feeling it too...she went for a very short morning walk. Poor old girl. At least you and I can figure out WHY our bones ache!

laundry is clean, dry, folded, and put away!! LOLOLOLOL! Its a great way to start any Tuesday.

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful wet Wednesday! It should be hot and rainy today.

I have to call an oral surgeon and set up an appointment for an extraction. My dentist cannot see anything wrong with the tooth in question, but it hurts, especially when pressed and she thinks either the root is infected or there is a partial break inside where she can't see it. If I go to an endodontist first, and they determine that it's broken inside, then I would still have to go to an oral surgeon for extraction, and I decided to just eliminate the middle man. It's the second bicuspid on the upper right so removal shouldn't affect how photogenic I am.

For the moment I am on an antibiotic, which does seem to already be helping, and a strong pain pill. But I can't take the strong pill and drive so am saving it for evenings, unless I know I will be home all day. It is tramadol, one of the synthetic codeine derivatives. I can't take codeine because of an allergic reaction but CAN take hydrocodone, which is also a synthetic codeine derivative.

As I had never taken tramadol before, I gave it a trial run last night. It definitely makes me fuzzy and a bit wobbly, but, so far, not the horridly sick allergic reaction I get with codeine. Hopefully I can get in with the oral surgeon before I run out of antibiotic. The dentist gave me 10 days worth, and today is day number 2.

I am so sorry about the ornery tooth! Hopefully you will be able to see the Oral Surgeon very soon. Meanwhile, glad the antibiotic and pain meds are helping.

I'm about to embark on a journey to ATL to see Dr. Pat the Chiro. It rained like the devil last month on my appointed day. So what's up with this... Looking forward to seeing Pat. Right side hip is not happy, for over a week now.

I plan to make a stop at Whole Foods no matter how the rain comes down. I WANT my Chicken Fried Tofu. (did I tell you WF changed the name to VEGAN Fried Tofu?) Made me laugh. You and I may be the last two people who know/knew what 'Chicken Fried' meant and that it had nothing to do with actual chickens! LOL!! It would be interesting to think what those peeps thought Chicken Fried Steak meant!!!LOL!!

Ok, gotta go...have a good day, sleep lots, and it will be soup for you til you get that appointment??

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! It's another unseasonably warm day here. My main thing today is visiting the oral surgeon.

At yesterday's consultation, he agreed with the dentist that there is a very strong likelihood the tooth is broken, inside, allowing easy infection and causing the issue. I think we can do this with just a local, but he wants to be prepared for full anesthesia if needed, so J intends to come with me. The antibiotic is working well, and the pain is minimal this morning, so I feel good about trying with a local.

All the same, nothing to eat until after the procedure. And I can only rinse my mouth to moisten, not actually drink anything.

    Good Morning Ed.
At least I hope this morning and day will be good to you. Rascally old tooth!

My day is pretty clear right up to my Thursday chat with Jack.

I really hit WF's hot bar yesterday. Besides the loved Vegan Fried Tofu, I got some vegan mac & Cheese. And then...grilled vegetables, a 'splat' of their mashed sweet potatoes, spicy cooked mushrooms, green beans, and, And AND...a veg dish of OKRA that is not fried. I have a history with okra. I've even grown it in my gardens in TN. But, I just never got the hang of it until one night while working in a hospital it was on the steam table and so I tried it Big yum!! But this okra is not fried....so I tried it. Holy Cow! Tasty and not at all slimy. Wish I'd gotten more of it.
The point of the paragraph was I don't have to cook for about 3 days! (OK, I'll make morning oatmeal).

I was so happy to see the CDC? or FDA? admit out loud and to the public that masks not only protect others, but Protects YOU too!!! Ya know, if they'd said that in the beginning..........

Will be thinking about you and your tooth, and wishing you well. Hopefully no need for full anesthesia!
